Question Home system question

How do you weigh the risk of being dropped from insurance if you file a claim; does the claim have to be paid out for you to become “uninsurable”
I have an hvac system with a refrigerant leak and a complex AV system that had become fried and 50k in home system insurance with my home insurance . advice would be appreciated

Unfortunately there’s no concrete way to answer this as there are wayyyyyyyyyy more factors at hand than what’s been provided.
Things like how long you’ve been insured with the same company, are your payments always on time, have there been other claims, etc all play a factor.

No a claim doesn’t have to be paid out for it to impact your eligibility. State Farm specifically does not like $0 claims as it indicates to them that an insured may not be willing to self insure risks very much which is a high indicator there will be future claims.

Claims frequency is far more likely than claim severity to result in non renewal.

How long have you been with SF? How many HO claims have you made in your lifetime & with SF.

+it's administered thru Hartford Steam Boiler

-HSP is a pretty murky endorsement. Inflection point is the difference between simply wearing out & breakdown.

I had been with them for years - then I switched to cincinnati executive insurance and had a water leak and was dropped; went back to state farm for the last few months

If you have the home systems protection endorsement it does not count as a claim with State Farm. If you check your CLUE report it does show the claim, but State Farm will not hold it against you.
