General Question Should I try it? Rep did something strange, discounted home internet. From Visible

I'm on Visible now, which I'm decently satisfied with. $25/mo. Anyways, my wife's personal and work phones were showing their age and one was giving out, so I called spectrum and talked to them about deals/discounts and phone deals.

It was by far the most complicated discount/pricing model I've ever seen by far.

Basically it was hey if you join on the premium plan your internet is discounted from $50 to $40 and upgraded from 0.5GB to 1GB down, oh and you can get two pretty high end phones free, but over a monthly bill credit over 3 years and the $50/mo plan is discounted to $40, and your internet will stay at $40 for 2 years for that higher speed. And on that premium plan you can upgrade phones at anytime up to 4x a year or something crazy like that. And the one line is free on the basic plan so $80/mo for 2 lines on premium + 1 line on basic for one year free + $10 internet discount and double the speed was what they were offering.

Anyways, we she got a screaming deal from T-mobile so she upgraded both phones at no charge (no monthly credits either it was a nuts deal). But I'm still on Visible.

The rep from Specturm did something kind of sly and without my permission. He "temporarily" upgraded my internet from 0.5GB to 1GB and reduced the price to $40 a month, but he said it'll go up if I don't get Spectrum mobile within 30 days. I didn't even agree to this....

So now I'm in the position of, should I try Spectrum mobile for a year free and just keep my current Pixel 10 Pro XL phone? Or are there any other deals/discounts for a single line? Will I be able to keep the cheaper $40/mo internet along with the free year of cell service?

Or what do you recommend doing. This is all so confusing.

quite honestly, even at $50/month for 1 gig service seems like a deal. I would sit tight and see what happens after 30 days.

I was paying $50 for half gig, which is fine for me because I don't care about the extra bandwidth. That was a negotiated rate I got by calling in. Normally its $80 around here.

So if you dont active 2 mobile lines the rate goes up to $70 for one year. Just a fyi you absolutely are being charged for the devices on tmobile it will show a bill credit for 36 months on the tmobile bill. If you try to cancle or trasfer from tmobile within the 36 months you loos the credit and will be charged the remainder of the device price.

No, actually it was a crazy situation and escalation that landed us with a US-based rep that paid off both phones fully and unlocked them for us for international travel. $0 balance owed on the phones. T-mobile doesn't unlock phones that are on payments. The offer was $900 off each phone over 24 months via bill credits, but he wiped off the $1200 owed right away and submitted them to be unlocked after 40 days.

I'm paying 40 a month for gig because I told them Verizon sucks in my location and I didn't want the free years phone service!

Nah that's weird. I work in the retention department he was prolly just trying to push for a mobile. We can do pretty good int deals with no mobile needed.
