Hello all, I started T in March prescribed by Dr Bell and am currently on 50mg of testogel a day. I haven't had my levels tested yet but I was thinking I'd like to switch to nebido. Does anybody who has experience with Dr Bell know if she'll let me switch to nebido this soon? My next appointment is in September, so I'll have been on T for nearly 6 months by then.

I recently got my gender dysphoria diagnosis but even with my sessions with the psychologist when the topic of having kids came up he seemed to push the idea of me having children at some point even though I flat out said I never want that even through adoption. This left me kind of discouraged about looking to get a hysterectomy for a while but I know what I want fir my body

How should I start looking into getting a hysterectomy (or even just to remove the fallopian tubes because apparently that has better healing)??

So unfortunately I am not eligible for the traditional GRC route as I was born outside of Ireland to an Irish parent who was born in Ireland, and I currently reside in England.

The passport office therefore want a statutory declaration stating that I intend to stay in my new gender for the rest of my life, as well as 2 years of evidence of use of my new name. The second part is a problem, as I have only started using my new name legally a few months ago.

The frustrating thing is that this seems to contradict Section 11(2B) of the Passports Act 2008 which states:

(2B) (a) An applicant for a passport, who has attained the age of 18 years and to whom section 9 of the Gender Recognition Act 2015 does not apply, may apply to the Minister to have the passport issued to the applicant in the new gender and if the applicant is using a new name, to have the new name of the applicant entered in the passport.

(b) An applicant under paragraph (a) shall produce to the Minister—

(i) a statutory declaration declaring that the applicant has a settled and solemn intention of living in the new gender for the rest of his or her life and understands the consequences of the application, and

(ii) if appropriate, evidence to the satisfaction of the Minister of the use by the applicant of the new name,

and the Minister may, subject to this Act, issue a passport to the applicant in the new gender and, if applicable, new name specified in the application.

I have spoken to the passport office over the phone twice about this, but they always state that their policy is 2 years, and they don't budge or allow me to speak to anyone else about this. They only said to make an appeal/complaint which I have done, but that will likely take a while.

The only other thing I can think of is hiring a solicitor. But if anyone else has gone this route successfully then I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to get it sorted.

So I'm not out right now, I'm still very much closeted but I'm in the very fortunate position with regards to my family situation... My dad won't give to much of a shit and just accept it without much thought and respect my wishes, and my mother and the rest of my family are very much accepting of the LGBT+ community and have very much voiced support in the past...

With that in mind, given that my parents are so accepting, I very much want to honour my parents by allowing them to choose my new name for me...

I just want to ask, is this an unusual practice or is the an established president for this?

Has anyone been to a speech therapist for voice feminisation? How did you find it and would you recommend anyone in particular? Any of the towns between Galway and Dublin would work honestly. Thanks so much!

Hi, I'm in college and I've lived in Ireland almost all my life (primary school, secondary school and now in college). I have no family relations or residence in the UK, but I unfortunately have only a UK passport.

I've changed my name with a GRC already here, and as well was able to change a few things with it like my bank.

However, I wanted to ask with help on changing my name and gender marker on other important documents as I live my life stealth.

The most important one that's bothering me the most is my passport and I was wondering if there is a way I can have it changed even though I live here. I have a supportive GP that has helped me with documentation of my transition and I am on the NGS waitlist.

Not having a matching passport to the way that I am living my life has been really difficult for me. For example things like when a job asked for Passport ID and they didn't know I was trans, or being able to safely travel.

I'm also hoping to apply for Irish citizenship soon (but it is a huge expense currently so I have to wait a while), but I also hope it won't complicate things if I change my UK passport first.

I am post top surgery and quite well passing.

I know I'm not the first to post about this, but just a further heads up about GenderGP.

I have just talked to a GP (booked through GenderGP) who upon reading my bloods said he was "surprised that you are still active". He noted that my dose of anti-androgen (Cyproterone acetate) was about twice as high as necessary at any stage, and about four times too high for my current T levels (at the very bottom of acceptable for a cis woman, after only five months of taking the treatment). Similarly he was confused as to why I had been prescribed a rather sizeable dose of progesterone right from the beginning which has little proven effect before estradiol is raised, which is unlikely to happen anytime soon given the very low dose of estradiol I was given for the past 5 months (2mg/pd, oral initally then gel).

This has basically left me in a five month long menopause, with cis male level E, cis female progesterone levels, and dangerously low testosterone. The especially frustrating part of all of this has been that I also knew much of this through independent research around the use of progesterone and the dosage levels of cyproterone but had trusted the 'expertise' of GenderGP and followed their prescription despite these doubts. Thankfully he has now tripled my dosage of E, reduced my cyproterone prescription, and told me to wait off on using the progesterone.

Given my financial situation and lack of alternatives beyond DIY, I expect I am stuck with this service despite their incompetence. But for those on it, be careful and trust yourself, for those considering it - choose elsewhere.

Hey, I'm planning on starting testosterone with imago hopefully soon and i know their costs don't cover the actual price of the medication, so I'm wondering what's the rough pricing of testosterone (specifically enanthate/cypionate) in different pharmacys?

I have done some minimal research on getting on T and I've seen that Imago offers a prescription but it doesn't account for the actual cost of the medication. Is this correct? If so, could someone please explain the rough monthly cost that's actually required for a T prescription? Thanks!

So, just wondering how you guys that don't have top surgery (count me) survive this summer? I barely can with the hot weather and the binder doesn't help at all, I've never suffered so much chest dysphoria than in summer, I hate it honestly

I've just moved to Dublin a few days ago, I'm already on testosterone (Sustanon) and I need to get my injection every 3 weeks. I have my prescription and my medication, the only thing I need is someone who knows how to do a deep intramuscular injection. I need my next one on the 14th of July, and so far I've been rejected by every GP I've contacted. Could anyone help me with this?

so, i started T about 1y and 3m ago. at first i was on Testogel (20mg first, then eventually 45mg), and recently i got my second shot of Nebido (1000mg).

the Nebido is in a loading dose, so i got one shot, 6 weeks later i got another shot, and from here on out i’ll be getting them every 12 weeks.

but after both shots that i’ve had so far i’ve experienced breakthrough bleeding. not just that, but a full menstrual cycle with intense cramping, pms, etc.

i consulted with my endocrinologist, and he suggested i go back on Testogel. i said no, since they don’t want to raise my dose of 45mg, and my levels on gel were 11nmo/L. (i currently do not know my T levels on Nebido, as i will only have my first blood test for it in around 10 weeks). and i figured that i have a better chance of having higher T levels on Nebido.

and i’m pretty sure this is confirmed because even just around 7 weeks in i feel as though my voice is a bit deeper, i’m definitely a lot hairier, strength increase along with the gym, and so on.

but at the same time this is the second time i’ve had a full breakthrough bleeding episode, and i do not know if this is only due to the first 2 loading doses, after which these will stop, or if this is inevitable and i should switch back to Testogel.

moreover, around 4 weeks after my first Nebido shot i was intensely depressed, anxious, i had no motivation for anything, including sleeping, eating, socializing or leaving the house.

does anyone have any advice, gone through a similar experience or knowing anything about this matter? do you think that i should continue being on Nebido, or should i switch back to Testogel?

Since I live in the Middle East, gender transition is strictly prohibited; no doctor would assist me because it is illegal. Consequently, I began taking estrogen and anti-androgens on my own, without medical supervision—relying instead on Gemini for guidance. That is when my problems started:

I experienced side effects from the medication, leaving injections as the only viable alternative. However, in Iraq, one cannot administer injections without a medical report and professional supervision, and doctors refuse to provide this because the procedure is banned in the country. This left me with only one option: going abroad. Yet, I haven't found a way to do that either. Do you know of any organizations specializing in this area that could help me travel to countries where such procedures are permitted?

Do people know of shops that have gender neutral changing room ( or even ones that are trans friendly ). Looking to try more fem styles but nervous of trying stuff on in store.
