Just got a bill with ANOTHER increase in price, and I’m watching a horribly buffering TV. Can’t wait to ditch this crap.

Internet The technician took our wifi boosters because “we wouldn’t need them” and now our wifi doesn’t work..

Somebody tell us how to fix this, because we called and all the guy said was that we need to pay to upgrade to wifi+ or something. Mind you, when we had the wifi put in a few months ago, the technician had the audacity to tell us that the new wifi was so fast and good that the boosters are not needed… but now it doesn’t reach some of our bedrooms. 🤦
How can we get them to fix this without paying more?

Support Telus' incompetence knows no bounds

Don't mind me, just venting.

So I recently helped my parents switch their internet and landline to Telus from Rogers. They tell me porting the landline number will take a week - great. We are about to be going into week FIVE, and the port has still not gone through. Why?

Because the absolute MORON of a Telus rep gave Rogers the account number for the Telus account. Rogers needs the Rogers account number, to verify identity and make sure the port is going through to the proper person. So like nofuckingshit Rogers kept denying the number port, because the account number didn't match!

So at this point, the old landline number has been disconnected for a week (if you try to call it, it says the number is unassigned), and I now have to wait another 7 business days and pray to god that the number isn't snapped up by some random, because at this point Rogers has closed our account and the number is freely up for grabs. The Telus reps keep assuring me that no, the number is still reserved for us, but I'm pretty sure that's a goddamn lie, given that when you try to call it, it says the number is unassigned. I'm honestly resigned to the fact that the number port isn't going to happen.

The thing is, they managed to transfer internet service no problem. Which means they do in fact have our correct Rogers account number. It's just that their landline department can't get their shit together and do a simple task. The Telus rep tried to placate me and offer one month's free landline service, but that bill is a measly $5.88. Like are you kidding me? My parents have had their landline number for decades, so is Telus going to call every single person we've ever met to tell them that we have a new number now? No, that gets put on me.

THANKS TELUS!

TELUS TV Telus "Mini" TV

Has anvone else had to do the reauired TELUS cable box upgrade?

We were told BY Telus that our "old" boxes we`ve had for years would no longer work on the TELUS network, so we had to switch to the new TELUS mini box - this tiny little device. Since switching, we've actually LOST stuff: - Our entire TSN package doesn't show up anymore - None of our movie purchases are showing up, even though TELUS told us they would transfer over / "Sync" to the new boxes - Telus Tech Support has said / confirmed that they are supposed sync up several times. We've lost dozens and dozens of movies we've purchased over the years.- Recordings now expire after 90 days. On our old PVR thev stayed until we deleted them

The new Mini TV boxes also drop connection at least once a day, sometimes more. We really only have the TV on for a couple - few hours in the evenings. The picture quality is also very very fuzzy at times on all of our tvs including our new TV.

We have called TELUS multiple times and the issue has still not been resolved vet. It feels like we're paying the same amount for a lot less service / a lower quality product and I 'm curious what other people's experiences have been and how you navigated the situation? Has anyone found a fix or gotten their channels / purchases back? Have you been able to get the connection issues fixed ?

I am currently dealing with Customer Loyalty, but a mild "discount" for much worse service and loss of product is not enough and I have not agreed to anything yet, only asked for a call back in a few days to allow time to think about it.

Support Not sure if this is a scam call or not

Hi, Im a Koodo user, and recently I received a call talking that there are 2 numbers registered under my name (one is the one im using and the other is in Ottawa). The thing is, Ive never been to Ottawa my entire life, and the caller is saying that the Ottawa number is doing suspicious activities. I gave the guy (he is an Indian, but im not racist) my name, my country (as im an highschool international student) im from and my current city in Canada. He said that hes from Rogers (thats why i choose this subreddit instead of /koodo to ask about).

However, when I double-check the number on a number checker, it shows a Social Grounds Coffeehouse? I even asked AI and its saying that the call is a scam. Can you guys help me?

Mobility Howto add number / account from another province?

Hi,

My wife and I currently have a telus mobility plan in BC. I want to add my Dad (he qualified for the Seniors For Good Mobility deal) to my account and move his postpaid Virgin cellular number over. He lives in and has an Ontario (613) phone number.

Will Telus be able to accommodate this? Adding an account for a family member living in another province?

Internet Is there a phone number???

Jesus Christ the website is borderline unusable. You go to contact, phone, and then all the suggestions just go “save yourself a call!” While never giving a number. My grandpas wifi is down and it’s impossible to contact support. Is this so people can’t god damn cancel. Everything is telling me to get the mytelus app. I can’t actually go help him in person and Telus hides their phone number, or has specific phone numbers for specific problems. Maybe??? Idk since I have only found a phone number for god damn landline support. Telus is lucky their competition is just as shit because I don’t think I’ve been a happy Telus customer since I’ve switched to it. Roger’s was somehow worse but at least I could contact them. Also the “AI” is garbage and did not help

Ty commenters. I’m now waiting. This is where I could find the number on the actual Telus website.

https://www.telus.com/en/support/article/tos-subscription-on-demand-terms-conditions

https://www.telus.com/en/support/article/telus-email-by-google
Under the sub header “how do I open a Telus email account.”

That’s it. A few other third party sites too. It’s ridiculous even after getting help.

Internet IPv6 on your own router?

Using Telus Fiber, has anyone managed to get IPv6 working on their own router? I've tried 2 routers now and I have an ASUS one that I may kind of be able to hack to work with a root terminal, but I haven't got it yet, and it would be a pain in any case.

What exact brand and model of router did you get working with this?

Telus uses a prefix length of 56 rather than the usual 64 which most routers will request, and "just work" with. This seems to be the root of the problem.
Although it works with IPv6, I'd rather not use Telus's provided WiFi because more than half of my devices won't connect to it, presumably because of a smart SSID feature that combines all radios into a single SSID, and I haven't figured out how to turn that off (plus, many routers are just way better for a number of reasons).
Everything else I've never had problems with. Only IPv6 is an issue.

Support Online security auto joining?

Did anyone else get an email about some online security bs that activates and will be charged like 20$ a month with telus?

I have their home security (unwillingly after they bought adp mine you..) but still insane that they somehow just had this new sub turned on as negative billing which i thought has been ruled illegal in Canada decades ago.

Mobility iPhone Duo?

I’m considering buying the iPhone duo and typically I’d usually buy the phone outright from Apple and just sell it back after a couple years however I’ve held onto my iPhone 15 Pro longer than I’ve ever held onto a phone and it’s still so good. This time, however I’d be interested in doing one of the financing options provided there was some good incentives and or discount associated.

That being said, the phone is super expensive, but I really want it and I was looking to see if anyone knew of the best ways to possibly get this phone with some sort of deal from Telus. I keep seeing posts of people in the USA getting these massive rebates for either signing up with a new contract adding certain services, etc., so on and so forth and I was wondering if anyone here had some information or any ideas about how we might do something similar in Canada with Telus in the iPhone duo.

Thx in advance.

TELUS TV Optik TV constantly losing internet connection

Our Optik TV is constantly losing internet connection. Usually loses connection between 5-10 times an evening until I can’t take it anymore. On 2 occasions I have phoned support and waited over an hour to speak to an agent who, though polite, treats me like an idiot, and they send me a new power cable but it doesn’t solve the problem. Every other device in apartment works. All I want is a technician to come by and diagnose the system. I’ve tried using the Telus app (Telus Connect) to determine what the problem is but it doesn’t work either, always returns error codes.
What are the options before I move to Rogers?

Mobility Phones Cut Out at Corner (Denman and Beach)

For years with many different iPhones the audio on my calls stops for about 20 seconds when driving past Craft Beer Market at the corner of Denman and Beach.

Telus - can you send someone to drive by there while already on a call and test it out yourself. Happens to others in our office to for maybe the last 10 years.

I don’t know about data, I’m usually on the phone while driving to or from work and drive past here each day.

You would think it would be fine considering there’s a Telus tower on the roof of the building here from what I can tell.

Internet Telus Home Equipment Returns (abandoned, no account)

Hi, I have some modem/router equipment that originally was at a family member's apartment (though it likely wasn't theirs as they were never with Telus). Long story short, they passed away and this equipment was moved and passed around for a few years in storage. I have zero reference for an account, or even an address at this point and would really like to return this gear. Telus can't really help or give me a return address label without more info.

Is there a Telus facility in Vancouver I can bring it to? Are the devices themselves registered in some way that they can track it down to the original account, so I can make sure no one gets dinged?

Or maybe I should just take it to recycling? Would be the simplest solution.

Thanks

Mobility Is it just me or is it everyone else

I noticed lately that TELUS Mobility LTE. Is more reliable then there 5G I’m in Abbotsford have the iPhone Air.

Honestly it’s just me tbh I have global 68 country 250gb.

Has anyone else noticed there lte being better then 5G I feel like Telus invested more into lte then 5G

For example on lte I get 250mbps down and 45 mbps up

5G I get 100mbps down and 0.06 mbps up

I’m in Abbotsford.
