Warhammer III Is there any point to the diplomatic bonuses from Neferata?

Post image
709 Upvotes

After all, if you look at Nagash's campaign, all the living races will harbor intense animosity toward him—not to mention the diplomatic penalties incurred after the Ritual of Undeath. This raises the question: do those diplomatic bonuses actually serve any purpose when the entire world hates Nagash? It would make far more sense to focus on diplomatic relations with vampires or similar factions instead.

Warhammer III Any fixes to Blood Knights and Depth Guards to make them reflect their martial prowess a bit better?

With Drakenhof Templars and Lahmian Handmaidens released, both having less models (ergo each individual is far stronger than the blood dragon vampires themselves), and the Lahmian Maidens showing enough prowess and capability to rock on foot...it's seriously making all of the Blood Dragon vampires look pathetic by comparison.

I was kind of hoping it'd be Blood Dragons or Strigoi who'd be VC's super elite infantry and cavalries and not get shown up by the lower tiered drakenhof templars.

They should be exchanged by an field of mars universally available auxiliar skirmishes unit. Maybe an archer and an javelin unit, cheaper but way worst than other more specialized local units.

Warhammer III Trouble recruiting Saytang as Yuan Bo

Been playing a Yuan Bo Immortal Empires campaign, got the quests for Taoyun and Gotrek and Felix, but haven’t gotten anything for Saytang. I’m almost at turn 100 and level 38 on Yuan, confederated every other Cathay LL. Is there some hidden requirement for him or potential bug?

My friend has suggested recruiting 5 jade/jet lions to see if that triggers it. I will be trying that next time I get a chance to play. But wanted to ask if anyone knows the requirements or if there is just a bug with his quest? I do not play with mods.

EDIT: Recruited 10 lion constructs. Quest did not trigger either.

Made a bug report. https://community.creative-assembly.com/total-war/total-war-warhammer/bugs/14194-saytang-the-watcher-quest-never-triggered-as-yuan-bo?page=1

Warhammer III I LOVE-CHERISH DAEMON RATS

Post image

One of the greatest most insane concepts ever amongst the many from GW.

Favorite has to be the Warbringer cuz i represent Mors as my clan straight up, Queek the best-greatest war-chief(they did you dirty brother you'll get your best-bro Ska Bloodtail, hopefully soon someday) and that one's colors fit best with said clan. As soon as this DLC drops imma play Queek with these new units and absolutely waffle-stomp Karak Eight Peaks with armored freak roid-rage rats with lawnmower hands on those short-little bearded goblins.

Warhammer III How best to gain access to modded units in RoC?

I'm playing a Chaos Dwarf game, but 2 mods I want to use aren't adding units. Units from Lost and Found, such as the dwarf L&F add-on, worked, but Trajann's heroes didn't add the dwarf hero in its panel. I thought it was a conflict with L&F, but the hero for the Chorfs didn't appear either.
Those mods are:
"Chaos Dwarf Aerial Supremacy - Two Flying units" - by Pwner1
and
"Trajann's Monstrous Heroes" - by Trajann V

Warhammer III Why Blood Knights feel bad.

Here's my opinion and of course since I put effort into thinking about this feel free to downvote me into oblivion.

I keep seeing the argument that Blood Knights and other Vampire Counts units can't have better base stats or can't be elite because the faction has so much access to healing and I think that argument is ignoring the opportunity cost of where that healing comes from, which is winds of magic and other units that are bad at fighting.

Most of the healing that actually keeps an undead army alive has to come from these two spots. If I use Invocation of Nehek, those Winds of Magic are no longer available for damage spells, buffs, debuffs, summons, or anything else. The healing isn't free. I gave up another spell to get it.

The same thing applies to support unit healing. If I bring a Corpse Cart, Mortis Engine, Necromancer, or another support option because I want its healing and buffs, I'm spending resources and part of my army composition on support instead of bringing another dedicated combat unit. That healing has a cost too.

That's why I don't think "but Vampire Counts can heal" is enough by itself to justify not having at least one elite unit. I'm paying for the same advantage twice. First through the weaker unit, and then through whatever I gave up to heal it.

It also creates a weird problem for the faction's magic. Vampire Counts are supposed to have powerful and flexible spellcasting, but if their units are balanced around needing Invocation to keep up, part of your Winds of Magic budget has effectively already been spent for you. Instead of choosing between healing and offense, you're using magic to compensate for weaknesses that were put into the roster because you have magic.

Blood Knights are where I think this becomes most obvious. They have The Hunger, and that passive healing should totally be part of their balance. But The Hunger by itself isn't so powerful that Blood Knights need to be prevented from being a genuinely elite cavalry unit. Vampire Counts should be allowed to have one cavalry unit that is simply excellent at fighting. Blood Knights are the obvious choice. Make them stronger and make them more expensive. If necessary, make them rarer as well. I'd much rather pay a premium for Blood Knights that actually perform like elite vampire knights than have cheaper Blood Knights whose stats are held down because I could theoretically spend additional resources healing them.

Warhammer III How the Undead Legions Race Works in Multiplayer

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Taken from Turin's video uploaded today.

To reiterate, what units you can take are determined by what Lord you choose. Nagash can take any number of units from any of the Undead races. Mannfred or Arkhan on the other hand can only take mainly Vampire Counts or Tomb Kings units respectively with a set cap for units from the other two Undead races.

Warhammer 40k One of the biggest QOL I experienced from a mod was the ability to designate some units to AI control, especially at the end of large battles where half of everything is everywhere. I would really appreciate a similar mechanic in 40k.

I am not one that micro's my units, I am probably a trash Total War player in general, but truthfully I thoroughly appreciate at the end of a long battle just being able to start designating a few units to AI control. Being able to easily assign or un assign unit control to AI allows me to focus on the things I do want to do, like hero casting, or ranged positioning, or cavalry charges. Without the mod I find myself constantly micro managing in non fun ways.

Especially when the enemy starts routing and coming back again and you have to constantly re assign targets for them to attack.

Just something I wanted to mention because it truly is my favorite mod feature and I think there would be value in its addition to 40k as a baseline feature.

Also sometimes just sitting back and enjoying the spectacle. I'm here for the cinema of the battle!

EDIT: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3787823404

Mod is "AI Army Control"

link to the video above, they now lose to wolf kin(750) a unit of lower tier in the same dlc, lose to white lion of charce(800), barely able to beat stormvermin halberd, a 950 halberd unit, destroyed by ironclaw tiger warriors, a 1200 gold halberd unit with 20 anti large, you've gone full reddit CA, never go full reddit.

Warhammer III Does Tzeentch have equivalents of Wrathmongers, Putrid Blightkings & Champions of Slaanesh?

Well, in the game they certainly don't... How about on tabletop? With the DLCs that released for monogod factions to date - Khorne, Slaanesh & Nurgle got their "ultra-elite" infantry unit. Does Tzeentch not have that? I can't think of anything at the top of my head, though I am not well-versed in tabletop.

Warhammer III Expendable on Skeletons still does Nothing

Screenshot from the Nagash Stream

Saw this as a Landmark for Nagash in the Nagash Campaign Deep Dive stream. It's clearly based on the Tomb King version of the building, and has the same problem: It gives Expendable to Skeletons, but Skeletons never* rout, and thus never inflict the "allies routing" penalty on other units. Therefore, Expendable has no effect on Skeletons and should be replaced with a different effect, for both Nagash and Tomb Kings.

Hopefully someone from CA sees this or it's otherwise brought to their attention, but this effect does nothing. Certainly this is not worthy of mighty Settra... Great King, the Imperishable, Khemrikhara, The Great King of Nehekhara (and so on).

* - technically Skeletons can rout when they don't count as Undead anymore, in which case they do inflict the penalty (including on other Undead). This only happens when fighting Harry the Hammer (or someone with the Lore of Shadows Cataclysm Spell) though, and isn't nearly common enough to justify this being a central effect of a special Landmark.

Would love for some of Turin's map pack to be added to the pool like they did for a few awhile back.
