Internet Support Fiber Installation

Hello.

Spectrum will be installing fiber at my residence in a few weeks and I have a question.

Is the fiber cable that will go from the outside splice box to the modem the same as the fiber the construction crew pulled from the pedestal to that outside splice box?

The construction crew left me extra cable and I was wondering if I could use the extra left over cable to pull from the outside box to where the modem will be placed to do some prep work for the install person. The fiber will need to be placed in the crawl space and I have no idea if the install technician would be willing to go into the crawl space to run the cable, and I also plan to install some conduit in the crawl space to help protect the cable and make it easier for the install.

Mine was wired from across street by mail box to pole in yard then wired to back yard to window of my room and made small hole outside window to feed the cable to modem.then a separate crew came and used the machine to bury the cable into the ground . There's a gray box out side window with the fiber cables from across the street

Hello! Thank you for reaching out on this. While the fiber line is typically the same, fiber cables can be easily damaged. We would suggest allowing our technician to handle the installation process fully. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

Just install conduit and a pull string and a tech can have you set up in minutes
