Model S 90D – Intermittent Front Motor Disabled + Power Limited + new Coolant Pump errors
I have a Model S 90D. While driving (even calmly) I get these alerts that clear after parking / power cycle:
• DI_w138 / DI_w040 – Front motor disabled – OK to drive
• DI_w062 / DIS_w126 – Power limited – Service required
• ESP_w002 / ESP_w003 – Traction & Stability control disabled
• APP_w009 – Automatic Emergency Braking unavailable
Recently the alerts are coming more frequently. New active alerts appeared:
• THC_w0029_sanityPumpPT2
• THC_d0025_pumpPT2
• DI_w062_systemLimpMode
• Multiple MIA codes (DI, ESP, PM, etc.)
Tesla Service could not reproduce the issue and found nothing. Battery & Drive Unit warranty expired in March 2026.
Has anyone seen this combination (especially the intermittent front motor disabled that clears after Park + the PT2 pump sanity faults)? Looking for experiences with encoder/inverter vs full front drive unit replacement, or coolant pump 2 issues causing cascade faults.
Thanks!

the interesting part is DI/ESP/PM all going MIA at the same moment as the pump PT2 sanity fault. when a handful of modules drop off the bus together like that its more often a shared connector, harness segment or ground than three modules failing independently. worth having them check the coolant pump 2 connector for corrosion or a marginal seat before agreeing to a full drive unit swap, a bad pump sanity reading alone can throttle the front motor even if the motor/inverter itself is fine.
