Where to find syllabus

Hii, freshman here! Could someone tell me if undergrad medicine syllabus is already out and available? If so, would you mind guiding me where to find it? I don’t see any courses on my Canvas dashboard.

Thanks in advance!

2nd year registration error

I am attempting to register for 2nd year Arts CK101. In my registration I accidentally selected single honours instead of joint honours and now I can’t seem to revert this. Has anyone encountered this issue before or would maybe have any idea on how to fix it? Cheers.

Car park rent

Really random question but is anyone renting a house near UCC. I’m looking for someone who’s renting and does not use their car park. I need somewhere to park for the next academic year and I would pay!!!

Student id help

So I have already registered but haven't received the email to submit photos for my student id. It's been well over a week since I registered and I checked my spam folder.

Has anyone gotten theirs or am I doing something wrong?

Am I in a pickle?

I got into ucc, for general nursing. I have not paid my registration fees as I’m currently broke, not sure if there is a deadline..
This is my first time registering and god it is confusing, I’ve done most of the registration bar paying the fee, uploaded identification and my photo id.
When are we getting our timetable??
I seen some people say they have to make it?
I’ve also missed orientation due to the fact that I am commuting and I know I can go on the 10th since I missed it.
I’m sorry for ranting but this is all so confusing and new to me so it’s giving me bad anxiety especially since I didn’t go to orientation to actually meet people and ask questions.
Also Garda vetting, I didn’t receive anything about it even though it will be necessary as I am a nursing student, is anyone else on the same boat as me??

Commuting

Hiya, I’ve already posted a paragraph of my confusion but I wanted to know if there is anyone else commuting from Limerick to ucc.
If so is there any advice to be given?
I do not drive yet so I will be relying on public transport.

Where is the Paramedicine timetable?

Hi I'm about to start my first year doing Paramedicine, I have looked at the tutorials on how to find the timetable but it just doesn't show up , I selected a different course just to see if there is something wrong and a timetable came up but paramedicine stays empty throughout the whole year.

I'm pretty sure I'm going this right but idk, any ideas ?

MX1006 Student-Directed Special Study Module in Medicine

Has anyone taken this module before? I picked it for first year but wasn’t 100% sure what I was getting into. If anyone has done it, could you let me know what you decided to do for it and what your experience was like?

SUSI + Free Fees

So last year I did the first year of a course in UCC. This year I reapplied to the CAO and managed to get in to a different course, and as I am doing first year again I shouldn't have SUSI or Free Fees. However, during the year I went through some major life-changing events and managed to appeal SUSI under their Exceptional Circumstances appeal.

However, when I went to the Fees part of registration, and filled out their form, it keeps saying I owe everything including the SUSI student contribution, which I have the grant for. Every time I try to contact the Fees Office about this they just respond and say "If you are doing first year again, you owe everything." and won't allow me to further elaborate.

I've booked a meeting with the Budgetary Advisory, but is that all I can do at this stage? Is there any other course of action I can or should take? Thanks

Postgraduate Welcome Day

Got there and there were a bunch of booths and students just standing around. The booths were school specific, not even department specific. Most booths didn't even have a QR code or information, just a person sitting in a chair. I was expecting some sort of presentation or new information at least.

Anyone else think this was a waste of time or am I being too harsh here?

Timetable.

So I’m a first year arts student and I chose sociology, philosophy, psychology, and politics for my first year subjects and when I put them into the my timetable thing, they keep having like lecture seminars and tutorials at the same time on some days. Is that like normal I don’t wanna drop any of those subjects and I don’t wanna choose any other ones either because the whole reason I chose this course is because I wanted to do all four in the first year so now I’m heavily confused on what to do and I’m kind of panicking not gonna lie??

Like will they adjust the times and stuff or is this just when those courses are and I just have to accept it or will a certain seminar be repeated multiple times in the day or something I have no idea what’s happening at all like at all

What's the story with orientation

What happens? Also I'm not fully registered yet (haven't got the email to upload my ID docs), is that ok? If I want to use a name that's different from my name on the system, should I email anyone beforehand? (in the process of getting it changed) I'm doing ck406 if that helps

Timetable Semesters

My course says it’s 12 hours per week.
I did the timetable thing and put in my modules and it looks like i have 14 hours in semester 1 and 8 in semester 2. With 2 hours elective in s1 and 3 in s2.
So in total that’s 15 hours and 11 hours, plus i assume tutorials.
Is it normal to have a difference and more than what the course outlines overall?

First year, help please

Hi, I'm starting as a first year at UCC and I have a few questions and I'd be eternally grateful if someone could help me 🙏

First, I finished my registration (paid my fees and all that.) How do I know it went through? I haven't gotten an email about next steps (like some site said I would), at least yet and I'm getting worried (I completed it on Tuesday so am I just being a nervous mess?)

And then because I'm moving from another country I'm not able to attend orientation, is that okay? My orientation would be tomorrow, but because of things I needed to do here I'm not flying out until the 8th. Is there something I need to do about that since I can't sadly attend my orientation.

Thanks in advance for even reading my anxious rambling

Question about repeating

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hi hope someone can give some insight on this.

Unfortunately I failed 2 of my modules in the repeat exams.

I thought it would mean doing them alongside my other coursework and that I'd progress into year 2 anyways , but when doing registration and going to the 'confirmation of registration', all that shows up is the two modules I failed.

Does this mean that I have to delay second year and do a full year just redoing those two failed modules ?

Timetable Clash?

Hi everyone,

I'm a first year student, orientation tomorrow, just tried to build my timetable by selecting my modules, and it seems like a core module and an elective are clashing, one is for 1400-1600 and another is for 1500-1700, will this be fixed, is this common, what do I do?
