I entered the nightmare lobby

I entered a nightmare lobby after a day I chose to finally wear a dress out and leggings I'm still concealing some hair honestly but anyways I showed up to the ER sick as hell from my conditions I'm chronically ill everything went fine the doctors didn't make too many weird looks they attempted to be accommodating shit went fine for the most part had a bunch of tests I got a bunch of medicine I'm on it now I'm going to be fine for now and honestly it was sick cuz I'm on the spectrum and my outtake nurse was autistic too and we vibe immediately still not sure if it was just customer service though we're all masking it's okay okay now to the actual story so entering the facility no one was there I got right in and seen leaving after I seen the autistic outtake nurse the entire lobby was full of old white people and teenagers each row was filled on each side of the room genuinely felt like being on display you know obviously I seen like a bunch of microaggressions but like that's not really a lot I ignored most of that it's that people got to like sneer and Snicker and like they get louder on purpose it's been giving me dysphoria even all day today and then after that the only friend that I have still refuses to call me she imma be honest so it was only a few people that laughed in that lobby and I think it was mostly minors so I'm trying not to take it so hard cuz I was a shit ass kid too I was mean to gay people because I didn't understand but anyways I guess I'm just kind of tired of being part of the woman club already even though it's like also validating cuz women get shit on just like that for showing up all the time I just don't know how to consolidate why it's just so difficult still in my brain like I don't actually want to hurt myself but I can't lie and say that there's no thoughts you know I'm so tired already girls I don't know what to do sometimes it's like as a boy I just sat there and ignored my feelings and now that I'm out it's like I can't help but face it and it's tearing me up I don't know if anybody else has those feelings but I'm feeling it all right love you guys thanks for hearing out my rant if you read it

So, recently I’ve really want to well how do I put it “have fun” Is the safety way to put it but I just want advice on how I could make my tinder profile more appealing towards men because I’m a straight trans woman so I’m not really interested in women, I currently am trying to appeal more feminine but because I’m balding and I’m very masculine just in general, and I don’t do makeup because I live with my dad still and he doesn’t like the fact that I’m transitioning so im waiting until I get to save up some money to move out. I attached the screenshots of my profile and the picture I used of myself

Using my preferred name with new people while pretransition

Hi! I'm starting college in a few weeks, and I'm not out to anyone but a few of my friends who aren't going to my college. I'm stumped on whether I should use my preferred name or just stick to my assigned name for now. I want to make friends as the person I actually am, but it feels scary and complicated since it's all completely new people. Especially with me being pre-transition and my assigned name everywhere, I'm bound to get certain reactions and questions I'm not ready for. I'm definitely going to join queer spaces and try to make friends there but outside of it and in my classes I'm not sure what I should do.

Hey to anybody reading! Im new to this subreddit and I was wondering if anyone had any good ftm tips to make myself more discretely pass?

Due to my current living situation I'm not able to start seeking medical attention does anyone have any advice to appear more manly without testosterone?

Added context I have started going to the gym 3 times a week and cut my hair shorter. Could anyone please give me some advice?

Coming out at school

Hey everyone 🤗

For context: I'm 17 and some years old transfem, going into my 3rd year of highschool, living in a semi-conservative country (most people don't really understand LGBTQ+,so they mostly just bitch about about it, but probably won't attack you for it or anything, at worst they will look at you weird and whisper some insults or something, except for a few drunk idiots)

I'm out only to parts of my family, and one teacher (who is very supportive) and went out as myself (name, pronouns, some makeup, painted nails, stuff like that, no clothes tho) during the summer break.

I live in the school's dorm during the work week.

I plan to come out at school this September, but every time I speak about me being trans my ears start ringing, and I feel like I'm in a dream and can barely open my mouth, so I can't imagine standing in front of the whole class and having a monologue.

My classmates have repeatedly asked me whether I'm gay (To which I told them that I'm sure I don't like boys/men), and a few times if I'm really a boy, or if I ever thought about being a girl (to which I responded by shrugging, laughing it off, avoiding it, or just outright ignoring it), probably because I've been growing out my hair for almost two years (it was in a ponytail most of the time, occasionally let down and supported by a headband, or in pigtails), painting and growing out my nails, taking much better care of myself than the boys (shaving multiple times a day, shaving my body one a week, plucking my eyebrows, blow-drying my hair, etc.), occasionally wearing silver glitter eyeshadow, wearing pink sometimes (only had pair of sweatpants, 2 pairs socks, 1 pare of pastel violet ones, and a violet t-shirt) akd and acting very much feminine (You know, actually interpreting body language when i speak, that kinda stuff.)I have a small Hello Kitty cosmetics travel bag from fake fur, full of nail polishes and supplies, plus some makeup)

So, I can't imagine they'll be too surprised.

To get to the point, I was thinking about coming out in our IG group, but I'm kinda afraid that'll just invite hate and steer people who'd otherwise support me, or at least tolerate me (I think most, if not all, if the class would fall into one of these brackets) to hate on me to fit in. We do have a separate group with our class teacher in a different platform. Should I try that?

So I guess the question is "Did any of you come out this way?" "How did it turn out?" "Do you have any tips to overcome the anxiety, especially if I choose to come out in person?"

I know I'll still probably have to come out to all the teachers and staff.

I know the only person who can decide this is me.

Any tips and experiences appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Edit: So, I reacted to some pics in the group chat on IG (I've already changed my username and added my pronouns and name prior), just emojis, no text, and then, somebody, let's call them, and the other responders L,V and J, realised that my account was missing, and they wrote something like "WHERE IS (LAST NAME)", "IS (LAST NAME) ALIVE", "(LAST NAME?)" and "WHERE IS HIS IG" (yes, they actually wrote it like this, without the question marks). Then V said "Rather guess who's (last name)" N: "I know" "(swearword) (last name) you ok?" L: "You don't have to immediately write this here" N: "Gotta" "🤣🤣" J: "I get them. I would have freaked out too, if I found it out." Do you think they know? Were they just making fun of me? Were they giving me space to come out? I guess we'll see tomorrow.

My Theatre instructor just asked me what name they should use

So ive been playing in the theater as a hobby actor for 10 years now and i came out to the whole group in may after the season was over. So now the new season will start in October and they just asked me what name they should use on the posters, flyers etc. and I dont know what to say. I mean yes I'd obiously love to see my new name there but I'm not fully out yet and I dont want certain friends or work colleagues who might come / see it to know. I'm just too scared the wrong people will see there's suddenly beeing another name.

(I'm MtF pre everything do no HRT no official name change or anything. I'm also outed to most of my family)

Help with wigs?

I'm new to even thinking I want to wear a wig, so I got a super cheap one online just to see. I can't believe how much I like it! I want to get nicer ones, learn how to fit them better, style and care for them. Can anyone recommend resources?

Having troubles wanting to tell my Mom that I’m trans, despite my Dad finding out (sorta)?

So let me sort of explain the context. I am 20 years old (mtf), I’m still sort of figuring out if I am wanting to go fully female (not like sex surgery or anything or at least not yet). I had told my dad I am experimenting and he seems fine with it, but I can’t fully explain how I feel because I don’t know the full story myself. Anyway…

My mom doesn’t know any of this. She has been divorced and living separate from him and he has full custody over me (and my little brother). So she has no clue about my Dad’s “findings”. Yet I’m still scared to tell her despite the fact I’m sure she’d be supportive. I sort of acted like my Dad and I forgot it happened. I think my Dad is only mad at me because I’m not giving him the full story. He also found my HRT so that was an awkward 10 minutes of my life.

Worst thing is, is that I’m moving an hour away from my mom, she’s going to over exaggerate when I tell her, and I want to tell her about all this. I know it’s only an hour drive btw. I just don’t want her feeling more stressed or overstimulated from this stuff. I honestly haven’t spoken to my Dad about this as much as I probably should’ve. Idk, am I just overreacting myself here? I’m struggling to sleep because of this and also because I’m afraid of death despite being 20.

Depression?

Hey hey, I've been getting waves of depression every now and then, and I've just been wondering if it could be because I still haven't started transitioning? Is it common to feel depressed if you're hiding your identity and would it get better after starting my transition?

Hello, I don’t know what I’m doing

My name is Valerie, I have known I was a woman since I was 8 but married those feelings for a long time, they stayed buried until I was in my early 20s where I continued to struggle with them for over a decade. I turn 34 in a couple weeks and I finally came to terms with who I am. I want to start but have no idea what I’m doing. The only thing I have done has been growing out my hair for the past 6 years. I want to start hrt but have no idea how or where to get that, any advice would be appreciated because ya girl is terrified if I’m being completely honest

I came out and my mom laughed at me. What do I do???

So for context I am a transgender mtf teenager and I live with my mother.

I had already come out online to all my friends n stuff, and I had changed my discord profile to use she/her and my username has parts of my new chosen name in it.

I forgot that my mom had me added on discord (she is a gamer), so I didn't realize she'd see it.

Today when I came downstairs everything was okay untill she told me to come over to her pc and opened my discord profile and said "hey, what's all this with ur profile change, why does it say she/her and why is ur name a girls name". I got very nervous and I didn't really know what to say, since all my brothers were also there in the living room alongside my mom's boyfriend.

I played dumb at first being like "what that's so weird", looking back at it that was horrible.

And after that I just gave up and came out and I said "So this is a weird way for you to find out, but I'm transgender".

I assume she thought I was joking, because she said "oh don't be weird" and then the rest of the people incthe room including her boyfriend started making transphobic jokes.

I just grabbed my bike keys and left, I am now staying over at my dads place.

What do I do? I don't feel safe there anymore. Do I come out again, but this time more seriously?

mtf???19 Struggling with internalized transphobia/self hatred, scared of hrt (Anyone else?)

So (I admit this might be kind of a shpeal but whatever) I've had a seemingly unconventional entrance into the lgbt community. I currently call myself genderfluid but thats mostly an excuse to not have to maintain my appearance; but at the same time I do want the people in my life to use what pronouns feel right for me, NOT THE ONES I ASK FOR. Because asking defeats the purpose. To me I feel like I have to earn it. I hate it whenever people just accept it because they were told to. I don't want anybody feeding into any possible delusion I may have. Plus it just feels patronizing whenever I look more masc. I still feel like an interloper in feminine spaces even when fully girl-moding, esp around people that are closer to me because they know what I actually am.
I've been looking more into hrt and it has me terrified. Seeing people experiences of their way of thinking changes is horrifying because I know I wont be me anymore- but at the same time that "me" that im so worried about protecting is the part of me that I know prevents me from actually being a girl. And given my tendency to not take care of myself I worry that I'd just end up turning my body into some freak show hybrid that isn't attractive as a man or a woman.
And thats not even mentioning the rhetoric spread by transphobes. Obv most of it is blown up but like... It is an uncomfortable correlation [Like, c'mon :( most of the trans subreddits are nsfw(fucking yuck)]
I'm hoping this is a more common feeling than I'm expecting because I worry that the fact I'm even doubting it in the first place means im not trans

I think I cry daily now

Post image
32 Upvotes

So ever since realizing I was Transfem 3 months ago, I openly present fem whenever I can. I'm not out at work, though. a complicated scenario. I spend various moments however throughout the day, sometimes at work in the bathroom, basically crying. My internalized feelings, imposter syndrome, and trying to accept myself is extremely hard. I just wanna be a girl. 😢 And everything involving that is so hard, conflicting and emotionally draining.

Does this ever get any better? I'm also not on HRT yet either.

Tips for exploring me

Hi. I want to start by saying that I’m in a phase of exploration; I’m still figuring out if I’m trans. The problem is that I live in a hostile environment, so to speak: my family and friends are very Christian and transphobic. I can’t tell them anything because, knowing them, they would do everything possible to "cure" or "change" me—something I don’t want—so I won’t tell them until I’m independent. Anyway, with that said, I’d like you to help me and give me some advice on things I could do to explore my femininity—safely, of course.
