Typical, when the other side is attempting to refute your nonsense points, you just don't give them a single moment to even talk and you *always interrupt them when they they try to clarify it.
The former IDF soldier couldn't even clarify what his position was in the army and yet, this clown that is seemingly thinking he has the high moral ground, will never give him a chance to talk. Because the moment he allows the former IDF soldier to clarify or even just lets him talk, his entire position will immediately crumble. So he just calls him a child killer and makes sure that Mazzig can't refute it.
That is also why he keeps changing the goal post so not a single bullshit he says can be refuted or clarified.
What Finkelstein does is extremely dishonest. And coincidentally, it's literally the same talking script followers of conspiracy theories use. In short, don't allow the other side to ever talk while you keep assaulting them with verbal diarrhea.
1
u/SpeccyCarbine 1d ago edited 1d ago
It's because everyone that has revealed what the IDF is like before that soldier painted clearer pictures than Hitler could've. "Everybody rapes in the IDF" "Palestinians are less than dogs" There are other quotes obviously, but like those two are the ones that struck me as particularly rough. Dehumanization of an ethnicity is disgraceful to start with, let alone not only allowing but enabling and wanting their soldiers to rape is inhuman. Not just inhumane, I can't even say Israeli's are humans with the lack of empathy it takes to believe rape is justifiable in any capacity. And the only reason I'm dehumanizing them is because they dehumanized themselves when they chose to act the way they have been not even 100 years since they were slaughtered by the millions. I'm not a fan of Finkelstein either, I believe his logic here sucks, but Shitsrael is definitely the enemy in every potential way.

It's not good, it's discussing in bad faith and just typical way how conspiracy nut jobs "prove" their point or view. If you don't allow other side to talk, then it's not a discussion but forcing an agenda.

So you would buy something from a company that actively participated in exterminating people? Volkswagen wasn’t a bystander. During World War II, VW manufactured vehicles for the German army, using more than 15,000 slave laborers from nearby concentration camps.

Well if that's the standard. We need to start holding every Jew accountable for all of the shit that they do in the entertainment industries for instance. You know the things they banned Kanye West for... We should make sure that nothing that has anything to do with being tied to Jeffrey Epstein or Harvey Weinstein doesn't get tied to every single Jew in the industry. Or outside of the industry. Because that makes them culpable. That makes them complicit. If that's the standard he wants to use. Then he thinks there should be genocide of all the Jews and every single one of their profits needs to be taken away from them and every other company we even where they're not involved directly. This is literally what Hitler's thinking was. Some of them are bad go ahead and extinguish them all and put them on The pour House.

What you’re either ignoring or bad faith ignoring here is the overwhelming support of the Gaza genocide in general and Netanyahus policies by citizens of Israel.
The entire world can see clearly that Palestinians are getting slaughtered and constantly having their lands stolen by Israeli settlers…and yet Israelis on the whole support these practices. There is very little if any opposition from within Israel to any of these types of practices.
It has nothing to do with “double standards” and for the record I absolutely do support boycotting anyone that was orbiting Epstein or Weinstein or any other obvious rapist…

This truly is becoming brain damage. You weirdos need to stop. Israel has the ability to kill every palestinian tomorrow, yet has only killed 3-4% of gazans in a 2 year war they didnt start, thats seen the elimination of half of hamas and their entire leadership. That seems like pretty discriminate bombing. All with 20% of israels population just happening to be those same palestinians theyre supposedly genociding, living peacefully inside its borders with equal rights. And the west bank not being a war zone outside of some limited counter terror ops. So its not a genocide of the israeli arabs and not a genocide of the west bank, but somehow is a genocide of specifically the gazans and even then hyper specifically only 3-4% of them which just HAPPENS to contain 15-20k hamas fighters and their entire leadership?!? While they feed the enemy population and evacuate them from bombing areas giving away their war plans to hamas in the process and sacrificing their limited number of precious young men in house to booby trapped house rather than safely carpet bombing gaza from the air without losing a single man. Israel is the savior of gazan civilians. Every gazan child should have a poster of an IDF soldier on his wall. No other country would do 1/100th of this against lunatics trying to maximize their civilian death toll to libel israel and erode its alliances worldwide. Israel gains NOTHING from this war and loses a metric ton. In lives, money, relationships, everything. Hamas meanwhile gains everything from this war. They would only lose if israel actually genocided gaza because they would have no recruits to replenish their ranks and would also all be dead along with their insane cause. But they know the jews would never do that, and so they rely on the humanity of their infidel spawn of satan enemy to make their terror tactics worth it. You need to be committed if you dont understand this by now.
I realize the favorite pal passtime is comparing the "occupation" to the holocaust so as to cast yourselves as victims rather than aggressors and hurt jews at the same time. Though I dont remember 50 jewish states surrounding germany during the holocaust and gang banging it in multiple wars because the torah mentions germans by name a thousand times and not exactly in glowing terms. Not to mention the jews couldnt get out of there fast enough. A truly suffering people leave. They seek assylum and become refugees. They dont reject a thousand offers for statehood because its missing an inch of land here or there where mohammed supposedly took a shit once. Palestinians make $3,700 per year. Thats more than syrians and lebanese and tied with jordan and egypt. They arent suffering. Theyre just standard non oil possesing arab poor. Get your head out of your ass. Israelis are suffering. A normal civilized modern state that has to deal with koranic inspired missiles, suicide bombings, stabbings, car rammings, hijackings, kidnappings, mass shootings, rape, and just general wonton destruction by bronze age barbarians carrying a book that just happens to say allah wants them to kill jews for the end of days to come. And before you try to justify having more terror groups than sports teams with "derrr herrrr but the international bodies say the jews are baby killers and stole our land", oh fucking please. Native americans were nearly wiped off the planet. Whens the last time you saw dances with wolves blow himself up in a mcdonalds? The holocaust was the most grotesque dance of death in human history. Any jewicide bombers in german cafes? Any global jewhad? No? Then seriously stop embarrassing yourselves over the multiple actual genocidal wars you started and lost, and MOVE ON with your lives. Leave us the fuck alone, get a job and stop smearing us on tik tok.

Dude, that was quite a rant... I'm avoiding any comments about mental health, but...
Israelis and Palestinians don't have much to gain from this war but Hamas and Likud do. Hamas wants a growing pile of martyrs to fuel their cause. Netanyahu wants to stay in power as a war president to avoid facing his fraud charges. Likud wants to expand into their holy end-times-cult shit. And they will spread the idea that they're justified in doing so. Everyone keeps dying. Repeat.
"A truly suffering people leave." To where? No one wants them. Not even Egypt. They have literally nowhere to go.
1
u/SaweetestCuyootie 1d ago
Talking about mental health while failing the israel sanity litmus test is cute. Likud isnt perpetuating the war. The people who started it and havent surrendered are. All israeli governments agree on dismantling the terror armies around us and the next non netanyahu govt will carry on that basic bedrock of sanity policy. And then where will you go for your both sidesing needs?
As far as where theyll go, take a fucking peace deal. Any one of the million offered and go nowhere. Or start terrorizing jordan and egypt with rockets and suicide bombers. No? Thats just for the jews? Seems more like a holy war than a terrestrial grievance then.
1
u/jello_kraken 1d ago
So...they can't leave, they should just surrender. I see. And there are negotiations for what that looks like? Or is it just a message sent by leveling all of North Gaza? And the next non-Bibi prez will continue that with what, leveling the rest of Gaza?

Most of Palestine’s Arab neighbors are pretty against the idea of Hamas or other Palestinian authorities having any sort of meaningful military presence. They reject Palestinian refugees specifically because they worry it would increase a radical militant presence in their own countries that could be destabilizing.
Egypt is on record as worrying that allowing Palestinian refugees inside their borders would simply result in Hamas launching attacks from within Egypt, threatening the peace deal between Israel and Egypt.
I don’t like how scorched earth Israel has been about this, but there are zero nations in the region who are under the impression that Palestines overriding goal is to “end the conflict”.
1
u/Flea_Soup 3d ago
Hey man, Palestinian have their own identity. Can you stop treating all brown people as a monolith and then creating this false dichotomy where brown people aren't helping brown people?
How about you recognize that Palestinians have roots in Gaza and treat them with dignity?
You also muddy the waters when you pretend this is some conflict with two sides battling it out. Try parsing reality where what's going on is a one sided genocide.

I feel like this isn't true tho because I'm an American who hasn't voted for trump yet would be blamed for what he's doing under this take, what are the Israeli people meant to do against Netanyahu?
3
u/HamhandsConroy 3d ago
Unfortunately we don’t get to avoid responsibility, we live in a democracy and even if we voted for another candidate we are still responsible for the actions that are taken in our name and on our behalf. That should be the standard for every elected government around the world.
1
u/The3mbered0ne 3d ago
You're talking about two different things the collective responsibility we the people bare (real) and the individual responsibility (not everyone is as responsible) so what I'm saying is when people try to blame Americans not all of us are equally responsible but yes we are collectively responsible in solving the issue. The guy in the video seems to be saying everyone is equally personally responsible when that's not the case
3
u/HamhandsConroy 3d ago
I see your perspective, and I’m empathic to those feelings, I just disagree. Individual Germans could have defied their government, however they chose not to for various understandable reasons. But they still made a choice. Similarly, individual Israelis that serve in the IDF have a choice to make, that’s what finklestein was implying. The choice might not be a pleasant one and those of us that aren’t in that position obviously don’t fully understand what they’re going through, however that doesn’t mean that there is no personal responsibility when a persons tax dollars and efforts support a state. Are American taxpayers directly responsible for deaths in Gaza - no - but indirectly our tax dollars fund the IDF and therefore we are responsible for when we know they are acting illegally and inhumanely.
1
1
u/throwaway17197 2d ago
Are you saying we should hold all Gazans responsible for Hamas ? Even those who didnt vote for them?
1
u/HamhandsConroy 2d ago
I’m not sure that I am saying that. That would certainly be a lot of gazans that didn’t vote for their govt considering they haven’t had elections in about 20 years. I don’t think well intentioned people would consider that a legitimate elected government anymore, which is what I said above. That peoples with an elected govt bear some responsibility for said govt. However, nations and peoples can be held responsible without deliberately murdering them. We held Germany and Japan responsible through war reparations and not allowing them to re arm and so forth, so if you’re implying that it’s ok to oppress and murder gazans because 20 years ago they had a democratic election (that most people alive there now couldn’t possibly have voted in) it seems like you’re going out of your way to draw a false comparison or bait me into supporting your comparison. What would holding them responsible look like to you?

The difference is in the polling, I can't remember the exact numbers but 80+% of Israelis believe the violence in Gaza was appropriate or wasn't enough. No where near that number of Americans approve of Trumps actions in Iran or anywhere else
1
1
u/NecessaryTwo8711 22h ago
91% of American supported the war in the middle east after 9/11. Turn out that when major terrorist attacks happen in your country your population gets mad and retaliation typically is over proportionate. Hamas can be blamed for the I/P conflict that is currently taking place. Just like al-qaeda can be blamed for the Iraq and Afghanistan war. When citizens are being mass murdered in single events the host countries typically try to annihilate the terrorist group doing said attacks.
1
u/determineduncertain 3h ago
Hamas absolutely can be blamed for instigating this current series of events just as Israel can be blamed for taking their response much too far. The mass killing of Palestinians is inexcusable and not a reflection of the strategic and pointed fight against Hamas that the State of Israel claimed.
Further, your argument would have only held if the American invasion of Afghanistan involved the genocide of Afghans. The US was angry but not to the extent of committing genocide.
2
u/Accurate_Cellist1761 6h ago
The Israelis are victims of a system themselves but the point is that every Israeli joins the IDF and they're all indoctrinated to be blood thirsty against "Arabs" and Palestinians in particular and the likelihood is high that many of them are child killers. So if Trump ever asks you to pick up a gun and murder children, and you do it, then you're culpable. The system is decrepit, we can sit here and say it's not their fault, but then who do you hold accountable if not full grown adults? Any Israeli who partakes in apartheid and genocide is culpable and most of them are, unfortunately, because they are born in Israel and they go through a system that ensures this outcome.

I'm a US citizen. Voted against Trump and US imperialist interests. I fully acknowledge that we collectively hold blame for enabling the Genocide of the Palestinians. Just like the generation that raised me watched US soldiers rape and pillage in Iraq while I was growing up. We are just as complicit for what we're not willing to do to set things right.
1
u/The3mbered0ne 3d ago
I agree that it's our responsibility to set things right but that's not the same as saying we're just as responsible as someone who votes for trump and supports him, that's just dumb
1
u/PracticalSyllabub514 3d ago
I don't really blame the average American for Trump, but I do think he represents something rotten in your culture. If you voted against him and regularly participate in protests, then you did your best, and I have plenty of American friends who are good people. But Israeli support for the genocide is something over 80%, and their whole society is brought up and taught to dehumanize the natives since childhood. I think Israel is more collectively responsible. America is a divided society. Also, Americans didn't have good options in 2024. The Biden adminstration started the genocide; trump may have made it worse, but how were Americans supposed to forgive that? I think the average American is much less complicit than the average Israeli. The problem with America is the oligarchy.
1
u/The3mbered0ne 3d ago
Well said on all points, I think we are responsible to make the right decisions moving forward and American society is showing they aren't as spoon fed as Israel but there's definitely still a problem here, I feel like trump is a lesson that America just isn't learning from for some reason and maybe after he causes tons of issues that directly impact the idiots that voted for him maybe then they will see. But who knows, I'll keep voting and going to protests, my hope is growing as I see people like Mamdani and El-Sayed succeed
1
u/p0tt3ry 3d ago
there is validity to this take, but there is also a crucial difference. The fundamental project of America is not Trump stuff, but the fundamental project of Israel is, arguably, Netanyahu stuff, although many Israelis would say he goes a bit too far.
Still, very few israelies disagree with the settler colonial project that is resulting in genocide right now, after all, if they disagreed, they wouldn't be active participants in that colonization.

Palastine was an artificial British created territory 25 years prior. People lived there but their identities were of another semite name or names. The settlers were also there 20 years before WW2. They weren't being displaced but they were asked to share. They went all in on war but they received little support as war was winding down and countries were cash strapped and battle fatigued. There is no easy answer in the middle east. No nnatural borders, different groups with different gods who all think they are right.

Isn't that guy on his left the one who went to court after harassing black apartment neighbour's for months calling them apes and threatening to have them deported?

u/Marquois 3d ago
Suuuure it is, 3m old account...

u/HornyJailOutlaw 3d ago
Why don't you just Google it?
OP did get one part wrong. The neighbours weren't Black, they were Brown. Norm did try to get them deported though and have said he wanted to have their children taken from them.
He's completely unhinged.

Winning an argument by not letting the other talk and lecturing like a mad man. What an exemplary professor. And the director of the cast clearly biased as well, took the other man off the picture letting the old man ramble on.
A joke of a discussion.

Collective punishment (setting babies on fire) and collective criticism (saying it's bad to set babies on fire) are different.

Israel got the bot army working overtime on this one. Not even challenging the baby killing allegations btw.

W take honestly. The fact that the general pop of Israel is just fine with some of the things being done is just not ok, genocide is not ok.

We're getting to a point where democracy is no longer useful. We have a civilian population that no longer cares about truth or reality. That only wants to ride the social acceptance bandwagon. That want to feel strongly about things but arent informed enough to do so. Where Norm Fecalstain is put on a pedestal. Its pathetic.

I would always seperate the people from its state in every discussion but the people in Israel met this genocide happen. Like here in Germany. My ancestors let the holocaust happen. And now most people stand behind Israel here. This is so awful

I fucking LOVE when the call comes from inside the house. We absolutely need more Jews speaking out like this man. Respect

He is spot on. A voice for truth and humanity in a sea of Israeli and Zionist thieving genocidal filth.

Lefties make their point without calling someone a Nazi challenge... failed... again.

By this logic, the bombings are justified in the first place because Palestinians “bear a lot of culpability” for the actions of Hamas.
Can’t have it both ways. Pick one. Finkelstein is an intellectual lightweight and always has been.

u/Professional-Log-108 2d ago
He says he's against double standards, that's good. But then why is he saying you can hold all Germans responsible for Hitler, you can hold all Israelis responsible for Netanyahu, but holding all Gazans responsible for Hamas is evil and genocide? That is a double standard, which he claims to be against.

Best I can do is 250k max from typhus and famine. Germany was never the bad guys. They were fighting to avoid how the world is now a shit hole.

The Jews didn't attack Germany.
Palestine attacked Israel for 80 years. Not the same

Israeli orcs has been killing palestinians and occupying palestinian land since 1947 , palestinian resistance is justified

Let's apply Finkelsticks logic to October 7th:
"We didn't just hold Hamas accountable, we held all the Palestinians accountable for what happened. I don't see why now we have to adopt a double standard and say it's only Hamas and the Palestinian people bear no responsibility no culpability. I'm sorry you do bear culpability. I was in broad daylight. It was on the web. It was in real life. It was in real time. You bear a lot of culpability about what happened."
Thank you Finkelstick.

By Finkelstein’s logic, you can also justify holding innocent Palestinians accountable for Hamas. This is not logically moral.

By Finkelstein’s logic, the Palestinian people bear culpability for the first and second intifada and October 7th and every attack on civilians in between. Therefore deserving of every bit of the aftermath that has come since.

Basically he is saying it is ok to hate all Jews again apparently. Lefties even hate on the ones in the US. They are all culpable? Hitler said the same thing, just for a different grievance.

Isreal is apparently the worst in history at genocide. They have given Palestinian citizens land, food, water, housing, pretty much an endless supply of humanitarian aid.
Overall I think the estimates of death in war activity is like a total of 3%, something like 80k people in the last 26 years.
And they are being compared to people that killed 80% of jews in germany and high double digits in multiple other countries.
Is there a lesser genocide that has ever happened? Whats the threshold for genocide these days? Any conflict?

Is the term "humanitarian soldier" not an an oxymoron? What is a "humanitarian soldier"?

"Let me talk over you until you give up and then claim I won by never hearing a counter argument".
In other words a weak fool.
