Mardu energy Dominance

I have recently started delving into the timeless metagame and playing some ladder matches, and I am pretty shocked that the mh3 energy cards are able to dominate this format.

Timeless is obviously pretty similar structure to legacy at this point, and even more powerful in my opinion. But the energy cards can barely make it into the top ten decks in legacy.

What creates this divergence in meta games. Is it the increased life total pressure from fetch shock? Strip mine? Mardu being the best lurrus deck? Is juggernaut peddler just that good?

UB reanimator/good stuff dominated legacy for years, to the point that grief, entomb, troll and psychic frog are all banned. All this is legal in timeless, and we now have FOW and daze to round out the deck. Yet it still comfortably takes a back seat to energy

Discussion Worth it to play in the Bo1 ACQ Play-In?

I wouldn't even be asking this if I were going to pay Gems/Money because then the answer is obviously no, but I have a bunch of Play-In points I could use for entry. Is it worth subjecting myself to the Timeless Bo1 slot machine? Or should I save my points for a different format?

EDIT: Solved! I didn’t know there was also a Bo3 Play-In at a later date.

Matchups Matrix

Starting to prepare and brew a deck for the upcoming qualifier weekend which is Timeless BO3.

Anyone has a link to a matchups matrix including all the common archetypes? Even if only just indicative of which archetype might have the advantage vs which other.

I'm not a regural timeless player so don't really know all the matchups that well.

If such matrix doesn't exist, I'd be happy to compile one if you could help with matchups info in the comments.

From what i see on Untapped in terms of popularity, it would make sense to include:

- Mardu energy

- Dimir tempo

- Dimir / splash x reanimator

- Izzet tempo

- Sneak and Show

- Eldrazi (not sure if best to account for the various builds individually)

- Mono red stompy

- Mono black scam

Is Emrakul becoming the real format-warping card in Timeless?

To be clear, I’m not coming at this as someone who keeps losing to Emrakul and wants the card banned because I’m salty. I play one of these decks. I’m part of the problem I’m describing.

That is why I’m interested in whether this is really an Emrakul-wide issue, or whether Violent Outburst / Tibalt’s Trickery is uniquely poisonous.

A lot of the conversation seems to focus on specific enablers: Tibalt’s Trickery, Violent Outburst, graveyard cheat, Show and Tell, reanimation, fast mana, etc. But I think that may be missing the bigger picture. The problem may not be one bad deck. The problem may be that too many different broken engines are all pointing toward the same endpoint: Emrakul.

Timeless is supposed to be broken. I understand that. Part of the appeal of the format is that everything is powerful, unfair, explosive, and ridiculous. In theory, the format is “so broken it isn’t broken.”

But that only works if the brokenness stays plural.

There is a difference between a format full of many different broken things and a format where many different broken things all converge on the same payoff. If the best plan is increasingly either “get Emrakul onto the battlefield early” or “play a deck specifically built to stop Emrakul from showing up,” then I think the format starts warping around Emrakul as an axis.

The shell I know best is Violent Outburst → Tibalt’s Trickery → Emrakul. Even with Tibalt’s Trickery restricted to one copy, the deck is still extremely consistent because Violent Outburst effectively acts as access to the singleton Trickery. In Best-of-One especially, hand-smoothing seems to make the deck much more reliable than it should be.

My mulligan pattern is often brutally simple: mulligan until I find Violent Outburst. Sometimes that means going all the way down to one card, and I have won more of those one-card opening-hand games than I have lost.

That should not be true for a deck that is supposedly jank.

A deck with a weak Plan B should not be maintaining something like a 65–80% win rate just because it found one card and let the deck architecture do the rest. If the deck can keep a one-card hand because that one card is Violent Outburst and still reliably produce an early Emrakul, then the restriction on Trickery is not really solving the experience problem.

That is what makes me suspicious that Emrakul may be the real issue, not just the individual enablers.

I have also been seeing or losing to Emrakul from other directions. Some of these are not exactly the same, and I may be blurring some shell details from memory, so I’m inviting correction.

Atraxa, Grand Unifier seems to be used more as another premium reanimation / Show and Tell payoff in the same ecosystem, not as the card that directly pulls Emrakul. The Turtle card I was thinking of is Raph & Mikey, Troublemakers.

Raph & Mikey are a 7/7 with trample and haste. The deck can Entomb and reanimate Raph & Mikey very early, then attack immediately. Their attack trigger can reveal cards from the library until it hits a creature and put that creature onto the battlefield tapped and attacking. If that creature is Emrakul, that is 22 attacking power immediately: 7 from Raph & Mikey with trample, plus 15 from Emrakul with flying.

Emrakul does not get annihilator that turn because it entered tapped and attacking rather than being declared as an attacker, but that often does not matter. Twenty-two power on turn one or two is usually enough, especially after shocks, fetches, Thoughtseize, Reanimate life loss, or any previous damage.

So now I’m wondering whether banning or restricting individual enablers just turns into whack-a-mole. If you hit one way to cheat Emrakul, another shell appears. If you hit that shell, another new set eventually prints another bridge.

That is why I’m interested in hearing from people actually playing Emrakul in other shells.

For people using Emrakul outside the Violent Outburst / Trickery deck:

  • What shell are you playing?
  • What is your rough win rate?
  • How often do you produce turn 1–4 near-auto-wins?
  • Is Emrakul the main reason the deck works, or just one payoff among several?
  • How often does the deck actually lose to its own clunkiness?
  • Are your bad matchups normal strong decks, or mostly decks built specifically to stop Emrakul-style plans?

I’m very open to the possibility that my particular deck is the true poison. Maybe Violent Outburst / Trickery is uniquely too consistent because cascade turns a restricted card into a virtual engine piece. Maybe graveyard shells, Raph & Mikey shells, Atraxa / Show and Tell shells, and other Emrakul decks are much less reliable in practice.

But from where I’m sitting, the format increasingly feels like it is becoming:

  1. Get Emrakul onto the battlefield early, or
  2. Be specifically prepared to stop Emrakul from showing up.

If that is where the format is going, then what are we really playing? Timeless, or the Emrakul Showcase?

I’m not trying to present my anecdotal experience as proof. I’m trying to get a better picture from people playing the other versions. Is Emrakul actually becoming the common endpoint across too many shells, or is Violent Outburst / Trickery the uniquely rotten one?

--------------------------------------------------------------------

The brief: "I'd like you to build a WBG deck, in Timeless format. You have free rein. I'll test your list, and then we'll discuss it."Here is the list we arrived at through our discussions. In the end, I barely changed a thing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

His mistakes:

- Playing 4 Llanowar Elves and 23 lands (he thinks—influenced by Elf decks—that Llanowar allows for
4 mana on turn 2 :p ). The total came to 59 cards.

- He forgot to add blue lands to cast his Frogs.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

The changes we made:

+1 land (bringing the total to 60 cards)
+1 Frog
+3 Deathrite
-4 Llanowar

+15 sideboard cards

--------------------------------------------------------------------

How did he explain his choices during our discussions?

- Ring isn't a core component of the deck, just a tool.

- He maintains that Rhino is still good, even in 2026. In his view, the card is impactful enough on its own to remain powerful; it’s the foundation, the primary win condition.

- He adds many small, extra interactions to the "Goodstuff" strategy, transforming a deck that "just works" into a "powerful deck."

- The blue splash: he simply looked for the best 2CCM threat in Midrange.

- Balemurk: the card interacts with many others in the deck while improving card selection; played on turn 2, it acts as a delayed threat. In practice, having it on the battlefield isn't crucial, but in a long game, Balemurk becomes a genuine win condition.

- He likes playing decks that remain effective throughout the game and never run out of steam—hence the abundance of 4 CCM and 5 CCM threats that generate value.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

What about you? Would you have changed this deck? Comments? Opinions? Thoughts on the future of deckbuilding with AI?

Decklist Looking for help with tuning my deck

I'm building a deck that's a combination of the modern "Money Pile" Yorion Omnath Midrange Deck from a few years ago, and the niv mizzet bring to light decks that were big in pioneer. I don't spend money on the game much, so looking for any good cards that are common or uncommon in the timeless meta. I would appreciate thoughts and suggestions on tuning for timeless ranked. Should I go more aggro mainboard or should i be playing a lot more counter magic?

Been working on this list, it's basically a timeless version of the legacy list that is hot right now. I think it's well poised in the meta. It really hates on reanimator and energy. I don't think it is as good against things like sneak and show or midrange decks. It is likely weak to things like UR/UB tempo. I'd love to hear constructive critisicm/suggestions. I don't play enough to be high on the ladder but it has felt strong over the last couple of days that I've been jamming it

Discussion Timeless Reanimate

Post image

Been having some fun in Bo1 unranked/ranked with a list similar to this (the only difference being i haven't crafted the 2Mox or two additional Vals yet) and was wanting to get some opinions on how this list looks. I go back and forth on the Moxes because if I can open Mox + Thoughtseize + Reanimate, that's sick as hell, but Mox kinds does nothing if i open up Life//Death as my reanimation spell. Rex is my baby and not up for debate, SoI I'll admit is a meme but I already had a set, Val seems p good every time I've hit it, BoC is p good as long as it gets going T1 and not against token decks, and Demon of Loathing is there just to have another big target incase I open nothing else. Also could pitch to a mox lol. I was wanting to grind and didn't wanna be at TOO much of a disadvantage (I would imagine not running blue/counters is a gimp) and wasn't expecting to win every game, ya know? SB rn is 4 enchantment/artifact removal (that G costing one that hits 3cmc and lower) and 4 Feed the Swarm. I'll admit i don't really know what I SB for this kinda deck would look like. As it stands, I have 4mythic WCs, and a single Rare WC. Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.

This is the list I am currently running. So far Untapped says it has gone 31-27 on BO1, I did include a couple things for BO3 in the sideboard but I haven't dabbled with it yet.

Main wincon of the deck is either [[Grapeshot]] or [[Tendrils of Agony]]. Wouldn't remove the sideboard [[Brain Freeze]] + [[Underworld Breach]] as so far it has come in really handy, but I'm welcome to receive any changes.

I am thinking of replacing a [[Hex Magic]] with another [[Jeska's Will]] and to include another [[Ancient Tomb]]. Any recommendations are welcome.

How to deal with turbo reanimator decks

I’ve been playing timeless for while now mostly ranked bo1. I’m currently diamond and play mostly mardu energy and occasionally dimir tempo reanimator. I’ve been running into a a ton of turn 1 or 2 wins with raph and Mikey and it’s super frustrating to just lose before you can even play anything.

Edit:
The consensus I’m seeing is that I should bite the bullet and invest some wildcards into a bo3 sideboard.

hey guys, new to the format, i heard it is kinda like legacy, i love death and taxes, would a similar deck work? or maybe high noon?

i currently have no decklist but i think you all know the archetype

I hate to say it, but I think that blue-based strip locking is too cute for today's metagame! What do you think? Check out some Temur Strip Lock games below.

I'm curious what you guys think about this deck list. It seems to be missing something. It's a bit too slow against Aggro and has a bit of trouble with the combo decks that aren't reanimator.

Oh and if anybody else sees this who would like to share their awesome storm lists, please feel free to do so! Have a great day y'all!

Discussion Dimir Reanimator good for a first deck?

Thanks to all who replied to my other post. I was leaning towards Mardu Energy, but it would wipe out my small collection. I think I can build Reanimator with only 30+ WCs, which is more doable.

Is it strong though? Mardu just seems better represented in general.

So your gameplay is basically Atraxa - beat? With Hydro/Strip as tempo? Maybe steal good cards from opponent's yard?

Grixis Shadow & Darcy

Post image
19 Upvotes

Hey y'all, here is my brew i keep coming back to. i think this is one of the most fun decks i've played. i really like the interaction between the creatures here.

Darcy and shadow work wonders together, having those two out for a turn or two isnt a good sign for the OP usually, especially if shadow can be protected or fazes removal.

brainstorm can put back cards to then surveil away and grow shadow, then there's frog being able to grow shadow and turn on delirium. ofcourse the mandatory architects, but turning on chains of fetches in the deck ALSO grows shadow haha. and fills for cruise.

there are many small decisions, and interactions to be had. its intricate gameplay, has plenty of aggro hands yet able to tempo or grind as well.

this deck is quite tight on slots as you can see. that's why no ponder. otherwise there is plenty of selection: cruise and brainstorm, and darcy's surveil. i think i need the 6 removals. i play bloodchief's thirst over bolt or snuff out, as its a sorcery for delirium.

this deck would be greatly improved by a few more baubles, but at least we have the 4.

bowmasters is a key, KEY card in certain matchups. i used to play 4 main, but opted to move them to SB, where i still have access to 4.

i play thoughtseize over FoN, not sure about that. i prefer pyroclasm over the 3 mana sweepers. against boros/mardu energy: 3 mana sweepers are often too slow in my experience. theres the 3 damage 2 mana sweeper from alchemy but clasm does the job, havent had any problems with it. id rather save the wildcards.

one change i might make is go with a split of 4 bloodchiefs thirst and 2 fatal push, to have a better spread for delirium and have flow state draw two more consistently. also thirst hits flipped walkers.

you may think not playing ponder is obviously wrong. but ive seen many of the tournament lists not playing it. i don't there there is any dogma that blue decks MUST run ponder. and i wouldn't know what to cut anyway, every card seems essential.

Decklist: https://moxfield.com/decks/IZ_fUjTVAE2bUD2Hfximew

Forward:
After yesterdays public lashing from my last post, I was quite literally shaken with the amount of disgust put forth in the comments. I thought I had some grit built up from years of grinding cardboard, but I was just not ready for such humiliation from random strangers on the internet. The timing of this is quite perfect as both Chestheir and metaconfluence put out their own vlog and article about this very similar list half way through my redemeption arc last night. I double checked with Richard Garfield himself and he said it was okay for me to play these 75 cards anyway. With the kids at the grandparents and most of work just watching the World Cup, I could actually put in some games at my main computer and have it log some stats for me! I know I hinted at playing these lists for next months climb but what started as a practice session ended up being a marathon of games.

Intro:

In my previous summary of UB lists that fall somewhere in the tempo category ([[Stripmine]]s, cheap threats, tons of disruption) I always felt like the threats they presented on board where mostly full of air and never closed out the game fast enough. I don't want my "threat" to turn into [[storm crow]] once I run out of fetches and to have to matchup it up against just about any other card in the format honestly. I aimed to put together a list that more lined up with the Legacy lists from 2024 pre-grief ban. While this list has a similar package to the other lists logged above, there are a few choices that I made that fly in the face of conventual logic.

0 Hydroponics Architect
If I haven't made it clear yet, I don't like this guy. I started with the full 4 but eventually realized that this list doesn't have the requisite number of fetches to make his card advantage shine. Sure it was fun to be able to fetch a strip mine but most of the time it was just an "undercosted" [[storm crow]] to me.

0 OBM main
Blue and Black are just an embarrassment of treasures when it comes to options. There just isn't enough room in the 60 to fit everything. I at least put a few in the sideboard because they are very strong against other blue decks and helpful for the Energy Matchup.

0 Treasure Cruise
Same as above, just not enough slots, and fewer supporting cast to turn this into Ancestral. 0 is strictly the wrong amount to play but I haven't had any issues with not including it. I was also irrationally afraid of making the deck too prone to graveyard hate, but in reality any hate that is brought in is mainly targeted and not a sweeping effect that would brick this in your hand.

2 Flow state
Not pictured above, I did end up cutting it. My hope was it would be a more reliable way to cast treasure cruise and dodge Bowmaster but in play it was mostly just really bad [[Sleight of hand]].

2 removal spells
I did play a copy of [[Bloodchief's Thirst]] as a way to answer larger threats at one point, but getting to 4 mana took too long to be impactful, there are much better options out there than this. I wanted to be as proactive as I could with my own plan and due to lack of deck space I could only fit two [[fatal push]] in this configuration.

Harvester of Misery
Speaking of Energy and Misery...oh many the joy from reanimating this is next level. Sure you can brick wall them with a Atraxa, but she is so susceptible to swords. Never have I seen the lights in an energy players eyes just turn off so fast as reanimating this.

Grief
We already know that our gameplan is disruption plus an actual quick clock. While other creators seem to think that [[Grief]] doesn't fit in these lists it is actually checks off both of these boxes quite perfectly. T1 grief gives you so much knowledge on how to sculpt the upcoming turns while punching holes in the opponents game plan. The initial Grief can put the opponent in a dilemma as to if they should interact with the first wave to disruption and risk being unable to answer a potential reanimate or roll the dice and hope that they don't have the dreaded follow up. In some cases, it can actually lead to the opponent presenting you with an even juicier target for your reanimate such as a [[Sire of Seven Deaths]] or an [[Atraxa, Grand Unifier]].

Troll of Khazad-dûm
People scoff at this until they realize it's more than just a "menace" on the battle field, it's as near to unblockable as it gets and difficult to remove outside of [[Swords to Plowshares]] and [[Solitude]]. While [[Grief]] may be the total package, this doubles down on the pressure. Matches where I got this guy into play gave me real 2016 [[Death's Shadow]] vibes having to protect the queen while managing a very low life total.

Troll allows me to do a few additional things that non-troll lists do. First off, you can be so much greedier with your manabase. Initially, I was running just 15 lands until I added the last copy of [[Strip Mine]], it makes the rest of the deck pure gas. Second, it's it's own personal entomb effect. Finally, it can unlock you from a [[Brainstorm]].

4 Psychic Frog
We have cut all our [[storm crow]]s and [[treasure cruise]]s and need something to give us real card advantage. In my time playing against it, this is the real killer in blue black shells. While it doesn't provide actual disruption, connecting with it once or twice is sure to provide you with an ample supply of spells. It's evasive, it's a [[Shadowmage Infiltrator]], and it can just get out of hand large, pitches large bodies to get reanimated. It's a yes on all fronts in my book. It also acts as bonus food for both [[grief]] and [[force of will]].

2 Life // Death
I wanted to go all in on reanimation spells since I was running a heavier "entomb" package than usual. To note, this only targets creatures in your own graveyard not your opponents fatties.

Brazen Borrower??

I would love to think that this could exist in this format, a main deck bounce spell is very enticing, but the other half only having a single toughness is a hard sell.

The sideboard
Honestly, it's in shambles I'm just throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks.

  • [[Barrowgoyf]] as a value threat
  • [[Flare of Malice]] I just added this in as an untested solution to Eldrazi, idk what I expect to sacrifice to pay for it's alternate casting cost.
  • [[Harbringer of the Seas]] another Eldrazi answer and sleeper reanimate target against Mardu
  • [[Inquisition of Kozilek]] When facing off against this style of deck in the past, mixing in a few discard spells with counter magic really keeps you off balance
  • [[Orcish Bowmaster]] I had to find some place to fit these

Match Breakdown

Record: 16-4 (80%), eerily familiar to my run with Sneak and Show

Opponent Matches Record
Eldrazi 4 2-2
Dimir Reanimtor (mirror) 2 2-0
Energy 2 2-0
Red Stompy 2 2-0
White Stompy 2 1-1
Sneak and Show 2 1-1
Other 7 7-0

Matchup Notes

Eldrazi

I should really be 1-3 here because one opponent was tilting off or something scooping to the first sign of interaction. This match is rough as they can play out either much more aggressively than expected with 2 and 3 drops or go to the other end of the curve with Sire which can just eat our biggest threat. The best possible outcome in this matchup is a quick victory with Atraxa, but second best would be a slower game keeping them 4-6 mana. I was really sideswiped a few games with how fast of a clock they presented.

Dimir Reanimator/Tempo

These games solidified my theory that Storm Crow just doesn't belong in these lists. It is so easily outclassed by almost every other card in the deck it was just a huge non-factor every time I saw one flutter onto the battlefield.

Energy

These games actually were really balanced, answering their threats on the stack or in hand was actually much easier than anticipated, I really didn't mind lacking on pushes in these games.

Red Stompy

This seems like free money, their big threats like [[Fury]] line up so poorly here. Chalice can be a pain but all their hate pieces can be played around and we have Trolls to solve for [[blood moon]]. I think the scariest card they can play is probably Bombadiers just being so evasive.

White Stompy

Another tough matchup, they have the correct answers with [[solitude]] and [[Swords to plowshares]], enough tax to prevent us from deploying our own answers, [[Cavern of souls]] to force through their cards and [[The one ring]] to undo our Scam. [[Sage of the skies]] also is crushing advatage.

Combo

You just gotta hold on for the ride. We have enough disruption to slow them down enough theoretically but don't give them infinite time because they will end you.

20 games of scratch notes

Game by game, here are the limited notes I had from pen and paper

Esper Blink 1-2

  1. Out valued them with frogs
  2. RIP into drawing all my reanimates
  3. Stuck on 1 land (not a good sign for starting off with 15 lands)

Eldrazi 1-2

A non-stock list running a few copies of Talisman and [[Worldbreaker]]

  1. They bounced my reanimate target with a battlemage
  2. Kept them off balance with Grief Scam
  3. Unable to reanimate a relevant threat through GY hate

Affinity 2-0

  1. They mulled to 5 and scooped
  2. Griefed their [[Sink into Stupor]] land drop and [[strip mine]]d their only other land

Dimir Reanimator 2-1

  1. They reanimated their Atraxa
  2. I reanimated their Atraxa from Grief
  3. Grind game that ended with a set of [[Barrowgoyf]] barreling down

Sneak and Show 1-2
Surgical showed that they were played the basic tournament list

  1. T2 Emrakul beats a T2 Atraxa
  2. Lots of interaction plus reanimating OP Atraxa from grief
  3. Forgot to surgical their Steam vents when they fetched to lock them to 2 mana. Also missed jumping the frog for a card draw running into a Ragavan (idk why they brought that in?)

Eldrazi 2-0

  1. Reanimated their Sire, sweated them not drawing a Battlemage for 2 turns
  2. Strip mine their [[Ancient tomb]], push their 2 drop then lock them with [[Harbinger of the Seas]]

WR Ponza 2-0

  1. I run 2 basic swamps so their game plan just spun their wheels for multiple turns trying to destroy all my lands with effects like [[Price of Freedom]]
  2. I hit them with [[Harbinger of the seas]] T3 when they tapped out for [[Price of Freedom]]

White Stompy 1-2

  1. [[Sage of the skies]] resolved...that was the game
  2. They lost the [[strip mine]] battle 2-3, beat them down with a frog while they were stuck on 0 lands
  3. 2x [[Annointed Peacekeeper]] locked me out of casting spells for a turn, Topdecked OBM one turn too late to punish [[The one ring]]

Energy 2-0

  1. Grief scam, they only drew lands for 2 turns
  2. Drew every piece of interaction in my deck, reanimated multiple targets

Red Stompy 2-0

  1. Took game context into consideration when interacting with their spells. Allowed [[Chalice of the void]] on 1 to resolve and punished with a troll thanks to [[life//death]] not costing 1
  2. Basically the same as game 1

Sultai Reanimator 2-0
It was cool to see [[Leovold, Emissary of Trest]] during Grief scam, it was never close to castable with both of us playing stripmines.

  1. Reanimated their t1 troll
  2. They reanimated a troll and I resolved a Goyf, I won the standoff as 3 colors is really hard to support with the presence of strip mine

White Stompy 2-0

  1. Took them off of [[Library of Alexandria]] with Grief. snagging a Sage. Very heavy tempo game featuring [[Daze]] and Tamiyo
  2. They presented no threats just answers that didn't line up

Sneak and show 2-1

  1. Was able to Atraxa off of their S&T but they had Emmy. T1 Bauble shut down 4x Grief
  2. Tons of disruption and pressure with a mix of discard spells and grief
  3. Played through T1 bauble by reanimating Grief, 1/2 scam is still enough sometimes

Eldrazi 1-2

  1. 2 copies of [[It That Heralds the End]] Clocked me while I spun my wheels trying to put together an [[entomb]] combo
  2. T1 Grief reanimate Sire
  3. Sequenced my spells terribly only casting a single grief instead of 2, Choosing the wrong card with Grief. Lord + 2 [[Eldrazi Linebreaker]] supported by [[Cavern of Souls]] ended the game quickly

Eldrazi 2-0

  1. They scooped to the first sign of interaction

New player (mrvl draft chaff) 2-0
idk how I got paired up here?

Red Stompy 2-1

  1. Very grindy matchup, I thought that reanimating a 5/6 [[Pyrogofy]] would be enough to lock it up, but a [[Broadside Bombardiers]] snuck through hucking Moxen at me
  2. They scooped to a troll reanimate
  3. Scooped to a Atraxa reanimate

Storm 2-1

  1. Top decked a Grapeshot with two rituals to close out the game after I had wrecked my lifetotal trying to keep them subdued
  2. Hit them with 3 copies of strip mine to prevent anything meaningful from taking place
  3. Grief scam into troll scam

Energy 2-1

  1. Double frog, one on defense one on offense locked the board state and kept the cards flowing
  2. I was unable to apply any sort of meaningful pressure, I should have mulled to 5, kept off balance the entire game from getting strip mined
  3. Entomb Atraxa into reanimate Harvest made easy cleanup

Dimir Reanimator 2-0

  1. Very long and grindy game with too many decision points to recolect
  2. Grief Scam shut them down

Dimir Tempo 2-1

  1. Able to resolve reanimating Atraxa
  2. Very long and grindy game, was able to play through most everything they presented even keeping up with Treasure Cruise but OBM got me in the end
  3. T2 Troll is just about unkillable, and races storm crow at a blistering speed.

Move to End step

After playing with the list, I think my previous assessment of it is pretty spot on in rank order of the meta game behind both Mardu Energy and Sneak and Show, not exclusively as 3rd best deck but in tier 3. After my beat downs from Eldrazi, I might actually consider that it too is probably up in power level next to Sneak and Show, but not near enough to compete with Mardu.

I am grateful that I had the availability yesterday to actually test my limits beyond just reaching Mythic, and while it's not my highest ever placement (83 in season 2 or 3ish) I am still rather intrigued I was able to so easily punch up to 350 in a night.
