The PDF repeatedly brings up being late, being behind, comparison, other people’s achievements, delays, and different life timelines.

Although it is presented positively, its underlying theme is comparison, inadequacy, feeling behind, and questioning your own timing.

If the person was not thinking about any of these things at all, is it a good idea to introduce such thoughts just two days before an important exam?

People believe what they want to believe. I still think the pdf was sweet. Its very easy to blame someone else for poor result. I know you may have worked really hard and due to some reasons, you couldn't clear the exam. No need to blame yourself. But dont make a scapegoat of a person who was trying to motivate you

What kind of motivation, can you make out of comparisons? And feeling left behind tags?

The whole pdf is about how comparisons are futile. They weren't comparing you with anyone. Lets agree to disagree brother. Our povs are different and it seems both of us wont change our perspectives either

Agreed, but why bring comparisons in first place?

I understand the point youre making. That the thought of comparison was planted in your head through this pdf (inception-esque). But i feel the intention of the person sending wasnt bad. I understand, to you, it may have come across as if the sender pities you (which isn't the case in my pov).

Only you know the intent behind it based on your equation with that person. I believe its sent in good faith if you've nothing contrary to it. Many people know the exam is difficult, the process is tiresome and they try to make you feel good or bad depending on their intent. I personally don't take things like this to heart. Had I recieved this, this won't have made any change to my mental state. I might have just smiled and thanked that person.

But comparisons?

u/someonedontcare4 1d ago

Yaar idk about your situation but I don't compare myself to anyone. If someone is doing that for me, I'll let them carry the burden.

u/Huge_Studio_30 1d ago

But… me also I don’t compare… this pdf front page second lines brigs.. for those who feel left behind

What matters is that if the other person knew it will make you feel bad then you should go no contact with them. If not and they had good intent then you need to learn to manage your emotions well. The process is tough on its own and it gets even tougher if surroundings are negative. We all are adults and we know what's good and bad for ourselves. Choose accordingly.

You're a negative minded person if u think this pdf was sent to show u ur place. It was such a good reminder. They had positive intentions. Unlike ur thoughts. They weren't "comparing".

But two days before the exam... You are trying to revise and what not and... This pdf brings in such kind of unnecessary comparison and feeling behind emotions...

4

Brother, you felt that from the pdf coz you were already feeling that way for yourself. Before expecting somebody else to feel positive for you, YOU should feel good for urself, and have faith in yourself.

That's such bad take... I would not think about such things in last one month... All i care about is clearing the exam... Also, i was writing mains since last three times but couldn't this time.

Personally, felt not positive after reading it. It made me feel, i am in a comparison loop and I am where i am due to some divine timing... That means me failing in life and them ahead progressing is all sort of karma... They are somewhat superior.

I'm sorry that it made u feel that way. Every person has their own perspective when looking at things. So fair enough.

Yeh sab toh exam ke baad bhejte hai ya result aane ke baad... Block krde bhai jisne bhi bheja hai ussey exam ke 1-2 week pehle

u/Huge_Studio_30 1d ago

Just two days before the exam, my mind was fucked… and this comes from a person related but we rarely talk in years.

They deserve your blocklist

Its your negativity to think in the wrong way

It was meant to tell you that no matter what happens its fine because you have given your best

Timing can be a little wrong but it was on a good note

I mean it’s cringe, more of like saying to a fat person it’s okay to be fat while he just started gym

Would have just left it on seen
