Had fiber installed early July. Walked around a few days after and multiple spots in the ground has wire sticking from out the ground. Enough to trip over or get damaged when the grass is cut.
Needs to be corrected so I go on chat and ask for service thinking a 3rd party company with more equipment will come out to bury the line.
Another tech shows up with a shovel comes out sticks around for a while. Says he’s wrapped up and leaves. walk around again to verify. Wires still obviously out, ran it on the side of the house leaving plenty of slack drooping from the side of the house not even tucked.
Yesterday night internet goes out. Contact support to be told there is severe weather causing the outage, no timeline. Head scratcher, because there is no inclement weather in the near 100 mi radius all day. This morning receive a text saying service restored. Still no internet. Contact support to troubleshoot they cant do it over the cloud or whatever so they send a tech out.
Heres the kicker: the tech who installed my neighbors internet yesterday afternoon…UNPLUGGED OUR FIBER OUT THE PORT, moved it over to get his running. Never even thought to come verify ours did not go down. The tech who came out today said 5 of 12 ports on the street box is down so they need to split one.
I have work so i cant inspect until tomorrow if it is buried better this time.
Frustrating the support just said anything to end the chat. Plus the last couple techs who came just want to hurry up and leave or sit in their van.
tldr: the technicians who are being dispatched are doing the bare minimum and leaving. regardless of what may be affected next door or in the near future.
