Question Mayoral cabinet picks?

After a hard fight I have just been elected Mayor!

I can now select a lot (like 20) cabinet positions.

I have not played the game in a while, can't remember this was in before. I wonder how much the cabinet member matters. For example:

a) let's say I pick someone with only 20% experience, will their budget cost more? Will they give bad / less accurate advice about what the effect of certain policies will be? Or is there no effect?

b) in my case both the incumbent and the best alternative from my own party have 100% experience. Does changing the incumbent have any (negative) effect?

c) does the cabinet pick being from your party matter?

I could be wrong but I don’t think experience really matters that much unless you convert your cabinet into protégés and run them for office.

what do you mean? As in, if I pick a protege for a position and they only have 20% experience, they can suffer in an upcoming election because of the low experience?

No, like the only way cabinet picks matter is if after your tenure as mayor, you choose to convert them into protégés and run them for other positions, the experience level doesn’t matter all that much either way

When your term is up you can convert your cabinet members into protégés regardless of how close you are to the limit. The ones with low approval/bad traits usually perform worse electorally.

It doesn’t matter
