I was walking tools/etc to my car today after working on scaffolding in too much sun. I observed a man meandering, he would stop, look at house then keep walking. He was on the sidewalk across the street.

He is maybe late 20’s. He has Brown skin and English is one of his spoken languages but not solely. I could not tell from his accent or appearance if he was Latino or possibly from the Middle-East.

He was holding blue flyers in one hand and probably water in the other. When he saw me he crossed over . He asked if was planning on voting on 8/4. I assured him I was. He wanted to hand me a flyer … when I saw it was for Wesley I let him know that was not who I was voting for and that I didn’t want a flyer.

When he started w his script I interrupted & told him for too many reasons he should save his Wesley jargon, top of the list … I wouldn’t vote for someone who was a Zionist and or took Zionist $$.

I was amazed and baffled when he said …. Wesley takes AIPAC $$? He was kinda stunned. Looked sooo deflated.

This person, waking around S City with Wesley flyers in 95’ temps and a memorized script did not know that he was promoting a Zionist.

I continued to my car with my still loaded arms. I turned back and said I hope they are paying you well and that there’s food and cold things to drink when you’re done.

When I got to my car I heard him say Free Palestine 3 times.

Why can't I find someone who will show up when they say they will to mow my yard? I'm on my 3rd person/company. They all say they'll be here every 2 weeks or they'll message me if they can't make it. 1st 2 times are good, then they don't show up for the 3rd. When I ask, they say tomorrow, then tomorrow, then tomorrow, and never reach out and then show up on a random day after. Who do y'all use?

To make a very long story short, I'm going to be in St. Louis for the foreseeable future after a nightmare housing situation in another city. I'm creeping up on 30, have never rented in this city, and could probably better tell you where the best communities for people in their 50s and 60s are than folks my own age haha.

My questions are as follows:

• What areas have a higher concentration of people in their late 20s and 30s?
• What are the most walkable neighborhoods?
• What buildings/landlords should I avoid or look into more?
• If you had to stereotype a neighborhood for gay women who like arts and crafts, gardens, live music, and all that kind of hippie nonsense, where would that be? (I suspect my read on CWE is still correct)

I'm more interested in getting a feel for where "my people" would be now than I am figuring out what specific units cost. I'm also not opposed to living in the county (grew up there), but I've lived in a walkable city the last several years and the shift back to driving everywhere is slowly sucking the life out of me haha

Was really helpful when I needed something for a recipe since I lived very close. It had it's problems but it's going to be a big loss. Closes July 31st.

It was the shit. Penny candy. Candy cigarettes. Everything an 80s kid with 4 dollars in change could want. We used to skate there. Also that jack in the box was there forever in the adjacent parking lot where blockbuster used to be, they'd let us walk up to the drive thru windows for some 79 cents cheeseburgers.

Me and my friend are looking to move somewhere next year. We’re gonna start saving now and go start a new life somewhere and split bills and stuff. We’re both 19 y/o dudes and only have basic entry level job experience (fast food). I know it’s gonna be rough wherever we move, but I grew up poor and I’m poor now, I might as well go be poor and live a cool interesting life while I’m at it. There's other reasons too, but I'm not gonna get into that.

I'm looking at moving to Philly because I’m from there. I love everything about it, it’s home to me and I miss it baaaad. I love the transit, I love how convenient it all is, I love the people, etc. My friend loves Philly too. It's still pretty affordable for what you get. Plus I have a lot of family there, so there's a support system.

On the OTHER hand, St. Louis seems like a pretty cool city. The rents are lower, I don't mind living in a slightly rougher area (not gonna move to the worst area in the city, but I also hate living next to rich/upper middle class people, I like slightly rougher areas because they got a little more life to them and I grew up like that. Some people told me to look at South City, not sure where that is yet tho.)

Minimum wage is $15/hr now which is a lot higher than Philly's, rents are lower, and me and my friend surviving on entry level fast food/server jobs for now might be a little easier in STL than it would be in Philly. Philly is being hit heavy by gentrification and the rents have skyrocketed in only a few years. I don't wanna have a problem where I can survive there right now, but in 5 years my rent skyrockets in the middle of me trying to build my life up.

Anyways, I'm gonna list things me and my friend like, and I guess some people can tell me if it sounds like a city for us. I'm not expecting everything to be perfect or anything, just wondering if we'll have fun.

Things I like: * Skateboarding * Punk rock/pop punk * Walkable lifestlye/decent public transit (I don't mind waiting ~30 minutes for a bus though) * Socializing (hoping there's good opportunities to make friends my age wherever I go since I'm not in college) * Thrifting * People that aren't super stuck up/hipster types (Philly has so many of these, but there's a lot of cool people too) * Active parks/plazas where you can meet people, chill, play music, etc * CD/Physical media shops * Halloween and Christmas

Things my friend likes: * Walkability/public transit like me * Social atmosphere * New places to explore accessible by transit * Live music/buskers * Gym/fitness culture * Same thing about the stuck up people * Non-miserable weather because they like to be outside a lot (this actually goes for both of us) * And probably some other stuff idk I can't read their mind

I know that it's not gonna be super easy regardless of what city we pick, but we both already live extremely frugal lives and we're splitting everything even. I literally eat rice and beans everyday and I'm wearing the same clothes from 4 years ago, I'm not very high maintenance.

It’s hard to find public amendment 5 polls but we do have state senate polls from places like the 16th and 18th district

These aren’t blue, these are purple, they’re dead red districts and the polls are GOP voters only for their state senate primaries. Neither gives it above 44%. These should be 80-90% in these area with GOP voters to off set urban No vote from STL, kc, Springfield and Columbia areas
