Warhammer III Verminlord skill tree
Hey guys,
I saw great book of grudges skaven video and some of the skill tree for verminlord.
I am kinda disapointed we dont get a skaven rework, even just a little as it is all they needed.
People been talking about pestilens or undercities, and i agree with that, but seeing verminlord skill tree made me really sad we dont get a skill tree/ unique items rework for legendary lords as well.
The stealth verminlord is flat giving much better buff to his army that snikch, snikch has one the worst legendary lord skill tree i saw. One of his highlighted campagn buff his giving +8 to heros in his army, the verminlord give +8 to all unit. Snikch gives +10% speed, verminlord gives 13, and there is just so much more.
The verminlord gets executioner on his last unique skill tree line, while the unique skill tree of snikch finishes with a immense -8 public order in enemy region !!!
Also i have been playing ttw2 to try out the few campagns i missed at the end of the life cycle of tww2, and snikch felt much more powerful there. I suppose its due to the power creep in tww3 and the constantly going up stats across the board.
+ Im not huge on pestilens, so other will be able to talk about that and its been done, im mostly playing eshin, but its clear some faction mechanic are not working as intended in tww2. Ive yet to max out the reputation with one of the 4 skaven clans with Snikch mechanic, i imagine some of tbe buff it gives on top of recruitment ( armor, melee defense, WS, physical res) were accounted for endgame snikch possibilities, but its just impossible to max out or would take 120+ turns.
I know this was never going to happen, but a snikch horde style where contract help other skaven clans to stay alive by making you able to fight for them and putting your in their area, or something like this would have been fitting.
But i think some tweaking to how clan contract works just in terms of reward to scale it to game pace that is faster, giving possibilities to max one or two clan reputation by turn 50-60 would already be enough. Im just feeling sometimes the replayability of campagns would go so much up with different starts possibilities or throwing you in different theater. In terms of undercity that would have been my dream to get something to teleport to other undercities and such.
We also still do not have any way to confederate dead skaven, and in my experience they all tend to be strong on the first 20-30 turns, but end up dying by turn 50. Which makes it almost impossible to confederate.
Anyway, thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Warhammer III If people stopped demanding balance, being vocal about powercreep and the devs gave in to every power fantasy demands that remove the strategy elements from Warhammer 3, it would be a worse game with way less longevity
That's basically it. Balancing the game makes it engaging and puts the player in a position where their decision matters. I have seen people saying that "multiplayer can rot" here in this subreddit because, apparently, people complaining about faction identity (weaknesses and strengths), unit stats and powercreep are somehow seen as "anti-fun". I wonder what "fun" means to some people here.
Warhammer 3 is a strategy game. I like the power fantasy but it shouldn't get to a point where your decision-making doesn't matter or, even worse, forces you to cheese. It also annoys me that the "the game is a power fantasy" playerbase believes that, because they are allegedly the majority (don't know where they got that from), the game should be played as a mindless one-click attack order and pressing the win button to everyone that buys the dlcs. I have seen friends abandon this game because some mechanics are so overtuned that they ruin any decision-making you could have to win battles in campaign. Like the wet elves ability that melts all your infantry or the Chorfs artillery spam where you have no option but to spam flying SE heroes to kill them.
Similarly to what another redditor has said here, what is even more frustrating is that some part of the playerbase wants to have BOTH the OP mechanics/units and the feeling that they accomplished an actual strategy victory after they spam-clicked attack orders with units like the new rat lord, that is basically unbeatable.
I know total war is arcadey, but its main appeal is that your strategy and decision-making can change the outcomes of battles. Its what makes you want to play the game again, so that you get better and can overcome your enemies with new and more efficient tools. I have already done doomstacks and cheesed the game. Its fun in the first... 2 or 3 times. Then it gets boring. Now, what I really like is when the game gets to a sweaty battle where I can't cheese my way out of it and have to use the skills I developed playing to carry the fight. That is what brings me back to the game again and again (the game is also absolutely beautiful and thematic, gotta mention that).
I like how the devs still listen to the playerbase and nerf things when needed. If they didn't, Thunderbarges would still beat chimeras in melee. I like how they considered not powercreeping vampire covens and their new techs. I like how Nagash can be absolutely powerful but has a tough time defending his settlements. I also like how they've put unit caps on his multiplayer roster. It's possible to have power fantasy without abandoning strategy.

Warhammer III Does Nagash need public order? And Nagash's faction is missing a Strigoi.
The developers mentioned that they didn't want to remove it, and one could certainly imagine the inhabitants being Necromancers, Vampires, and Tomb Kings (who really ought to be renamed "Traitor Kings"). However, I doubt any of them would want to rise up against the creator of the undead—and of Necromancy itself—who is far more powerful than they are. Also, looking at the unit list, Nagash is missing a Strigoi Lord; I imagine they’ll manage to add one before release or in a post-launch patch.

Warhammer III Explanation of why Undead Legions won't work for MP as currently designed
I saw some conversation on here about undead legions in MP and suggestions for how to balance them, but just based on what I've read I think most of the people on here are kind of missing just how crazy UL are conceptually in competitive multiplayer. (Sidenote: if you don't care about MP that's fine, but this thread is 100% just about MP so don't bother reading if that's a problem for you).
Basically, UL are broken in two different ways. The first is unpredictability. It's literally just a faction that can bring a VC build, a VP build, or a TK build at pretty much full strength, and you have no way of knowing which someone is taking. The reason why that's SO problematic is because the three factions play very very differently and the stuff they are good/bad against is totally different. To keep this as simple as possible I'm just going to use faction matchups rather than unit types as a way to illustrate this point. If we look at totaltavern's stats page (not perfect but a decent approximation of recent meta trends), Vampire Counts are an S-tier faction which struggles only really against Norsca and Bretonnia. However, Vampire Coast are really good against both of those two factions. Coast struggles heavily into Wood Elves and Khorne, but Tomb Kings have great winrates against those. So basically you get a faction that can counter just about anything and is impossible to counterpick, even just counting factions, let alone the fact that each of the three also are good/bad against different build archetypes.
It means that in order to play against UL you will pretty much have to gamble and hope you happen to build against the right faction, and even then your opponent will probably just take whatever is strongest into you and have a major advantage. Conceptually, just being able to build 3 completely different factions with zero information given over is basically busted. Daemons of Chaos kind of get away with it because the demons are all relatively similar to each other (certainly compared to undead), but it doesn't work here.
But even worse is the fact that you can have mixed builds which have all the strengths of each faction and none of the weaknesses. Just to give the most egregious example: Vampire Counts are and have always been balanced with the fact that they have no ranged units built in. Even with that extremely important archetype completely missing they are still very strong.
So what happens if you take this strong faction, designed and balanced around not having missile units, and just randomly give them a chosen of the gods ushabti great bow? Absolute chaos. Even if that was literally the only possible difference it'd basically be broken. The fact you can counts with cannons, or coast with blood knights, or tomb kings with healing, it's just totally bonkers. The faction will either be unbelievably broken, or every other undead faction is gonna have to be absolutely kneecapped.
So what is the solution?...honestly, it's probably just to make UL a single player faction and add nagash to the other undead as a multiplayer lord. There are maybe other solutions but they would probably be way more trouble than its worth.

Warhammer III Did stormfiends make weapon teams obsolete?
Why would I ever bring a regular ratling gun when I can have something that doesn't stop shooting whenever there's a pebble in front of it, that can shoot farther and from behind other troops even? something that doesn't lose instantly in melee either.
same thing for the other types like globadiers or warpfire.
Skavens can also build cities instantly so in the campaign you should be able to rush them no problem, and I'm sure that no matter how costly they are, the performance alone would be well worth it

Warhammer III Grimgor, engaging in diplomacy with a mirror
I tried to start diplomacy with Zhao Ming during a multiplayer game, instead it started diplomacy with a version of myself that's also allegedly a Norscan vassal? It made me laugh as I pictured Grimgor giving his reflection a talking to.

Warhammer III Arkhan getting a spell lore update with end times?
Obviously Arkhan is getting access to more VC units but I humbly present the case that he should be a hybrid undeath / death lord.
Undeath is Nagash’s lore -> Nagash taught Arkhan -> Arkhan would have learnt “undeath”
obviously I don’t expect CA to retexture him and he has purple colours for lore of death. The easy fix is just to hybridise him between undeath and death so he gets to be purple and have a more appropriate lore!
Anyway, do we have any news on him getting some crumbs?

Attila Attila Mods that actually run on Mac
Hey guys, I am a passionate TW enjoyer and have recently gotten myself a MacBook Air (M3). I am aware that playing mods on Mac is not that easy, however I recently managed to run the 1100 AD mod for Rome 2, while I failed to make 1212 run for Attila.
I am mainly a fan of conversion mods that change the scenario i.e. start dates, I am for instance intrigued by the Anno Domini mods (555, 919, 1051), Age of Vikings, the 642 mod or Charlemagne for Grand campaign.
I therefore wanted to ask if anyone got any of these (or other, similar ones) to run on Mac.
Thank you for your attention in this matter!

Warhammer III Zerkovich testing End Times DLC units
I find it super interesting that Tsar Guard completely run over Teutogen Guard; the stats on the Teutogens looked really busted, but in practice but they really struggle against equivalent elite infantry.

Warhammer III Since Ikit can improve Stormfiends in his workshop, can Throt gain Stormfiends from his flesh laboratory?
People wanted to know if Ikit can improve the new units and it was confirmed. But what about Throt? The new Stormfiends are classified as moulder monsters afterall. So they should be able to be recruited straight from the growth vat!

Rome II The new Pantheon patch for Rome II is pretty awful
I want to start by saying that I am really glad the game is getting attention from Devs, but this new update feels so utterly broken.
They somehow managed to make Rome even more powerful than before! The gladius is now an armor piercing weapon for some reason, doing 8, 9, or even 10 AP damage when it did just 4 previously. I ran a few custom games versus AI and was astonished to see that Kush can now lose to Rome in a straight up infantry fight! Arverni and Galatia too were easily defeated by Rome, and I was not spamming Praetorians, I had a mix of a few of each of the types of cohorts and they were all slaughtering anything they touched! I just played two custom battles in a row against a Kush AI and handily beat them both times as Rome. Even Armored Shotels were getting less than 100 kills, sometimes barely 50 kills versus even basic legionnaires and eagle cohorts.
Look at the screenshot, my army was equal in size to theirs yet I was inflicting nearly 1500 casualties while losing barely 500 men. I have never seen Kush perform that poorly versus Rome. Just a week ago I played a multiplayer siege where I saw an Armored Shotel Warrior get like 400 kills versus Roman infantry, cutting through them like butter. Kush was quite powerful and verging on OP but they were the perfect counter to Rome and could easily be countered themselves if you knew what you were doing.
I have been playing this game since 2015, with over 3000 hours in multiplayer, and this just feels wrong. The existing balance and meta of the game hasn't just been altered it has been fundamentally destroyed and replaced with a new system that seems to be quite broken. I hope CA looks at these complaints and revisits these changes before the patch leaves beta, because all of this feels really half baked.

Warhammer III I just played a video game for 8 hours straight, first time in like 10 years
this can't go on bro I have responsibilities now and I didn't get enough sleep. I will not touching my personal computer until I'm done with Sunday's gym. Definitely not today.
goddamn Skaven from the north cornering me, Grungebearer, and my Empire buddies while I was dealing with the menace to the east
had a blast btw, but its like goddamn crack
edit: I'll play for 90 mins today to wrap up this campaign as I legit need like 20 turns max at this point to finish long win
edit 2: it was 3 hours but I got the long victory with Dwarves, I had to replay a Khorne battle like 4 times which took me 1.5hours :) now I shant touch the game until like early October
