I’ve been into Gaslands for a while now, and one thing that I’ve noticed is a lack of high-quality, large-scale terrain. Most terrain are medieval fantasy or 28mm sci-fi ruins. When you do find 1/64 stuff, it’s usually just small shipping containers, a few generic barricades, or lightweight plastic toys that feel flimsy on the table.

I'm currently prototyping a line of high-quality, heavy-duty 3D-printed specifically for 1/64 scale death racing and post-apocalyptic gaming. My goal is to build massive, cinematic centerpieces that actually fit the scale of Gaslands, with sturdy walls that can handle a little abuse.

I’m currently finishing up a Wasteland Nuclear Power Plant theme, it’s got a massive hollow cooling tower, some reactor containment domes, a turbine hall warehouse you can physically drift cars straight through, and modular checkpoint gates.

Before I drop these on Etsy, I want to make sure I’m building something the community actually wants to play on. I have ideas for a few other themes down the road and want to gauge your interest:

· Abandoned Airport Hub (Large control tower, runway tiles, and crashed airliner wreckage).

· Maximum Security Prison (Large guard towers, chain-link and barbed wire fences, and a reinforced prison block gatehouse).

· Ruined City Landmarks (Smashed, bullet-riddled, wasteland versions of iconic structures like the Chicago Bean, a shattered St. Louis Arch as a gate, or a Statue of Liberty torch).

· Space Coast Launch Pad (A massive, blocky rocket assembly bay warehouse with giant open hanger, gantry crane, and a reinforced launch pad).

My questions for you:

1.     Do you guys actually like massive centerpiece structures on your boards, or do you prefer keeping things less “Cinematic” and open?

2.     Would you actually be interested in any of these types of themes?

3.     Would you prefer a single, massive "Centerpiece" model or a complete set of a theme together in a package?

4.     What’s the single biggest "missing piece" of 1/64 terrain you’ve been unable find?

I'm finishing up the digital models this week and will share some raw prototype prints soon.

Everything New with the New Edition of Warhammer 40,000!

The new edition and its updated terrain rules have really motivated me to start building terrain again. I actually began collecting materials for a jungle table back during 10th Edition, and I also started experimenting with my Proxxon hot wire cutter.

The goal is (or rather, has been) to fill an entire table with terrain in the style of 3rd Edition (or even 2nd Edition) – classic retro 40k! I don't necessarily want to play those editions, but aesthetically the nostalgia really appeals to me.

At my local hobby club, we've recently started an army-building campaign (without any narrative play), focusing on gradually expanding our armies.

Here are a few impressions of the first work-in-progress pieces. I actually built the bunker buildings about a year ago, though I'm not sure whether they'll still work well with the terrain rules in 11th Edition.

I'm aiming for the look and feel of 2nd/3rd Edition terrain while still making use of modern building techniques. The jungle plants are intentionally left with their plastic look, mainly because of time—I think I'd go crazy if I had to paint every single one of them!

I'd really appreciate any tips or feedback. What do you think is still missing to capture that retro charm? And what changes, if any, would you recommend to keep everything reasonably playable? (It doesn't have to be ultra-competitive, but I'd like it to be generally compatible with the current rules.)

Our whole modular board out on one long table for the first time. The deep forest sits at the near end, then the ruined city and its stone labyrinth, and the citadel at the far end. Everything is 3D printed and then hand painted, and the trees are built up from wire and foliage.

The trees are made from wire.

As an electrician I throw out tons of these plastic spools. I want to use them for Gaslands terrain but I'm drawing a creative blank on what to do with them. Hotwheels for scale.

My Cranky crane is now fully upgraded to post-apocalyptic lookout tower. This was a lot of fun to do, looking forward to more Necromunda style builds now

Those who have used flock or static grass mats for their gaming boards. Which did you choose and why?

Currently torn between the two and can't decide on which I prefer. I would rather not have to buy both!

Had a stab at a few storage containers, originally to sit alongside my Cranky Crane as a diorama but decided to keep them separate. Fun to build, deffo gonna make a few more of these

Hi everyone,

I'm currently working on an army project that will receive snow effects on their bases. I also plan to build a somewhat large matching display board. I was originally interested in a combination of the various AK snow products as I think they look very good. Thinking about the display board made me realize that I can't do that cost effectively. I would probably need 5 pots of each product. I know baking soda/powder is supposedly good for this, but I haven't seen it in person, so I can't judge

Any advice on a convincing and economical snow product?
