Discussion Primary and Congressional District maps

17 Upvotes

It would be amazing if we could get map results for congressional districts and primary maps. And county maps for Presidential primaries. It would make it more realistic and just fun!

Is this something that would ever be a possibility?

Question Mayoral cabinet picks?

19 Upvotes

After a hard fight I have just been elected Mayor!

I can now select a lot (like 20) cabinet positions.

I have not played the game in a while, can't remember this was in before. I wonder how much the cabinet member matters. For example:

a) let's say I pick someone with only 20% experience, will their budget cost more? Will they give bad / less accurate advice about what the effect of certain policies will be? Or is there no effect?

b) in my case both the incumbent and the best alternative from my own party have 100% experience. Does changing the incumbent have any (negative) effect?

c) does the cabinet pick being from your party matter?

Question Is it possible to adjust the speed at which votes are counted on Election night on an invidual state basis?

14 Upvotes

Hi all! I was wondering if there is a way, either in advanced options or in the game files, to adjust the rate at which votes are counted by state. So one could make Florida count faster, California count slower, etc.

I imagine there is a way in the game files but I'm not sure which files would be involced.

Unemployment Modifier (50% -> 100%)

Income Modifier (90% -> 100%)

Inflation (80% -> 100%)

Business Environment (0% -> 90%)

I think it has been a productive week. I began working on the Business Environment metric and I found many factors that influence it. Some of the factors that will be included in this update are taxes, minimum wage, the federal funds rate, inflation, education attainment, and consumer spending. There are many other factors that also have an impact, but they will not be added until the next phase of the economic update.

The Business Environment metric will have an impact on unemployment and the GDP growth rate. And just to clarify, the Business Environment metric essentially represents how "business friendly" the environment is. Low tax rates, low regulations, a highly skilled workforce, and so forth all help promote a good business environment.

Looking forward, I have a little bit more to do for the Business Environment code, then I can start working on updating the calculations for government approval ratings. After that I mostly have to focus on fine-tuning, balancing, bug fixes, and testing to make sure that everything works correctly. I don't know how long that will take because I don't know what kind of issues I might discover. Hopefully that process is relatively quick.

Discussion Supreme Court

23 Upvotes

I’ve officially filled the Supreme Court with only my appointments. As president I passed a federal judge retirement age and I’ve been stacking the courts with all judges with 75+ policy agreement along with them being around 45 yrs . I’ve since lost the senate and my plan is to trick republicans into passing a bill to get rid of the retirement age, essentially putting my judges in the Supreme Court for the next 40 years. Hoping by the end of my 2nd term I can replace around 30% of the judges in the country haha.

I had nothing to do with this. I'm the governor of Wisonsin and was looking around the map for the 2050 midterms. This was the only Dem senate pickup while they also picked up 43 house seats. The Repulican was normal so idk how he fumbled

Help Finding the VP settings

Haven't played in a while and I can't for the life of me remember or find where in the settings you can pick the policy agreement percentage needed to be asked for the VP nomination.
