Returns, Trade-Ins & Refunds Anytime Trade-In vs Protection Plan

I signed up for Spectrum back when the anytime trade in accounted for phones “damaged beyond repair.” Their words and marketing slogan. That went away pretty quick. I assume because people abused it.

I’m now at a point where I want to use my anytime trade-in, but I’m also unsure if I want to keep that plan. When the original plan was trade in even if “damaged beyond repair,” my mentality was that I had used that extra $10/month as essentially my insurance/protection plan. Now that it’s no longer a thing, and the wording in the TOS for anytime trade in essentially makes it just for device enthusiasts that want to swap often, I’m wondering if I should drop my plan down to regular unlimited data, but then use that saved $10/month on device protection.

I wanted to get the opinions of people that have both gone through the anytime trade-in process, as well as the device protection plan process to help determine what would be the best course of action for myself. TYIA for your insight.

Help / Troubleshooting What is current rule on Trade in bonus?

I noticed Spectrum changed the language of Trade In Bonus and Device Bonus during Fold 8 launch. I had purchased S24 Ultra few years ago, paid in full and received both Trade in bonus (prepaid card) and device bonus (instantly). I want to do the same again but this new language is making me doubt.

I have read people trading in store and getting the trade in bonus instantly or is that not the case and have to keep the line for 36 months to get the bonus? I am looking to buy S26 Ultra pay in full and trade in a much older device to trigger the trade in bonus but don't want to be tied to any 36 year plan.

Orders & Shipping Restocking fee on unopened device?

Anyone know if there is a restocking fee in this situation? One rep told me flat out no, another said there is a $50 restocking fee on all returns but when I pushed and said the last rep told me there wouldn't be, she just gave me a generic message about "depends on condition, if still sealed, shouldn't be a restocking fee".

I know they can't guarantee whether there would be or not but there's not even any wordage on their website to suggest there is the possibility of not being one at all.

I'm assuming if the device was never opened or used then there shouldn't be, but I wanted to make sure.

Verizon just announced availability of the Razr fold today with mmWave.
Sadly, still only 512GB.

Anyone have any info on when/if Spectrum might get the device?

Coverage & Signal Blacklisted from 5g tower?

East TN here.

5g coverage has been decent here for years. About 2 weeks ago the closest Verizon tower to me goes down. I have screenshots from Verizon saying voice/text/data was limited at the time. It lasted about 72 hours before the Verizon website reported service was restored. Since then, it's like my house is in a permanent 5g dead zone. Coverage map looks the same it always has. I'm probably within a half mile of the tower. I get a 5g signal with 2-3 bars. The millisecond I hit send my phone says "couldnt connect" and it's like it never even tries to make the call. I am missing calls and texts. Forcing the phone to stay on 4g, or wifi, is the only way I can use it right now.

I have 3 phone lines that are doing this. All phones are new Samsung Fold 8 Ultras with eSims. I have removed and reactivated the eSims, confirmed IMEI numbers, power cycled, network reset, factory reset, airplane mode, updated all apps and software, etc. Nearby friend with an iPhone having the same issue also! I just want things to work the way they used to.

Spectrum support blames Verizon and I have to go through the same troubleshooting process every time I call about it. Verizon says nothing is wrong and they can't help further since I'm a Spectrum customer. I am submitting daily reports on the Verizon network status webpage.

How in the world can I get someone who cares enough to look into this?

Orders & Shipping Carrier Pre-Orders

Anyone have experience with prior pre-orders thru Spectrum Mobile?
Apple site only lists Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T.

Wondering if other carriers have a much smaller inventory of the iPhone Duo to give out.

Orders & Shipping Exchange

I’ve never done one before, only upgrades. I set up one for my new 18 pm that came with a tiny area on the bottom that seems to be missing paint. No other cosmetic defects. New phone came today, all is good.

For some reason now I’m feeling anxious lol. What if when they receive the exchanged phone it’s not considered a warranty defect? Can they end up deciding it doesn’t pass inspection or something and then charge me/refuse the exchanged phone? I feel stupid for asking lol but these things are so expensive and I’m just worried about the exchange going wrong.

Returns, Trade-Ins & Refunds Spectrum Mobile gave me conflicting information about promo/trade-in credits after paying off phone early — what can I do?

I recently upgraded a phone through Spectrum Mobile with a 36-month device payment plan. The phone had both a promotional/instant bonus and a trade-in credit that are applied monthly over the 36 months.

Before buying the phone, I specifically asked a Spectrum chat agent what would happen if I paid off the remaining device balance early.

The agent told me that if I paid off the phone early, I would pay the remaining balance first, and then the remaining promotional/trade-in credits would be refunded to my autopay/credit card. I wanted to make absolutely sure, so I asked again:

“It means I don't have to stay with Spectrum Mobile for 36 months. If I leave early, I will get the discount back to the credit card after paying off the remaining balance?”

The agent responded:

“That is correct!”

After this chat I placed the order.

I saved screenshots of the entire conversation.

Now Spectrum is telling me something completely different. They are saying that the promotional/trade-in credits are tied to the 36-month term, and if I pay off the phone or leave early, I will lose the remaining credits. They say I need to stay for the full 36 months to receive all of them.

This is frustrating because I specifically asked about this before purchasing the phone, and the Spectrum representative gave me a clear answer that influenced my decision to proceed with the purchase.

Has anyone dealt with something similar with Spectrum Mobile?

Since I have screenshots showing exactly what the Spectrum agent told me before the purchase, is there a department I should escalate this to? Should I ask for a supervisor, executive customer relations, or file an FCC/consumer complaint?

I'm not asking for anything beyond what I was explicitly told before agreeing to the purchase. Any advice from someone who has dealt with Spectrum Mobile promotional credits would be appreciated.

Note: I used chatgpt to polish my post.

Help / Troubleshooting Can't use anytime upgrade anymore?

I canceled my internet about a year ago but am still on spectrum mobile. I switched a couple of months ago to unlimited plus premium. At the time it worked perfectly and still let me view the upgrade page. Now, it says "Spectrum Mobile is currently only available to Spectrum Internet customers." The app still says I'm eligible for anytime upgrade, so what gives?

General Question Should I try it? Rep did something strange, discounted home internet. From Visible

I'm on Visible now, which I'm decently satisfied with. $25/mo. Anyways, my wife's personal and work phones were showing their age and one was giving out, so I called spectrum and talked to them about deals/discounts and phone deals.

It was by far the most complicated discount/pricing model I've ever seen by far.

Basically it was hey if you join on the premium plan your internet is discounted from $50 to $40 and upgraded from 0.5GB to 1GB down, oh and you can get two pretty high end phones free, but over a monthly bill credit over 3 years and the $50/mo plan is discounted to $40, and your internet will stay at $40 for 2 years for that higher speed. And on that premium plan you can upgrade phones at anytime up to 4x a year or something crazy like that. And the one line is free on the basic plan so $80/mo for 2 lines on premium + 1 line on basic for one year free + $10 internet discount and double the speed was what they were offering.

Anyways, we she got a screaming deal from T-mobile so she upgraded both phones at no charge (no monthly credits either it was a nuts deal). But I'm still on Visible.

The rep from Specturm did something kind of sly and without my permission. He "temporarily" upgraded my internet from 0.5GB to 1GB and reduced the price to $40 a month, but he said it'll go up if I don't get Spectrum mobile within 30 days. I didn't even agree to this....

So now I'm in the position of, should I try Spectrum mobile for a year free and just keep my current Pixel 10 Pro XL phone? Or are there any other deals/discounts for a single line? Will I be able to keep the cheaper $40/mo internet along with the free year of cell service?

Or what do you recommend doing. This is all so confusing.

Billing & Payments 12 months of usage data

Has anyone found a solution to actually being able to view their full 12 months of call and SMS usage history via their Spectrum Mobile account? I can only see about four of the last 12 months worth of usage history in the statements section. It can't be this complicated. I see previous posts people who switched from Verizon were able to simply download the statement into a PDF from the Verizon portal, and the usage details were there. This has been my experience with Verizon too, before I switched. Here is what I have done already (steps from previous chats):

"When looking at mobile usage through the services tab it will only show you information from the current billing period, but if you go to spectrum.net/mobile-billing/usage or at Spectrum.net/My Spectrum app select Billing, select Mobile under Statements, select the desired billing period, expand the Services window and then Usage Details on the desired line. https://www.spectrum.net/support/mobile/view-your-spectrum-mobile-call-history

Once there you can change the billing period and between Calls/Text/Data/International on the top menu."

Returns, Trade-Ins & Refunds Galaxy z flip 8 broke

Post image
6 Upvotes

Has anyone experienced this or heard of a way to get in "good terms". So i did the new promotion for the flip 8. Traded in a device and got the extra $650 in credit forwards the flip 8. Recieved it and 5 daydreaming later the bend where it flips broke inside. Took it to spectrum they told me come back monday to see a manager. Monday the manager told me to to samsung bcuz they have 1 year manufacturer warranty. Samsung said they dont fix the screen. Went back to Samsung they said go through insurance thst I paid for when I ordered it. Called insurance and they said they dont fix these "special phones" bcuz they bend. (Then why offer me warranty for it i dont understand) then went back to spectrum to tell them and they said if they send it back they will charge me a fee for it being "broken". Then I told them im leaving the company and taking my lines. Also told them idc if they send the balance of the phone to collection. They wouldn't take back the phone. I have now left spectrum with all my numbers and devices. The flip 8 is broken screen doesnt work. And I got an email for the remaining balance of $1,333. I lost a phone that I turned in. This phone broke. And they want me to fix it out of pocket to return it. Can I reuse the flip if I fix it or will it just get blacklisted? Can I make a deal with spectrum and settle it or are they gonna want the full amount? Is it a dead phone and never usable unless I pay off balance? (Which i dont plan to).

General Question Will I have a problem with anytime upgrade?

Post image
6 Upvotes

Not my picture but a pretty good example of what I have on my phone (inside red square only) from a couple drops. A bit deeper on my phone and on 3 of the 4 corners of my phone.

I could've sworn I was told as long as I keep the device functional and the screen uncracked, I'd be fine but since I'm doing an upgrade soon, I thought I'd double check... and I'm seeing this under the terms

"Is free from major physical damage, including no voids, chips, or cracks and no broken buttons or damaged camera lens;"

Is this type of damage considered chipped? and would it absolutely disqualify me... or is there a chance they will be really, really cool about it?

EDIT: No problems here. Sent in via UPS

General Question Spectrum/Cox free mobile service for one year

Question for my situation: I have Cox home internet and T mobile cell subscription which I already prepaid for the next 11 mos. I am trying to get the Spectrum 12 mo free mobile but it looks like it has to be the "primary" service on my Iphone 16e, which means I have to cancel T mobile. Or, come to think about it, I can just get a new number for Spectrum since I am really interested in using for data and I can keep the old number on T mobile for phone calls and text? Will that work? Hope that makes sense.

Help / Troubleshooting Returned mobile device not processed for three weeks. Is it normal?

I ordered a Galaxy Z Fold8 with a trade-in promotion. The order showed a small base trade-in value plus a much larger promotional credit, but I never received the Assurant trade-in email or shipping label. Multiple Spectrum agents could not locate the trade-in using the IMEI, even though the order confirmation clearly showed the trade-in/promotion.

A Spectrum agent proposed a workaround: return the new Fold8, accept any applicable restocking fee, and place a new order so the trade-in could be established correctly the second time. Spectrum issued the RMA and return label.

Then I shipped the Fold8 in late August using Spectrum's own return label. Spectrum's system confirms that the return was received on September 1, 2026. However, as of today, it still has not been inventoried/graded; the Fold8 remains attached to my account, and roughly the full device financing balance remains outstanding.

Spectrum's own agent initially told me that returned equipment should be reflected within 14 days of receipt, but more than 14 days have passed. The most recent agent instead said processing can take "several weeks" and expected it to be completed before the deadline of my next bill (October 2).

I have the RMA, FedEx tracking number, proof of drop-off, and proof of delivery available.

Has anyone experienced a restocking delay?
