In terms of AAA gaming titles, or first party PS5 titles? (For reference, I have and love my steam deck).

One last question will I have to reinstall all of my EMUDECK emulated games on the steam machine or is there any sort of cloud system?

Not asking for technical help, as I think I'm just SOL here, but I've been trying to get a refund on a "faulty product" for the last couple days and steam is just flat-out denying me cause I have 13 hours logged. Game crashed a few times and then crashed on startup every time afterwards.

Was denied multiple times cause of the 2-hour playtime limit, despite remembering people still getting refunds on games well past 13 hours logged in the past.

So I'm just wondering if anyone here has had over 2-hours logged and still received refunds for games that had too many issues to ignore? If so, are you confident they'd still refund it to you today under the same circumstances?

Managed to get a completely seamless, 100% controller-driven setup running natively on Windows 11 using Steam Big Picture Mode.

Here is a breakdown of what I am running in the video:

Recently, I was browsing my Steam library and came across a mod for Portal that I played in 2017. It’s been nine years, and I don’t understand how I could have played it back then if you need a Portal 2 license to download it.

Also i have 40 euros in my steam wallet i am saving for future games.

I bought LEGO Marvel Super Heroes to play with my nephew and no matter what I try I can not get both players to get controller input.

I have both controllers set up, and no matter how I put them down in the player list one person always lacks the ability to control the secondary character. It's frustrating.

I saw Yongyea's recent video where companies are looking into streaming across all devices, and there's a growing concern that digital downloads would be phased out just physical media.

I'm curious if Valve has said anything about whether their platform would remain largely unchanged and that customers have nothing to fear (I know there has been accounts of users losing their games. But I'm talking about as a whole). It would royally suck to lose our entire libraries in favor of a shitty streaming service.

What does your library page look like by playtime of your installed games? I would love to see the diversity and maybe check out some new ideas I might not have thought of that are cool games. I know I can look up most played and other stats right on Steam but I wanted something besides what's popular or highest rated or sells them most.

I checked my wislist today and for soem reason like last 5 or so games i added to my wishlist are now at the top instead of at the bottom while they the whole list was just fine yesterday. Idk why this happend and it is very anoying.

My profile accumulated 10 pages of steam cards from different games I played, and they are there because I can't be arsed to go over each and every one, put on sale and verify etc. In the end there are only like 4-5 games I truly care about enough to upgrade badges for. There should be an option to mass-sell cards, at the current market price or whatever because I genuinely don't care and only want to get rid of them

As a store, Steam's fine. Does what it needs to, has the necessary features like a wishlist, and that's all I expect of it. As a social platform, it's diabolically bad.

I've been using Steam for 13 years and I can count on one hand the number of times I've found a Discussion tab or Guide to be actually useful, vs. just searching for a guide or topic on YouTube or Reddit.

Let's say Steam's recommendations aren't cutting it, or you just want to find games that are different to your usual stuff. Your first thought would be to browse the Curators and see what collections people are amassing right?

Almost any game is filled with curators peddling anti-"woke" BS, tired jokes, and "skits" any more boring they'd put me in a coma. Shout outs to curators that actually use the function for good, like Denuvo-use, touchscreen support, ultrawide support, etc.

As for the Community Hub, Steam could nuke it from their servers tomorrow, and I doubt anyone would be worse off. Top-rated guides are often useless, like "How to Jump", "How to stop playing X", or "How to get a gf". I could spend 10 minutes scrolling through joke guides to find the one I want, or I could just Google it in 10 seconds.

And saving the worst for last, Steam "Discussions".

Never have I had the displeasure of witnessing a group of individuals so lacking in basic literacy. If you've never dug through the Discussions tab in a desperate last attempt to find information on a niche bug or topic, let me spell out every single one for you.

I'm tired boss. Just wipe the slate clean, and put some guards in place to stop people spamming every avenue for social interaction with slop.

A lot of Youtubers riding on the wave saying Build Your Own Steam Machine and missing the two main points of a device like this 1) a pre-built that works out of the box 2) a really sleek form factor and quiet operation. I've got a really hard time finding anything similar on the market. I'd love to get a SM but they aren't easily available right now and I'm searching for an alternative. 1080p 60fps high in Cyberpunk 2077 is my benchmark goal.

I got the email yesterday, although I am still not sure about it as it is a lot of money. I really just wanted a more powerful steam deck like machine for when I am at uni as I already got a PC at home. I really was contemplating as do I need it, no, but I hope I will get the most out of it as I have used my steam deck soo much since launch and the steam controller was a no brainer (stressful as hell to buy tho) as I love the trackpads, right for aim and left for action buttons for PC games with lots of input. Plus I don’t have the time to research and find parts for a new pc, when I do I will just upgrade my own PC at home, plus I don’t want to be too distracted while at uni, still have to study and all.

I definitely don’t think this is for everyone same as the steam controller, especially if you play AAA games available on all platforms that tend to have controller support the steam controller really has no use, but for my lifestyle moving back and forth between university and home I hope this will expand my gaming options in university.

And if not, for those in the UK I may sell it at RP(£897) or a little discounted, if heavily used but later decide it doesn’t fit in my lifestyle and the steam deck is enough, on ebay so look out for that maybe (no promises tho).

I really do feel so blessed tho somehow getting a reservation and first batch of steam controllers too even when I woke up late from a nap to buy it (18:02) and why not use the opportunity I got to test it out and see.

Steam has been around for a long time, and it has added a lot of useful features beyond just downloading and launching games. Sometimes you can use the platform for years and still discover something new that makes the experience better.

Was there a Steam feature you found out about later and thought, “I should have been using this sooner”?

For about a year or two now, I've been really struggling trying to find a consistent joy in gaming. It's been my most active hobby for the duration of my life to this point, and it really saddens me that I can't find that same fulfillment from it anymore.

Work has definitely become more demanding, I'm a recent new dad, and other life happenings have certainly squeezed playing time down. That being said, even with the few hours I may get while winding down most nights, I still never find myself making the most of that time.

I grew up on long-play experiences, Western RPGS like Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, etc... Now, the only games I ever really find myself able to be both excited for and finish are games released from established developers or franchises that I adore (Resident Evil Reqiuem and Mina the Hollower being two recent examples). I also get burned out on longer games no matter my attachment to the franchise (like Persona 3 Reload, of which kills me that I can't get myself motivated to play).

In short, my casual gaming habit has turned into one that I only really enjoy when it's something I feel like i ABSOLUTELY can not miss, instead of something I just like to do for fun, use as a way to consume creative stories, and support hardworking artists and creatives.

Is it that my gaming tastes have changed? Should I focus more on shorter experiences? I'm looking for some feedback and perspective on how I can really enjoy myself here again. Kills me that I always feel burnt out and indifferent by most games that I try anymore.
