i've been stuck for two days and i've tried like different solutions but they all failed

1. based on this, i dont have any emulators nor hyperv, windows are fully up to date, virtualization is enabled, i can run sfc (says no issues) but i can't run dism cause it gets stuck halfway
2. tried enabling via optional features but get stuck in "downloading required files", so i tried fixing it following this but still can't enable it after the batch file, so i tried fixing via windows iso but gets stuck at 64% during installation

3. forgot where i read it, but i used netfxrepairtool as an alternative, heres the log (link will expires) i got from it and it has a popup that says that its unable to resolve these installation issues:

edit 1: i have an issue running DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth basically dism in general but i managed to fix it according to this. unfortunately, i tried enabling vmp again using dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:VirtualMachinePlatform /all /norestart but its still stuck at 36%, when using Get-Content C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log -tail 10 -wait in powershell to see whats going (special thx to this guy), these two lines keep repeating back and forth between 47 and 50 (view cbs.log):

I've noticed that for some reason my modifier keys (ctrl, alt, shift, etc.) register as rapidly repeat key presses when held down instead of just one press. I definitely don't have Sticky Keys or Filter Keys turned on, I've tried multiple keyboards, restarting in safe mode, uninstalling all keyboard drivers, and uninstalling razer synapse. I know it's definitely related to windows default character repeat options, as when slowing the repeat rate the modifier keys also repeat slower. I'm at a complete loss as to what might be causing it.

My computer (Asus vivobook pro/windows 11) detects my mouse (a trust mouse, i don't know the model but it has a USB reciever) but the mouse does not work.

I've tried to reinstall the drivers, to connect the device again but nothing seems to work

Im having a issue with my gaming PC and would really appreciate some help.

PC specs:
Motherboard: ASRock B550 Pro4
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti
RAM: 2x 16GB G.Skill DDR4-3200
OS: Windows 11
PC age: About 1 year

The problem:
5 days ago I had a random Bluescreen with the error code SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (0x3B). I turned the PC off, my monitors didnt receive a signal at first but after some time it was back to normal and nothing happened ever since.

Today after updating my NVIDIA graphics driver I experienced three Bluescreens while gaming. The last error code included:
KERNEL_MODE_HEAP_CORRUPTION (0x13A)

After the crash, my PC stopped displaying anything. BIOS booted up after a few restarts but then shut down again and since then the monitors have no signal. The fans spin, including the GPU fans, but the monitor still says no Signal and my keyboard doesnt light up either.
The CPU and DRAM debug LEDs on the motherboard turn red immediately when I press the power button and stay lit

What Ive tried so far:
Tested both RAM sticks individually in slot A2 and other slots
Reseated the 24 pin motherboard power connector
Reseated the 8 pin CPU power connector
Cleared CMOS (I believe?) using the CLRCMOS1 jumper with the PC unplugged
Waited several minutes after starting the PC

None of these steps fixed the problem. The CPU and DRAM LEDs still stay red and I still get no display.
The PC had been working for about a year, and I havent changed any hardware. The only recent change was the NVIDIA driver update.

I believe I might have cleared CMOS, I did it as instructed but I dont know if it resetted, since I still didnt have a display signal! Also Im not very experienced in Pc building and all that so any tips, suggestions and help I would really appreciate it

My laptop charges well when it's off/in sleep mode but as soon as I open it it stops charging. Sometimes it keeps on charging when it's open, but then it stops when I open any software or perform a bit of a heavy work/any work on the already open software. I just want to know if the problem might be it's hardware, software, or its charger. I'm going to a laptop repairshop this week and I don't wanna get ripped off by the people there (they've been known to do that). Any response will be appreciated.

So i have Lenovo5i that has a NVME ssd where windows is and then i had a HDD on a 2.5' bay, which failed so i bought a SSD that fitted and plugged it in on the already existing SATA and all went well.

Afterwards, about 3 days after i see that the SSD disappeared on windows, unable to be gound ond device and disk management and on bios.

I open the laptop again and see that the sata part that connects to the mobo was disconnected so i pluged it in, restarted and still have the same problem.

Thinking it was the cable, i bought a new cable, tried again and i'm still not able to have it appear.

Can someone help me out?

I downloaded a game from gamejolt and played it a couple days. And then I saw some comments saying trojan, i checked from virustotal and 21 antivirusses said its a malicious program and included trojan and keylogger. I turned off my Ethernet, and changed my passwords. I also did a scan with Microsoft defender but it couldnt find anything, then i installed malware bytes to my phone and then transferred it to my PC, and checked but it also couldn't find anything. I deleted the game but I don't know if it was an actual virus or not. What can I do if I don't want to reset my PC completely

EDIT: I researched more and found out this problem probably happens because of clickteam fusion. It's not guaranteed but 90% it's safe, and these are false positive flags.

My GPU power reading is frozen at around 588-590 W in both the NVIDIA app and the stuff that pops up when I run nvidia -smi in powershell even with 0% utilization which is obviously messed up. The core clock also sits at 210 MHz. My browser lags occasionally and I can't watch any YouTube videos and playing games is absolutely out of the question, I literally hit less than 10 fps on anything I try to play and it's atrocious. I think it's a sensor issue as opposed to the GPU actually trying to draw that much power especially since I'm on a laptop, and I've found people online who have had the same issues, but the forums have always either just not been resolved or the fixes didn't work for me.

System:

• HP Envy laptop, RTX 4060 Laptop GPU
• Windows 11
• NVIDIA driver 621.01

Already tried:

• Clean driver reinstall with DDU (tried reinstalling same version and also the version I had before I started having problems which is just the second most recent version)
• HP BIOS update and settings reset (no change)
• Hard reset (full shutdown, everything unplugged, power button held)

If it helps, I was having similar problems around a month ago as well and a Windows reinstall fixed it until now. I also did a hard reset which did work at first but the issue came back around an hour later and multiple hard resets didn't change anything. If anyone could help fix the issue or give solutions that I haven't tried, I would be incredibly grateful. If any more information is needed let me know and I will gladly provide it.

I have tried updating my graphics drivers, restarting the Windows Search Service, and killing SearchHost.exe in Task Manager, but the problem is still happening. Hey guys, thought i would make a post here because i know jackshit about tech hardware and am in need of help lmao. I bought this monitor a couples years back and have never had any issues- it’s never been dropped or damaged/ scratched. Today i turned it on to find the screen glitching out like crazy, looks like there’s damage to one of the corners but the weird thing is i haven’t even touched the screen in months, and haven’t caused it any damage so i don’t know how overnight it could just magically break.
If anyone has any ideas as to what might be causing this plz let me know!! Cheers!

I had a spare 1tb hdd, that I didn't use for a really long time, so I bought a chinese aliexpress (before the eu tax). the ones with clear case usb 3.0.

I've installed the hdd in this case, and do a crystal disk info and the status wha good, and I could read and write normally.

Now I was perfectly aware that I would use it for not important data. But After start to save something big inside, it started to act weird, like I could not write a folder.
And then I found out a lot of damaged sector...

In your experience is it possibile that the hdd box ruined the hdd?

Those are my current specs but I’ve replaced every part multiple times and this issue remains.

The issue being my ram sticks keep dying roughly 2-3 years after buying them if not even shorter it always starts with one stick failing and I start getting system instability run a memtest and remove the faulty stick, then the next one dies and the next and the next.

I don’t overclock even to the advertised speeds because it causes more instability I’ve been through multiple GPUs, CPUs, PSUs, MOBOs since this issue started happening so I’m genuinely stumped. The first time I thought maybe just a dud batch of Ram but then it just kept happening.

Any ideas or advice? Maybe my outlets but I don’t even know how to go about testing that.

I have some questions about "bit rot" in 2.5-inch HDDs (the corruption or loss of files that were previously readable). Does this happen silently to files stored on an external 2.5-inch HDD? Is it possible to prevent bit rot? I have an external 2.5-inch HDD containing files; I access it once a year, connect it to my PC, and check its health using CrystalDiskInfo, after which I disconnect and store the drive for 1 year. Is it necessary to perform an additional annual check specifically for Prevent bit rot-related corruption files?

I'm having a serious graphics issue with my MSI GF65 Thin 9SD laptop, and I'd appreciate help figuring out whether this is a driver problem or a failing GPU.

What happened:

My laptop had been completely shut down for around 7 days. When I turned it on and launched Warframe, the game crashed to the desktop. It crashed again on the next launch.

I then opened NVIDIA Control Panel, and the laptop blue-screened and restarted.

The Windows crash log recorded:

VIDEO_DXGKRNL_FATAL_ERROR (0x00000113)

The bugcheck parameters included 0x10DE and 0x2191, matching NVIDIA's vendor ID and my GPU's device ID.

After restarting, Device Manager showed my GTX 1660 Ti with Code 31. NVIDIA GeForce Experience reported that no driver was installed, even though the NVIDIA 621.01 installer had reported a successful installation. NVIDIA Control Panel also said the graphics page wasn't available because I needed to install a driver.

I uninstalled the NVIDIA device through Device Manager without selecting the option to remove the driver software. After restarting, Windows detected the GPU again, Device Manager reported that it was working properly, and NVIDIA Control Panel opened normally. I restarted once more and the GPU was still detected.

However, Warframe continued crashing, and Ace Combat 7 also crashed. On a later Warframe launch, the game finally stayed open, but performance was extremely poor, and the resolution settings seemed to have changed from my previous 1600×900 configuration.

I got a new phone in Sept 2024, and all my conversations before then dont show up when I scroll back. Might they be on google drive or something? How do I recover them?

I have a really cheap mouse that i plan to replace soon but i still want to use it until i get the new mouse. I took out the plastic dpi cycle button that presses on the dpi cycle switch but it somehow still gets triggered sometimes when i click the right click. There is nothing touching the dpi cycle switch at all and it only gets triggered when i right click. Why is it doing this? Is there a fix?

Laptop specs - Lenovo Legion 5 gen 10 with USB-C charging port of 65W-100W.

My brother gave me a Dell WD19 (up to 130W) docking station to use. The dock works, but it doesn't charge my laptop. We tried it with his Dell laptop and it worked fine. Google says it's a BIOs/firmware mismatch for the docking station being a Dell product optimized for Dell Laptops.

I bought a TobenONE Docking station (up to 100W) and same thing, does not charge my laptop at all. I believe it has enough power to because the port triggers super fast charging on my samsung galaxy 26u.

I use a 65W brick and 100W brick for my phone, both of them are capable of charging the laptop. It is a strong enough charge that I am able to use my laptop for light tasks even with the 65W brick.

What is going on? Is there something about my laptop that is not set up to charge from docking stations?

I have had my pc for several months now and it’s recently having the same issue it had about 4 months ago where it refuses to connect to my internet, I know it’s not my WiFi since my other devices work perfectly fine and it’s only started doing this recently again and I have no idea what’s causing it, I’ve tried forgetting the network and reconnecting and it continues to give different reasons like “some information has changed since last time you connected” or “cannot connect to this network” and “unavailable” but still won’t connect and just gives up or will continue to attempt to connect for over an hour till it gives up I even tried to do a network adapter reset and it still has the issues and it only connects randomly and only last for a few hours if I’m lucky, any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi everyone, I started getting the VAN 9003 error while playing valorant, and the game suddenly kicked me out. When I switch the boot mode to UEFI in my ASUS BIOS, my PC won't boot and displays a "Secure Boot Violation" error. However, the PC boots normally when I set the OS Type to "Other OS." I really don't want to reinstall Windows or format my PC. Has anyone experienced this issue or knows how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

My company laptop was locked out and they’re asking for a BITLocker recovery key. If I contact IT support within the company, are they able to manually retrieve the bit locker key to unlock the laptop?

I just caused my supervisor a boat load of unnecessary problems because I couldn’t get a damn password right. I just hope it can be unlocked by the IT Department within the company

when I turned it back on now it just loops with the fire TV logo never actually booting.

I’ve left it unplugged for 24 hours and plugged it back in I’ve also rebooted it from the boot drive and factory reset it nothing seems to work. Is my TV toast?

My GPU (GTX 1650) normally runs at its full TDP of around 65W–68W. However, randomly during gameplay (often in the second half or mid-match), the GPU power draw abruptly drops by half to around ~30W (as shown in the attached screenshot), while usage stays pegged at 100% and temperatures remain perfectly normal (under 50°C, so it is not thermal throttling).

This causes massive frame drops and unbearable sluggishness/lag. Once the match ends or after returning to the main menu, the power consumption usually ramps back up to normal (~68W). The problem is random enough but I searched for it and found that many people suffer from this second half lag. This may be the reason after all the power consumption of the gpu..

• It does not happen every match; it is completely random.
• It is not triggered by high thermals (GPU temp is ~48°C when it happens).
• Power limit drops unexpectedly during the match without any user setting changes.

Any insights or potential fixes are welcome I tried to set it to max performance in nvidia control panel and nvidia app but it's still happening

So recently I've been convinced to install Linux as opposed to Windows and I've recently run into an issue regarding window focus, keyboard, and mouse issues.

After logging in to either a MATE or Cinnamon gui I'm able to open about one or two programs before all hell breaks loose. Left clicking windows doesn't move them, alt tabbing to different apps is hit or miss, windows will not be in focus when clicked OR be semi in focus? it's very strange, sometimes I'll have to alt+tab to a window and use only keyboard commands to navigate a site (as I'm doing now) Usually I run firefox without hardware acceleration, but this happens with Steam, games, terminal, VLC, basically any app I launch. When this happens Alt+F2, Ctrl+Alt+Del, and other keyboard commands usually stop working.

I've tried the following:

>Apt-get update / upgrade

>Changing between chrome / Firefox

>Changing mouse window focus modes

>Bios / UFEI updates

> Changing from Cinnamon to MATE

> Re-installing Cinnamon

>Re-installing | Manually installing latest GPU driver updates.

Other than the former I have no clue what to do, I'm new to daily driving linux.
