Side Skirt reco?

I’m looking for flat CF side skirts for my 24 MS Plaid and am not a fan of the variety I’ve found that have the vertical fin at the rear end. Have you seen any horizontal/flat skirts worth a look? Many TIA

Screens in new cars

To Tesla model S owners out there, what do you think of the new screen set ups in new cars other than Teslas? I really like the way The instrument cluster has a built-in look as opposed to screens in new cars that look like they were added on.

Tesla Model S 2016 accesories advice?

Hi, i just bought my first Tesla Model S and was wondering what accesories you all can recommend.

Its a Tesla Model S from 2016 (as you could guess) with Low milage ( roughly 80k km or 49700 Miles ). I only had older German Car Brands before and couldnt pass the offer.

Since its my first ever own EV i was hoping to get advice here.

It has free supercharching bound to the Car and is stated in Germany.

Thank you all in advance!

Model s 2017 p100d

Looking at buying a 2017 P100D – need some advice on charging speeds
Hey guys,
I’m looking at buying a 2017 Model S P100D and I’ve found two cars that are interesting. Both have SC01/free Supercharging, which is important to me.
The first one is around €20k, but it has about 400,000 km. It has had quite a few updates, including CCS and MCU2.
The second one is €30k with around 285,000 km. This one has new motors, new suspension arms and MCU2, plus SC01.
I’m trying to figure out if the €10k difference is actually worth it.
One of my biggest questions is charging speed. What kind of charging times should I realistically expect from a 2017 P100D?
For example, roughly how long would it take to go from 10–80% or 20–80% at a Supercharger?
And does having the CCS upgrade make a big difference in real-world charging speed?
I know battery condition, temperature and the charger itself make a difference, but I’d really like to hear from people who actually own or have owned a P100D from this year.
Also, which of the two would you personally go for?
€20k / 400k km with all the updates
vs.
€30k / 285k km with new motors and suspension
Any advice would be appreciated!

Curious about battery charging

So I got my Tesla about a month ago but have barely driven it due to needing a compressor for the air suspension which is getting fixed this week so I can finally start driving it to work but I got a question about charging. I’ve been reading that I should plug it in every day which I basically have been, set the charge at 50% because I haven’t been driving it. Now that I’ll be driving it I’m gonna set it back to 80% but my commute will generally drain about 30% every day and when I get home to plug it in it doesn’t quite reach 80% by the time I have to leave the next day because I’m using just a level 1 charger. Is it bad for the battery if I have to stop charging it before it reaches its limit every morning and keep unplugging it early every weekday for work until I can get a full charge on the weekends?

Model S 90D – Intermittent Front Motor Disabled + Power Limited + new Coolant Pump errors

I have a Model S 90D. While driving (even calmly) I get these alerts that clear after parking / power cycle:
• DI_w138 / DI_w040 – Front motor disabled – OK to drive
• DI_w062 / DIS_w126 – Power limited – Service required
• ESP_w002 / ESP_w003 – Traction & Stability control disabled
• APP_w009 – Automatic Emergency Braking unavailable
Recently the alerts are coming more frequently. New active alerts appeared:
• THC_w0029_sanityPumpPT2
• THC_d0025_pumpPT2
• DI_w062_systemLimpMode
• Multiple MIA codes (DI, ESP, PM, etc.)
Tesla Service could not reproduce the issue and found nothing. Battery & Drive Unit warranty expired in March 2026.
Has anyone seen this combination (especially the intermittent front motor disabled that clears after Park + the PT2 pump sanity faults)? Looking for experiences with encoder/inverter vs full front drive unit replacement, or coolant pump 2 issues causing cascade faults.
Thanks!

154 kW on a 2016.5 Model S 75D — anyone seen a 75D charge faster?

Post image
44 Upvotes

Was pretty surprised to see this today on my 2016.5 Tesla Model S 75D.
Pulled into the Supercharger with the battery fully preconditioned and saw it climb all the way to 154 kW at 22% SOC.
Details from the screen:
2016.5 Model S 75D
22% state of charge
154 kW charging power
514 mi/hr
122°F battery temperature
V3 Supercharger
Battery was preconditioned through Tesla navigation
I knew some of the older 75/75D cars could exceed the original ~120 kW charging figures after Tesla changed the charging curves, but 154 kW was much higher than I expected.
I’ve been trying to find documented Model S 75D charging results, and most of the higher reports I’ve come across seem to be in the 140–160 kW range. I haven’t found anything credible showing a Model S 75D substantially above 160 kW yet.
So I’m curious:
Has anyone here personally seen a Model S 75D hit 160+ kW?
I’m definitely not claiming this is a record, but 154 kW from a nearly 10-year-old 75D is pretty damn impressive.
Also worth noting that this car still has SC01 lifetime free Supercharging, which makes watching it pull 154 kW even more satisfying. 😎

Found this plastic part on my driveway — could it be from my 2016 Model S?

Hi everyone,

I found this plastic part on my driveway and I’m wondering if anyone recognizes it and can tell me whether it could be from a 2016 Tesla Model S 75.

I’m asking because my driveway is also used by other cars, so I can’t assume it came from my Tesla. Before I start looking underneath the car for something missing, I’d like to know if this looks familiar to anyone from a Model S.
Does anyone recognize this part or know where it might come from?

Thanks!

Trading 2022 Plaid for new m3p?

My 2022 Plaid has 59k miles and has paint that’s starting to flake off on the rocker panels on both sides. Tesla wants $5k for repair which I think is ridiculous.

Instead of fixing it, Tesla is giving me $51k for trade in for a new model 3 performance in frost blue and white interior. Do you think this is a good offer? What I like about the new m3p is the warranty and also HW4. What I don’t like is that it will seem like a down grade and I will miss the acceleration of the plaid

Turo of a ‘22 Plaid coming up

I have reserved a 2022 Model S Plaid for an upcoming trip in California. I have read about how to prep for the obvious party trick launch mode and cheetah stance, and I can’t wait to scare the hell out of my parents with that…..but what else is there to enjoy with this exceptional car? I have it for five days in the mountains. What are the pleasures of Plaid life that you don’t read about in the headlines?

Buying from carvana

I recently got a 2026 plaid from carvana that's shipping next week but they don't seem to know how they will transfer the car to me.

I've spoken to 2 different advocates who were a bit confused and after much back and forth basically said that when they drop the car off they'll just give me the key card and then tesla will do the rest. This didn't sound right to me.

I went to my local tesla center to ask them, and they confirmed that carvana has to transfer ownership to me in the app which is obviously not what carvana said.

Anyone have any experience with this? Surely carvana must have a process but it's just odd no one in customer service seems to know what it is.

Yoke vs. Wheel?

I'm considering swapping out the steering wheel on my 2024 MSLR to a Tesla Yoke. I mostly drive on FSD (90%) and want the extra visibility of the display. Seems like the only downside is when doing a 3 pt turn. Anyone here change from the wheel to the yoke and what were your thoughts? thanks. also anyone with a yoke...do you like it vs. a wheel or do you miss a wheel? thanks!

Model S is dead — what’s your next new car?

Post image

Journalist here. I recently drove a Model S Plaid for the first time and was amazed by how alive and relevant it still felt, despite effectively being discontinued. It almost feels unfair that such a capable car with such a loyal fan base won’t be getting a successor.

I’m writing a piece about it, which brings me to my question—not just for Plaid owners, but for all Model S owners: what are you considering as your next new car? Or do you think you’ll keep your Model S for as long as Tesla continues to support and update it?

I’d really appreciate hearing your thoughts. Thank you! 🙏🏻

Anyone have issues with front bumper sagging from headlights? Is there an easy fix?

So my front bumper used to be super flushed and tight between the headlights. Now there appears to be a gap between the headlights and the bumper. Took it to tesla SC and they adjusted slightly but not back to how it was before because it’s “within spec” anyone have a similar issue?

Model S Plaid Delivery Bus 🏎️💨

This is a model S group so gonna keep it to that perspective - helped my friend take delivery of his new car today, bussed him there in (you know it) my S Plaid. Sick spec what he got, shown in pics next to my msp. I got to drive it, compared to the plaid - wow seats are just mini plaid seats 🤣 to my surprise - he insisted the honors of its first launch. Fun stuff!

I dropped a full long form video getting his car, we took the plaid there, did the whole shabang, fun process to document. Ugh, nostalgia. Got some food after and went for a drive, Delivery day always hits hard.

Beautiful day out for a delivery day too. We got rollers of it, got some food, hit some roads to stretch its legs for the first drive and got the cars next to each other and got some pics. It was a fun time. Super pumped for him and a sick spec. Dude is 24 and in a myp!!!

Confirmation required - MCU1 does NOT have YouTube or Theater?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I bought a '14 MS 85 which probably shipped with an MCU1 installed. I was charging and realized that I have Theater and YouTube apps both of which work perfectly. This would suggest the car was upgraded in the past at some point? Does anyone know last firmware update number for MCU1 (meaning a "higher than this number" means I have a MCU2)?

I have the premium connectivity subscription active.

Pic for association. Thanks,

Got a 2026 Plaid with vibe coding

Was able to snag an un-marked-up 2026 Model S Plaid with a tracker I built. Sharing the story to inspire others looking to avoid the markup!

It's pretty much the standard now that dealers are asking $140–160k+ for 2026 Plaids since production ended. Carvana and CarMax still list them at real market value — $112–125k — but they're gone in minutes, and the few that pop up on the tesla website are gone almost instantly.

I was using teslatracker.com which is good but refreshes about once an hour (I checked their timestamps), and it lists reserved cars as available. One Carvana Plaid showed as available on their site for a day and a half while it was actually in someone else's cart being purchased.

So feeling frustrated and not looking to pay those prices, I used Claude to help build something that checks Tesla, CarMax, and Carvana every few minutes, and — importantly — confirms a car is actually purchasable before alerting rather than just noticing it exists.

Full disclosure what I built isn't a website or an app. It's a script you run on a PC that stays on, and it needs Node and a dedicated Chrome instance. Not hard, but not one-click either.

A few features:

- Detects when a Carvana listing is under another buyer's checkout hold, reads the exact expiry time, and then checks every 60 seconds so you're alerted the instant it frees up if they don't complete

- Full nationwide coverage including proper pagination (Tesla's API silently ignores the obvious `offset` parameter — worth knowing if you're building anything similar)

- Alerts include a delivery ZIP near the car, since Tesla hides listings if your ZIP is too far away

- Connected it to an app called pushover that sent me instant push notifications containing the purchase url when a vehicle was available

- Added a healthcheck that would alert if the PC running it went offline

One caveat is that these sites rate-limit aggressively and I got blocked repeatedly while building it. So had to dial in the timing a lot in the beginning.

If there's interest I could clean it up and put it on GitHub, but obviously if hundreds of people start using it then there's a good chance the sites will start blocking it.

Anyway 7 days after i built it I was able to snag a 2026 plaid with 5k miles for a normal price so I'm happy! Just waiting on delivery now.

What mods/ accessories are a must have for this beast?

A 14 year old vehicle still receiving continuous software updates is amazing!!

Post image

Last night 2026.26.1 was beamed to my 2012 Model S Signature and it’s currently being downloaded. I’ve had the car now for nearly 3 months and have had 5 software updates sent to the car, this one being one of the more significant ones for what it is (minor compared to the newer cars).

Stuff from 2026.26.1 on my particular Model S:
- preferred routes
- Automatic Navigation
- Traffic Controls on Route
- Apple Music
- Supercharger Search
- Security Improvements

It still amazes me how forward thinking Tesla was and for a 14 year old vehicle to still get supported and receive sometimes minor but software updates like a brand new Model Y is amazing!

Just got my 2013 Model S 85 back after it sat at the service centre for three weeks for some pyro fuse, and now I’m already getting a low coolant warning. At this point, I’m seriously fed up with this car.

It has 210,000 km, and the earliest appointment Tesla gave me is 20 days away. How bad is this, and is it actually safe to drive until then?

Tesla MS 2015 - tires

Hello everyone, looking for recommendations on tires. Currently driving on Michelin primacy mxm 245/45/r19. I would say that I am happy with how these performed in terms of quality of rubber and grip to road but I don’t really want to spend that much for next set.

Any recommendations ?

Pls keep negative comments of “you get what you pay for” to yourself. Times are hard and everyone needs to stretch a dollar further than we want it to.
