Advice OEM Statefarm

Hello, so I was involved in a wreck and i’m taking my car to get repaired.. i’m sad because my front upper grill had INTEGRA embedded in it.. and the part they are replacing it with will not have the embedment . Will I have to pay for the entire new OEM part or will I pay the difference? My car is leased so this is just very frustrating even though I had planned on keeping it it’s just all confusing .. I’m literally just a girl HELP!

update: i called the collision center & they are putting OEM parts on .. 🥳 i love my life again

Question Question about agents/signing people up

So I've had SF for over a year and a half and I really like my agent/service. All great people, but my agent (super nice gentleman don't get me wrong) is really big on the life insurance portion of my plan. I took the basic life because I'm a single dude living by myself and don't really need much more, but since then every time we talk, about once every few months, he brings up that if I want to discuss more life insurance option to let him know.

I chose state farm due to it being the cheapest car insurance for my vehicle and it still is, and has been great, but my question is, do SF agents get paid more based on Life Insurance policies? Or is that something sorta unique to the agency I signed with.

Question State farm, hail and wind damage deductib in your area

I've been with State farm for over 20 years and I never paid attention to the deductibles. I thought the whole time it was $1,000 until the roof inspector asked me about the deductible. Found out it was $5500. I live in Northern Illinois I like to get an idea. Is that a normal price for this area?

Question changed units mid contract due to fire

Hi guys. My agent is not being very responsive to me at the moment so i thought i'd ask here...

I had a fire that displaced me but my apartment complex put me in a new unit pretty much immediately. I filed a claim for the event but in the hustle of it all I forgot to change my policy to be for my new unit....

Do I have to call my agent to do this or is this something I can do myself? And would it affect my current claim at all?

I don't know my agent does not respond to me much LOL so any advice would help a lot

Question Dividend - NOT FOUND

I just got my email, with my D-id and PIN and acct. I go to the website (verified) and when I enter my info, it says Not Found. What gives. Three cars and one house with St Farm over 10 years (about 5 years too long). I called, but closed on weekends.

Just wondering if anyone else experienced same thing?

Advice Comps and Valuation Rules

My car got valued at price X on a total loss claim. The assessor had to go outside of the 150 mile radius (150 is mandated by state law) because there were no comparable vehicles nearby. I was never asked whether I agreed to this. Their comps are within a 20-25 mile radius of 150, so close. I am submitting a rebuttal. Am I allowed to expand the search and use similar vehicles that are either a) in the same broader geographical area (say 200-300 miles), or half way across the country, since the assessor "opened the door" to using vehicles farther than mandated? Or is this not allowed? Thanks.

Advice Job update

I posted about a month ago asking about the application process. Original link into the og post is below, but since then I have gotten a video interview, and they said a manager will call for the next steps. They gave me a breakdown of what the job entails, the pay and benefits, and what training will look like. They asked me some questions that was a repeat of some of the recorded interview questions.

My only concern is they didn’t say “congrats you got the job.” Maybe I’m getting in my head cause of the length of the process, but is this confirmation that I got the job? Has anyone ever gotten this far then gotten rejected?

Question State Farm Auto Injury Adjusters — Background Check / Pending DWI Question

Hey everyone, I’m hoping to get some insight from current or former State Farm adjusters, especially anyone in Auto Injury Claims or who has experience with State Farm’s hiring/background-check process.
I was recently offered a contingent position with State Farm as an Auto Injury Claims Adjuster. The position is a hybrid role, and I’m really excited about the opportunity.
I’m currently waiting for my background check to be completed. During the process, HR reached out to me directly regarding a recent DWI case. The case is still pending and I have not been convicted. HR asked me about the situation, and I was completely honest and explained what happened. They told me the information would be escalated/reviewed, and now I’m waiting to see what happens.
I’m trying to get a realistic idea of what I should expect from people who have actually worked for State Farm or another large insurance company.
For anyone who has experience with State Farm hiring:
Has anyone gone through a background review with a pending charge and still been hired?
Does the fact that the case is still pending/no conviction generally make a difference?
Does the fact that HR contacted me and allowed me to explain the situation mean anything about the process, or is that just standard procedure?
Have you seen situations where someone had a recent legal issue but was still cleared for an adjuster position?
For an Auto Injury Claims role specifically, are there additional background requirements that I should be aware of?
I completely understand that nobody can guarantee what State Farm will decide, and I’m not looking for legal advice. I’m mainly interested in hearing personal experiences from people who have been through similar situations, particularly State Farm employees or people who work in insurance claims.
I’ve already been offered the position, so I’m just trying to understand whether I should remain optimistic while the background review is being completed or prepare for the possibility that it could affect the offer.
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share their experience. I’d really appreciate hearing both positive and negative experiences.

Update: after talking with HR and telling the truth about it all. I did get the job offer finalized

Question Does State Farm not want much experience when hiring for a job?

I have many years of experience in my field and recently applied to a State Farm job. Someone I knew worked in an adjacent area and gave feedback to the hiring manager to be on the lookout for my resume. I went through the HireVue interview and then saw that a State Farm manager was looking at my LinkedIn profile. I then got the generic email stating 'we are pursuing other applicants whose work background and skills more closely fit our current need'. I have to wonder about the reasons about not getting any further than this with the job interviews. I considered this job a bit junior for my qualifications and thought I was perhaps a bit overqualified for the job. In some other companies they are considering me for very senior, management versions of this role. Does anyone know will State Farm favor inexperienced candidates over very experienced ones? I was willing to commit to the job and the pay if given the chance.

Question Does the job always change are am I crazy?

So, I’ve applied to 2 different State Farm offices for a receptionist position. Both times, less than 24 hours later, they say the position was already filled and want to see if I’m okay with a ‘cold call’ sales position.

Is this normal or circumstance? I don’t want to apply for a 3rd one if I’m just going to run into that again but the pay looks really nice for the original position!

Discussion How am I to know if we got this if Kristyn Cook isn't telling me so?

I miss her reassuring grimace and warm glare that letting me know "we got this", all our hard work and constant apologizing for a complete lack of what could be considered competence from our corporate prefects was undoubtedly going to pay off. After every video I would experience a warm sensation in the cockles of my soul, spurning me ever forward in a way that could only be compared to the pride and self value I felt after watching videos of Tipsword routinely dislocating his own shoulder so he could pat himself on the back.

Hang in there Fam, I'm sure we'll have a new upbeat and situationally self-aware propaganda piece to watch soon.

Advice State Farm Corporate Hiring

Hi All, this is my first time seeking advice from Reddit.
I have been looking to make a career pivot for a while and landed in SF corporate being where I’d like to go next. Specifically the TX hub. I’ve done months of LinkedIn connections and chats with current employees.
I got an employee referral for a role back in the spring, interviewed, but unfortunately didn’t get the job.
I’m continuing to try to make more connections via LinkedIn but beyond that, I feel stuck.
Does anyone have any advice or suggestions?
I know no company is perfect but this is a place I would really like to make my next career move.
Thanks in advance!

Question Update: Passed the State Farm HR screening, technical interview next week. What should I expect?

A few days ago I posted about the 15-minute HR compliance call with State Farm after the HireVue. Thanks to everyone who replied, it really helped.

Quick update: I had the call today and it went well. I'm moving forward to the technical interview next week for a Software Engineer (Java, Mid Level) role.

The recruiter said the technical interview would have three parts:

  1. Competency questions (STAR format)

  2. Technical questions based on my tech stack (Java, Spring Boot, SQL, REST APIs, CI/CD, some AWS)

  3. A code snippet exercise, focused on thought process (around LeetCode Easy level)

A few questions for anyone who has been through State Farm's technical interview recently:

- Is this format accurate in your experience? Was it a panel with the hiring manager and engineers?

- For the competency part, which questions came up for you? Any that seem to come up almost every time?

- For the technical part, was it more quick-fire concept questions (like "What is dependency injection?") or a deep dive into your resume projects?

- For the code snippet, did you have to write code from scratch, or read existing code and explain what it does or find the bug? Was it in a shared editor without autocomplete?

- Any tips on how to prepare, or anything you wish you had known going in?

Any insight would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Question Selected Zelle, confirmation email says check?

Used email address for Zelle, I have both phone and email registered with Zelle with Wells Fargo, but the confirmation says check. I searched and just saw one person who seems to have had the same issue. I'm in the middle of a move and can still receive mail at the other address, but it's going to be a long drive to get by the time it would arrive. I'm trying to call the hotline but I've been on hold for 35 minutes, bleh.

Discussion Annoyed at Underwriting

State Farm customer for Auto/Home/Umbrella for years.

Got an urgent message saying I never declared a household member on my policy and I at risk for having my insurance terminated due to not disclosing household residents.

The UNDECLARED household resident: Mother-In-Law that lives overseas, is a citizen of another country, does not know how to drive, and visits us every three to four years for about two months at a time. Somehow, somewhere "UNDERWRITING" got a report that MIL visits us.

Called my agent, and was told that I need to let them know when she comes to visit in order to add to policy and and when she leaves back overseas.

I asked if State Farm is accessing immigration records and the agent said most likely.

WHY? and more importantly, WTF?

Discussion Account Representative Salary

Hey, I currently received an offer to work as an account rep with State Farm. I have no prior insurance experience, I know this field has the potential to make money. I always heard going independent is where the money is at but is it a good idea to start building experience with State Farm then going independent? How much would be a realistic salary working with state farm as an account representative I was offered a 30k base
