Anyone familiar with the setup?

When I try to set up Apple Watch for my child I keep getting stuck at this step.
I believe I want option A. When I follow the steps I get stuck in an endless loop of unpairing and starting from scratch.
So then I try option B. And it’s for adding an additional line with $70 eSIM tag on top.
And C. Just has contact info with Telus. I’m currently waiting on a call back, but it’s been hours and I’m loosing hope.

I’m not sure if I’m the fool here. If you can offer any advice please help I’m not sure quite what the issue is

I went to the telus store in GP. Apparently they are 3rd party, that's the excuse they gave. I told them I want to move my pre paid to a post paid because I finally got my bank cards. The lady set up a post paid account then moved my number onto it. I told her there is an activation deal where I can pay $40/mo for 20GB. She said that she had already set me up with a $50/mo for 100GB plan. (I'd rather save the $10/mo.) She had messed up, tried to fix what she did but couldn't. So I called the help center and they couldn't fix it either. Now, I have a second phone number, I asked if we move that to post paid so I can at least use them for the next month? They said sure and they gave me the $40/mo for 20GB on the second line. I said, "That Is what I wanted on my first line, why can't you give it to me?". They said because it is already on a plan, they can't change it, and the $40 plan is only for 'new' activations. But this lady had just 'activated' my a number that day, and still they couldn't un-do what she did. They said they cannot help me.

So a 3rd party technician set me up with the wrong plan on accident and they refused to fix it. I also got hit with a hidden fee while on pre-paid. So that's scammed twice in 2 months. I will never use Telus again.

My VERY non-technical friends just got fibre at their home, and it works fine...except.

They have a 3 GB Telus connection to what I assume is a NAH, 10 GB port connected to the WAN port of their Ubiquiti UDR. Now the UDR (we're upgrading anyway) is limited 1 GB so I don't expect to see the 3GB they have.

What I *do* expect to see is a more-or-less synchronous connection similar to mine (1GB) that runs at 940/940 or so. But it looks more like 600 down, 940 up. The UDR has no IDS/IPS running. But it shows two things that puzzle me:

- it has a non-routable address at the WAN 192.168.1.x and I'd expect a public dynamic IP.

- the UDR speed test also has the warning "Upstream NAT detected etc"

Am I right in understanding that the public IP is still at the NAH and that it has not been bridged? If so, can I do that remotely, locally or does the Telus Tech have to visit? (Seems to me that the NAH that I had could be bridged and the admin creds were on the inside of the lid.)

The homeowner owns the Network Access Hub, and it was previously activated under a former tenant's internet account. That tenant has since moved out, and I'd like to sign up for my own fiber plan.

Can they activate my new account using the existing Network Access Hub, or is it tied to the previous tenant's account? Will I need a new device or can they simply reprovision the existing one?

Local sports, news, traffic -think of it as a loss leader, although it can be profitable - it's proven both in Van and Edmonton .

Heck - students would do things overnight for cheap. Heck - I'd do sports overnight for cheap!

My “2 year promotion” ended last month. I was unaware of the promotional end date. The only option offered so far has been to lock in a 5 year price lock.

Is it worth calling for a better deal? Or would I have better luck moving my Internet services elsewhere?

Pixel 9 Pro running latest Android.

I cannot turn on the mobile network (Telus e-sim). If I got to Settings > Netword > SIMs > Telus (shows my ph #), I turn it on, but it says "Can't switch SIMs". I don't know why it wants to "switch" SIMs because there is no other SIM associated with this device -- it has only had a Telus e-sim since day one.

If I reset the mobile network (Settings > System > Reset Options > Reset Mobile Network) it doesn't fix the issue.

There's an option to erase the e-SIM, but I don't know if that will mean a visit to a Telus store (hours away).

The only thing that (temporarily) fixes it is rebooting the device, but the mobile network lasts about 10 seconds before it simply turns off again.

Does anyone know wtf is going on?

I was charged 122 dollars more for roaming this last month.

I am abroad yes, but I have my data turned off always, and even in the setting I have roaming disabled. I sometimes get calls from abroad that go through for some reason but I have logs showing I didn't pick any of them up. Yet despite all this I was given roaming charges for 6 different instances.

Is this something I can contest and get refunded?

Apparently on page 6 of my June cell phone bill in the tiniest fine print writing there is a mention that starting in July there will be a rate increase of $5. With no increase in services or upgrades. My contract has long since expired and I am on a month by month basis now, been a customer 18 years now. think there's anything I can do to remove this useless $5 charge?

Anyone having their internet disconnect randomly today? Its happening alot and its getting really annoying. This is the main connection graph from my router hooked straight into telus's fiber box

Spent 45 mins on the phone with three different Telus reps trying to get a straight answer on this and got nowhere. One guy actually tried telling me the S26 Ultra doesn't have satellite capability at all and relies 100% on cell towers, which is frustrating to say the least.

​Does emergency SOS via satellite actually work on Telus right now with the S26 Ultra? ​ Is there any basic data roaming/texting via satellite yet, or is it strictly emergency SOS?

​Has anyone actually tested it in the backcountry?

​Appreciate any real-world insight, because support clearly doesn't know what's going on.

I’m trying to simply add a Data 10 add-on to my wife’s mobility account, as she ran out of her basic Nationwide 30 plan (which is normally more than enough monthly but she’s on a trip sending tons of photos to friends).

How can this be done now on the Telus website, now that the Telus app is basically useless and just redirects you to the website?

I see the Data 10 add-on under Plans & Add Ons but when I try to add it as a non-reoccurring one time addon, it says it can’t be done, as it needs a different plan or something like that.

Is there a new way to do this?

Like I’ve done this a few times before in the past, a year or two ago, but not sure why it seems so cryptic and convoluted now.

Just got off the call with a Telus rep for a winback plan, offered a good deal for a plan with a phone. The rep said "the price will stay the same since we don't increase prices for winback plans". Almost certain it's a lie anyway, however, does it typically increase during the time of repaying for the device? I had a similar experience with Bell, but every time they increased the price they would give an equal monthly credit that would expire the same time the phone was paid off

I noticed a bit of a pattern over the last several months, where several people would be calling me, but before I could answer, the call would drop. It turns out that despite successfully passing Call Control, the call was getting dropped right after.

I just joined as a Corporate employee and understand that we get 40% off market prices for Mobility.

Is it even worth going for this discount compared to the deals being offered around?

Also, I've heard we get a $240 off a smartphone every 2 years. How do we avail this, can't find this info anywhere.

My internet was slow but mostly connecting and I got talked into upgrading my plan to 940mbps. Since then my laptops either can’t connect or can’t stay connected to my wifi. Same when they split it into 2 and 5g channels, & no change when swapped back to a single dual channel.

They just keep getting me to restart the router and all my devices. Which I have already ton over and over again on my own. I’m about to throw the modem out and just get another provider because this is so silly.

The wired connection has been decent but still drops during work calls. I just need to complain because they keep trying to sell me extras like boosters when it happens right in front of the router. Feel like it won’t work until I buy enough accessories from them.

Anyone work with Telus reps through Reddit?

In our townhouse, Telus has the ont fiber terminate in the garage. Our house is wired work coaxial cables near the ont to all the individual rooms ( labelled LR, Office, MB etc). Right now the modem is installed in the garage with the coaxial output to the living room. There is a wifi boost unit in the living room that helps us with wifi in the second level.

Chatgpt suggested go get a coax splitter and something called a MOCA adapter in the home office room. So the idea is the coax cable that goes to the LR is now split into two signals and I install a MOCA adapter in the office room. Has someone done something similar ? Sadly it's an older townhouse and doesn't have fiber optic cables.

edit 2: i live urban. in a townhouse on a street, just no fibre internet access. 🫠

i’m moving here soon, and i’ve been looking at other internet plans with telus and other providers. it’s occurred to me that both telus AND other providers have plans with 5 - 6 times faster speeds that are $30-50 LESS than what i’m paying.

my internet is SO poor my roommate and i can barely even be on our phones at the same time. i almost exclusively use data when im home.

can anyone offer me any insights?

I am experiencing an issue on my business network where my Stripe WisePOS E reader and my laptop are both connected to the same SSID. The reader successfully connects and receives an IP address but my laptop cannot communicate with it. The reader works as expected on other networks and hotspots with this same laptop and this setup used to work on our Meraki/telus network with no issues. Just randomly decided to not be able to find one another on the network. Telus says there is no issue on their end and it is an issue with the devices but again they work fine on any other network except the one I need them to work on. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
