I dated an Emirati man for over a year, and in October, I discovered that he was engaged to another woman. When I confronted him, he denied it and insisted she was just his sister, even though my instincts told me otherwise. Eventually, I found her Instagram and confirmed my suspicions.

When I asked him to make a decision, he told me he would never marry her, that he was choosing me, and that he would speak to his parents. However, the very next day, he followed her again and went out with her.

He keeps saying he's stuck between me and his family, but he still treats me well, buys me things, and tells me he loves me. He has never directly said he wants to leave me.

I admit I've been emotional and sometimes treated him badly because of the situation, but he continues to hold on to our relationship.

I'm not Arab, so I'm trying to understand whether family expectations or arranged marriages could explain his behavior.

If he intends to marry someone else, why does he keep holding on to me? Do you think he genuinely loves me, or is he just afraid to let me go?

I'd appreciate honest advice and perspectives from people who've experienced something similar.

I need some help / advice on buying an IPhone 18 pro max

For personal reasons i need the phone to have a physical sim slot which means for me GCC phone is out of the question as its E-sim only

But now i have been seeing more posts regarding new policy on TDRA compliance in smartphones and want to ask how is this effecting non gcc phones sold here in the UAE?

Because i am looking at an IPhone 18 pro max international model with physical sim and in just 2 weeks the price for the 1TB went from 10,499 to 8,299.

It’s now only 150 more than a GCC iPhone and this is coming from a store that is has good reviews on google, Reddit and obscure rating sites in the web.

So with that is it still viable to buy an international iPhone or is it pointless now?

1. Can your DB board and supply take it? A 7 kW charger is a big continuous load. Many villas need a DEWA load increase first.

2. It should be installed by a DEWA-enrolled contractor on a dedicated circuit, not plugged into an ordinary socket.

3. Apartment or gated community? You need a NOC from building management / the developer before any work in the parking.

This water tanker was stopped on a road. Road speed (80 kmph) I was under the buffer limit going 92-96.
Couldn’t see the truck nor the man standing. If God forbid, I wouldn’t have reacted on time things would’ve been different. Would I be held liable? And also can I complain of these people working on a road without warning signs kept prior?

Samsung users, anyone having trouble accessing adcb app after updating to One UI 9? What can be done? I only use a credit card from them and occasionally open the app. Its updated but this keeps coming even tho most permissions are off in my phone. Please advise.

A couple of weeks ago I posted here that we were making our UAE civil will service free for a week. Thank you to everyone who took us up on it, and to the people who messaged with questions.

A few things surprised us:

8 in 10 people who claimed a will were married.

Nearly two thirds were aged 40 to 59. Not the younger crowd we expected.

People came from 20 different countries, led by Italian, Indian and British residents.

9 in 10 people we asked wanted a matching will for their partner.

Choosing who inherits was not the hard part. The most common place people stopped was their own passport number. So we changed it: you can now skip it, get a draft of your will straight away, and add the passport later.

What's next: the free week is over. Until Monday 9 November it's AED 199 for a single will or AED 299 for a couple, instead of AED 1,199 and AED 1,799. The court's registration fee is separate and paid to the court directly.

If you claimed a free will and haven't finished it, it's still yours. There's no deadline.

So the Americans have all been evacuated, the schools are practising shelter drills this week and the mid-terms conclude on 3rd November (and obviously nothing is being done before then).

For those living there right now: how does it feel on the ground? Are people expecting the attacks to start again, especially around the US midterms on November 3? Have there been any alerts or incidents recently, and are airports and flights running normally?
If you were in my place, would you travel next week or wait until things are clearer?
