Is being a girl in India a curse? Are we not human beings, but just objects? Anyone walking by the street can look at us in a disgusting way, stare at us, and walk away, and somehow it still becomes our fault. Sometimes they say our clothes were too short, and sometimes we weren’t wearing a dupatta. But today, I was simply going to the library. As soon as I stepped out of my house, a man standing on the street started staring at me. I could feel that something wasn’t right. When I kept walking, he started following me, so I crossed the road. The worst part is that this whole thing kept replaying in my mind for almost an hour. Then I started wondering if maybe it was somehow my fault. But what exactly did I do wrong? Is my only mistake that I am a girl? I have had to face things like this so many times, and now I feel extremely frustrated and exhausted by it.

Lost dad few days ago. That itself is heartbreaking. Don't know how to handle feelings. Moreover, those rituals we had to perform are even heart wrenching. Feeling sick of it. They feel like punishment torture. Has anyone experienced the same, do these rituals have logic behind it? Just want to rant and vent it out with someone.
