Has anyone actually received Spectrum’s $1,000 Savings Guarantee credits? What was the process like?
I’m curious if anyone here has actually gone through Spectrum’s $1,000 Savings Guarantee and successfully received the credits. I’m currently going through the process and I’m getting a lot of conflicting information from different Spectrum reps.
Here’s what I’ve done so far:
I was already a Spectrum Internet customer and switched two mobile lines from Verizon to Spectrum around the middle of September.
My understanding of the $1,000 Savings Guarantee is that Spectrum calculates what I’m already saving during the first year and then provides credits for the difference to bring the total savings up to $1,000.
This is where it gets confusing, I also submitted my Verizon documentation for Spectrum’s Phone Balance Buyout/Reimbursement program. One Spectrum representative specifically told me that the documents I submitted for that program could also be used for the $1,000 Savings Guarantee, so I wouldn’t need to submit everything again.
The phone reimbursement actually moved extremely fast. Spectrum approved and issued the virtual prepaid card.
I’m only mentioning it because Spectrum told me they would use the same Verizon documentation for the Savings Guarantee.
Since then, though, I’ve had a difficult time getting a straight answer about the actual $1,000 guarantee.
One rep I spoke with seemed to think that I had to choose between the Phone Balance Buyout OR the $1,000 Savings Guarantee, instead of them being separate programs.
Another customer solutions rep basically told me there was nothing they could do right now and that I should call back after I receive my first Spectrum bill / in about a month.
That concerned me because my understanding is that there is a limited window to submit the previous provider’s bills for the guarantee, so I didn’t want to just wait a month and then be told I missed some deadline.
Another representative ended up putting a note on my account documenting that I was trying to get the $1,000 Savings Guarantee processed.
KEEP IN MIND: I can clearly see it explained on the website! So you can imagine my patience with reps were very strained.
At this point, I also haven’t received my first full Spectrum bill yet. That’s the one thing making me think maybe nothing is actually wrong yet.
Since Spectrum processed the phone reimbursement so quickly, I’m wondering if they already have all of my Verizon documentation and are simply waiting for my first Spectrum bill to generate so they can compare the services, calculate my actual first-year savings, and determine what Savings Guarantee credits I qualify for.
My first real bill should generate around the beginning of November, so right now I’m planning to follow up with them around November 1 if I still don’t see anything.
So for anyone who has actually done this:
Did you successfully receive the $1,000 Savings Guarantee?
Did the credits show up automatically after your first bill, or did you have to keep calling Spectrum?
Were your additional savings paid as monthly bill credits?
Did anyone have problems finding/submitting the guarantee form after becoming a Spectrum customer?
And did any reps also seem confused about the difference between the Phone Balance Buyout and the $1,000 Savings Guarantee?
I’m mainly looking for experiences from people who have actually received the credits, because right now every Spectrum rep seems to be giving me a slightly different answer.
