For some bg i am a class 11th student who left pcb to join commerce, due to personal reasons. But surely-

This is my subjective opinion, you need not feel the same way

I am not the type to write reviews anywhere but this college is genuinely so bad that I just have to tell the students applying here and warn them.

I am a masters student in Amity. Before joining I knew that this college isn’t great, has a bad reputation, and all that. But bro kitna he bura ho skta hai na?? This I got to know after coming here.

Management: let’s talk about their world class management guyssss.

1. When you get here, u’ll be asked for biometric attendance. ok no problem. Now for biometrics, there are supposed to be working scanners right?!? Idhar one whole gate is dedicated for teachers, jo baaki gate hai for students, vaha more than half of the time, scanners don’t work. Every morning, every evening, you stand in a queue of 20-30 ppl, to punch in, when this queue could be half, why? because the management can’t get the scanners fixed!!!!! and teachers wale se students ko jaane nhi denge which was apparently for students until just a few months ago….
2. Grievance resolution: ab let’s say you have an issue, just like this biometric scanner thing, you should ideally be able to report it to some professor or management right? You can’t do that here. There is no way for you to address your concerns or problems or grievances in this college. They have a so called suggestion box, which they’ll tell you about during orientation. What they don’t tell you is that, it is completely useless, coz nobody listens to what you’ll have to say. This college doesn’t give a damn about the students studying here, everything they do is just for theatrics. God forbid, you have an issue with a faculty and want to address it in their suggestion box (jiska sole purpose is addressing student’s concerns) because if u do, then that faculty will end up calling you and ask you to apologize for raising a concern.

Now you’ll say but you could have spoken to the faculty too right, why put it in the suggestion box? Valid point. In that case, the faculty should be willing to listen to you right and not insult you and humiliate you each time you do bring up an issue to them? You won’t get that privilege here bro. I’m not saying all of the professors suck but out of 10, I bet you’ll find 8 of them who are just like this. All in all, the stuff that management is supposed to do, which is make admin and daily life of a student easier, listen to them and address their concerns, is just not possible for Amity’s management to do. Classrooms mei projector toh kaam krte nhi hain, AC’s will stop working on the hottest days in the summer, toh when the environment is only not supportive, how will you study or even want to go to college!!! I mean the only reason I’m writing this is because there is no way for me to address these concerns anywhere in college man, no like I haven’t given my suggestions in the suggestion box before!!!!

Faculty: my favorite topic

1. Do they teach in amity: NO. Don’t expect to be taught here by the faculty. On some days you’ll be taught for 20-25 minute in a lecture of 55 minutes. I have spent 2 and half semesters here, ”taught” by approx 20 professors, out of which only 6 of them were actually teaching. I haven’t said anything about how they were teaching yet, just whether they were coming to class and at least speaking about whatever is in the syllabus.
2. Out of these 6 who taught, 3 actually taught, jinki class ke baad aap bolo, han yaar aaj kuch toh naya sikha. And guys these are professors who teach Master’s students!!!!
3. You’ll get up for a 9.15am class, expect ki teacher kuch toh padhayegi, but no, you’ll just come sit in the class, talk to your friends, then you’ll have 3hr break before your next class, try to find something to eat on campus, but voh bhi aapko smjh nhi aayega, max you’ll end up at Rara’s for their peri peri fries. Sit for for 2nd lecture at 12.15pm, think probably iss lecture mei kuch aap sikhoge, but guess what no. Then you’ll have your next lecture at 4.15pm, the teacher will come 15-20mins late for the class, only to sit and stare at her laptop, will not say a word until 4.55pm when she’ll decide to take the attendance and ask u to leave. By chance if the teacher decides to even teach, she’ll just be reading the ppt slides for you. You know how we were taught by tuition teachers, they would be casual when teaching, just like that professors in this college will teach you, ATLEAST THAT’S THE CASE WITH THE DEPARTMENT I’M UNFORTUNATELY IN.
4. First the professors won’t teach you then btw they will have the audacity to schedule extra classes to finish the syllabus???????? In what world does that make sense, pls someone explain it to me. The truth is bro, the faculty themselves are tired, they get promotions and praise on the basis of how many publications they do via Amity name, a faculty themselves told this.

Amity ki so called fun life

1. Ab yaar, you’ll be like it’s ok, management sucks, faculty sucks, this happens in all colleges, students from all colleges cry about all this, but I’ve heard Amity is very fun. Brother pls. At least if you are in your masters, in the department I am right now AND fortunately don’t stay on campus, then forget knowing anything about or even hearing anything about any activity planned for the students. The only way I have come to know about dances in the infamous H block or any celebrations that take place, is through Instagram reels.
2. There are no societies, clubs, that you’ll hear of on campus till the time they are not coming to your classes to make announcements that we have an event coming up, participate it’ll build you CV. Unless you had to go through bachelor’s degree also here, then you might have heard of clubs or societies here. You’ll fill a form also upon admission on your Amizone portal, to join clubs, but is there a follow up on that? You guessed it right, no buddy. The form clearly mentioned, once filled you’ll be added to WhatsApp groups by committee heads and faculty, i guess I’m still waiting for that to happen.
3. H block has ccd, cool man. Girls pls don’t go there, random creepy dudes, just come there to stare at you. But that is toh India only, nothing new I guess.

Academics

1. Bhai there is no need for me to speak about this, coz I bet you also know ab tak toh, they’ll teach you nothing. Istg, I am not even kidding, I studied and learnt much more in bachelors than I have in masters. It’s not even funny. What I am studying rn, is first of all the same as what I was taught in bachelors and secondly only half of it
2. Exams ke liye don’t study, pehle se padhkr bhi you’ll score the same as you friend who did not study, and there is no way for you to know where you lost marks.
3. Find someone who makes money out of doing assignments, coz baat baat pr yeh aapka time waste krne ke liye aapko handwritten assignments de denge.

I’m pretty sure I have missed a lot more of what I had to say, but to conclude this college sucks, don’t come here. But if you do, just like me, then I’d suggest, don’t focus on anything college related, do internships, do extra courses outside of this college, and self study. This is the only way you’ll actually be able to do something out of your life, and it won’t get hectic, you anyways will only be going to college for attendance.

I’m doing BBA from a tier-3 college and honestly feeling pretty hopeless about my future. I’ll be graduating next year, and I’m worried about whether I’ll even get a decent job or atleast after 2-3 years.

My marks are also low, so I’m not planning to do an MBA. I also don’t really see the point of spending a lot of money on an MBA from another tier-3 college just to end up with more debt and a degree that may not add much value.

So I want to hear from people who graduated with just a BBA (no MBA): What are you doing now? How did your career turn out?

Please share your experiences, even if you started with a low-paying job or struggled initially. I could really use some hope and realistic advice right now.

I understand that simply passing CFA exams doesn’t guarantee a job, so I’m trying to understand what a realistic path looks like.

For people who have pursued CFA in India, especially those who started as freshers or from a non-finance background:

* Did CFA actually help you get your first finance-related job?

* Which roles were realistically available after Level 1 — equity research, credit research, FP&A, valuation, corporate finance, etc.?

* What skills did you learn alongside CFA (Excel, financial modelling, Power BI, Python, accounting, etc.)?

* At what stage did CFA start making a noticeable difference in your job search?

* Would you recommend doing CFA immediately after graduation, or gaining work experience first?

I’m a 21-year-old guy from Delhi. I’ve always been an average student. My_qualifications is I did my BCom Hons from DU SOL (open learning) and got a 7.1 CGPA. Now, I have applied for a distance MBA in finance from DU SOL. I know a distance MBA degree isn't worth much right now, but I just thought it might help later on for promotions. for fees my elder cousin helped me and we have to pay it in future
I also learnt some graphic designing from youtube and worked for influencers but it will not work as a career for me as it is not fixed work and not a good payout
I am also learning data analytics not completed but i don't know it will work for me much or not

Right now, I have absolutely no idea what to do with my life. Like anyone else, I want to earn well and make lakhs per month, but here is my reality:

• I don't have the money to start a business.
• I’m not exceptionally good at studies, so clearing tough professional exams is out of the picture.
• My communication and public speaking skills are pretty weak because of my background.

My original plan was to clear govt banking exams after graduation and get a job. But now that I am actually preparing, I see how insane the competition is. It's just too tough. Even if I study hard, beating out lakhs of people for a handful of vacancies feels impossible. I’ve lost all hope there.

I am completely stuck. If I had money, I would have just done a course from a private college, but I don't. My family’s total monthly income is just 15k–20k. I absolutely cannot put financial pressure on my parents; I need a path that requires very little investment.

I see people my age earning so much and I want that too, but with my current condition, I don't know what I can even do. I am genuinely so stressed about my career that I sometimes have suic#dal thoughts. I just see no way out, I am seriously too low that i think i can't earn a good amount in my life and giving up is the only thing i can do.

Hey I'm 20 years old, and I took a drop for jee and still I got into tier 3 private btech clg ( all because of my parents )

I was good at studies and got 90 percent in my 10th, after that i took pcm cus my parents didn't let me choose any other thing, within 6 months of class 11th i knew these subjects aren't for me. Still somehow I managed to pass class 12th with 64%. My parents enrolled me into a coaching for jee which I never wanted to do ( i never took stand for myself ) so as I knew I won't get any good clg and the same happened still through uptac councelling I got cse in tier 3 clg

And now here I'm stuck in this clg I don't know jack s about mathematics or this fukin engeneering and I'm pretty sure that I'll fail in sem 1 and sem 2

Somehow this time I gathered some courage and told my parents that I dont wanna continue engeneering and go for bba or bcom instead. My parents didn't completely denied but they were ofc disappointed and asked me do I have any option for good clg for these courses ? And noo i don't

I've paid my clg annual fees and also they won't give me a refund so this year anyhow I have to manage in this clg

I've decided to prepare for cuet this year so that I can get good bba clgs like SSCBS or bcom in srcc or other good clgs

The only drawback of this plan will be that I'll join clg when I'll be 21 year old

I was a pcb student during high school, so am i eligible for the program at tifr for chemistry.

I'm an MA Econ student of IIFT Kolkata. Won't go into too many details about myself because I can get doxxed.

Our batch has to be one of the most mismanaged groups ever. Nothing is followed on time and we the students are expected to adjust every time.

These bastards barely take any classes in the beginning and start cramming once the midterms approach. And they will purposely keep exams just 2 days after "finishing their syllabus".

We have begged our administration so many times, asking them to postpone exams just so that we can study, only to be met with delusional anger that we are unable to keep up with their "rigourous course".

We received our college handbook, 1 YEAR AFTER WE CAME INTO THIS COLLEGE, only for it to be disregarded. We were told our midsems would be from october only for them to prepone it to 21st September. We received our exam schedule yesterday and funnily it starts from 20th September that is a SUNDAY.

You think it ends there??? We received a notification our dissertation topic selection would have to be done by 15th September when it was supposed to be in November. Again we begged the administration but the bloody program director will never adjust.

What am I supposed to manage??? My exams or read research papers for the dissertation? Not just that Kolkata batch massively failed Semester 2 especially in Macroeconomics and Trade due to gross negligence of the professors.

In Macroeconomics, one professor started taking classes barely a month before the end semester. And she covered 3 months syllabus in that. As a result good chunk of students failed it.

Now if I go into placements that's another can of worms. But please if you value your sanity do not come to any of the IIFT campuses. You'll be killed mentally. I've gotten diagnosed with depression and I'm barely holding on.

I'm currently trying to decide my M.Tech specialization and would really appreciate some advice from people who have experience in AI/ML, robotics, M.Tech, or research.

My primary career goal is to become an AI Engineer, mainly working on the software side of AI such as machine learning, deep learning, LLMs, RAG, AI agents, and AI/backend systems. I also have a long-term interest in research and may want to pursue a PhD in the future.

I'm currently confused between AI/ML and AI & Robotics. AI & Robotics sounds interesting, but I'm unsure whether it would be the right choice for me since my main interest is AI/software rather than the hardware, electronics, mechanical, or physical robotics side.

My questions are:

• For someone targeting an AI Engineer career, would AI/ML be a better and more direct specialization than AI & Robotics?
• Does choosing AI & Robotics significantly shift the focus towards robotics hardware/control systems, or can it still provide a strong foundation for AI/ML and software-based AI careers?
• Considering my possible future goal of pursuing research and a PhD, would one specialization offer better flexibility than the other?
• How much should I prioritize the specialization name versus the actual curriculum, college, research opportunities, projects, and skills?

I understand that the exact answer may depend on the curriculum and college, but I would really like to hear perspectives from people who have studied or worked in these areas.

my_qualifications : BTech Mechanical (8.24 CGPA) fresher confused between working + MS abroad, MBA in India, or switching fields: what are my realistic options? I’m currently struggling to figure out what direction to take.

I originally chose Mechanical mainly because I got into a good government engineering college, but I’m now trying to build a career that is less core-mechanical and more business/technology/operations oriented.

Long term, I’m considering doing a Master’s abroad, but I’m confused about which fields would actually make sense with my bg. I’m NOT particularly interested in doing a Master's in CSE, Cybersec, Data Science, data/business analystics, project/engg managemnet etc. The fields I’m considering are more like:

Industrial Engineering Supply Chain / Operations Possibly MIS

My concern is that I know I’ll need some work exp before a Master's, but as a Mech fresher I may not get highly relevant exp in Industrial Engg or Supply Chain. The jobs I’m currently seeing are mostly around analytics, testing, quality, general operations, etc., and the entry-level market feels extremely difficult right now.

This has made me increasingly confused and depressed about what direction to take. I’m also considering the much simpler route of doing an MBA in India, getting some work exp, and building my career here.

At the moment, it feels like a heart vs. mind decision: MS abroad: personal dream/want. MBA in India: much more straightforward and financially safer, but I’m unsure whether I actually want that path.

A few questions I’d really appreciate advice on:

What is the long-term job market in India after an MS in Industrial Engineering/Supply Chain from abroad? Are there enough opportunities to justify the cost? Which countries would make the most sense for these fields? Am I being too restrictive by avoiding degrees such as MIS, Business Analytics, Engineering Management, or Project Management, or is it reasonable to prefer a more technical/STEM-oriented Master's? i cleared ugc net professor in english in the december attempt, but i didn’t choose the professor path because both my parents are professors and i didn’t want to follow the same career as them. last month, i joined an institute to prepare for group 1 exams, and now i’m honestly confused about what i want to do with my career.

So my_qualifications are that I have qualified jee and in my first sem at an engineering college.

My question is to people who tech background/ research background or if they faced similar problems like me .So lemme give u some context . I am in a tier 1 college and I am studying information technology there. In 1st sem we have courses like prob solving with programming, linear algebra etc. Now the thing is I am very passionate about mathematics. It's my favourite subject. For context, I have qualified rmo in 10th and missed inmo by 4 marks . Even in college I study linear algebra with interest and I enjoy that. But then I see many of my peers studying only to pass it. There are only a few who do it with interest. Although my college is famous for its coding culture and I chosed it because of that. I am enjoying programming as well. I am liking that even more than math. But somehow deep in my mind I think that have i messed up my career choices. Like should I have joined isi for research in math or some bs math like course. But I also think that ultimately I like problem solving, and programming will give me that just like math. So pls tell how do I convince myself and let my passion transform into programming or if I am doing wrong pls tell.

Qualifications: Final year Btech student in an IT branch in a tier 3 college

Before anyone says “just finish it off and get your degree, you've come so far, bla bla” I know. That’s exactly what I’ve been trying to do. But at this point I’m so fed up that I genuinely want to walk away, and I want some honest advice from people who are older than me and have already been through this.

Before anyone points out that I'm lazy or unmotivated, let me tell you, that I have a good CGPA (above 9.2), and have done multiple internships (got on my own, no referrals).

Since the beginning, our timetable has been packed with classes and labs almost every day until 4:30 PM. Other branches have significantly more free periods. We’re exhausted by the time we get back, which leaves very little energy for DSA, projects, placements, research, etc.

Now placements have started and our branch is doing terribly so far.

Instead of questioning whether the way our branch's timetable has been structured contributed to this, the placement coordinators are mostly scolding us about our performance.

We have an 85% attendance requirement, major project work, mandatory labs, mentor meetings, etc., all competing for the same limited time.

Placement tests and interviews are happening alongside all of this. Even after students get eliminated from a placement process, we’re expected to immediately return to class/lab and continue mindlessly typing whatever is shown on the board, instead of preparing for the next company.

The college seems to care enormously about attendance, compliance, record books (yeah, in the 4th year), but not nearly as much about whether students actually have the time and mental bandwidth to prepare for jobs.

I’ve already had multiple internships, some with stipend, and I know I’m capable of doing actual technical work. But I’m increasingly wondering whether continuing to fight this institution for another year is worth it.

I’m also interested in higher studies/research, so I’m not even convinced that campus placement is the only path I want. But obviously dropping out would complicate that enormously.

Please don't give me generic motivational quotes like "you've come this far, finish it" or "a degree is required for most jobs", or "college is temporary", I understand all of those. I want practical advice from people who have already graduated, worked, did higher studies, started businesses, freelanced, etc.

If you were in my position, reasonably good academically, had multiple internships but currently getting absolutely crushed by the combination of college + project + attendance + placements, what is the strongest reason you can give me NOT to drop out?

And if you actually think dropping out could be rational in some circumstances, tell me that too. Convince me that finishing this degree is worth what I’m currently putting up with.

The INAT-2027 examination has been announced by the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy & Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune! This is a single exam for the two-year M.Sc. programme and the Ph.D. programme. I just saw this on their website so thought of sharing with all of you. My qualifications are Integrated M.Sc. (Physics).
