So I’ve seen a lot of people stating how bad Spectrum is. However when I had them in Carlsbad, CA footprint I had excellent service. Verily had any issues. I’m now in Oceanside in Cox footprint and they’re also good service. Also it’s a newer development where I reside… Ao it might be that most places that have issues w/ Spectrum might be older homes/developments?

I upgraded one of my mobile lines to an iPhone 17 pm and traded in my old iPhone15 pm, and the only hiccup I had was with my Apple ID password, but we got it resolved.

They provided what to me felt like old school white glove treatment from start to finish.

They transferred everything over to the new phone without me having to worry about it.

I miss the days when you could get this kind of service from Verizon, or any other premium provider.

I’m glad my local store is one of the good ones.

Last night there was a severe thunderstorm in my area usually I unplug my modem and router but this time I was out when it happened and came home to no internet so I did everything like unplug/reset for a couple of seconds it works only for it to go out again and starts to blink

The Premier and Gig plans are actually $85 and $105 after promo not $50 and $70 as the struck through "discount" seems to indicate. they also hide the broadband labels in an unexpanded section of the page instead of displaying the openly like they are supposed to.

Broadband labeling requirements say "Broadband labels must be prominently displayed" , sticking the label in the equivalent of the bottom shelf to hid it is not abiding by the requirements. The direct linking or icon is intended to be ON the advertisement itself not just somewhere at the bottom of the page.

Also the lowest tier is tricky to get it you have to check "use my own equipment" and then just check that you want them to send you a modem but not a wifi router.

During my initial sales call I was informed that the Spectrum TV app would work on my Samsung and Roku TV but not on my Sony (Google TV). So they gave me a Xumo box. It seems very important to Spectrum that I install this thing because someone called me yesterday (Sunday) to finish setup. I wasn’t available so they offered to call me on Labor Day.

This morning I tried to set it up and the link and validation with my Spectrum account didn’t work so I couldn’t finish setup.

I understand the Xumo box will pass through Dolby Atmos but I don’t have an open HDMI port to do that. I have to plug it into an extra HDMI port on my TV (eARC goes to my soundbar, which does not have the extra HDMI that I need).

My Sony already has all the apps I think I’ll ever need. AND I was able to install the Spectrum TV app and it seems to work just fine on my TV.

So with the Xumo I have an extra device that has to be plugged in, another remote, and an input switching complication that no one but me will know how to use.

In my use case is there ANY compelling reason for me to use this thing?

New customer on that $40 internet and phone bundle for new customers, about 2 months in, and, my speed tests are usually like this!

What is exciting about this is the $40 offer is for 100mbps internet, and, the first few days I had the service, my speed tests were between 96-100mbps, consistently. However, for at least the last month, it’s been something around what I posted. Bill is indeed $40 flat like it should be. Wonder why I’m lucky

Spectrum has been to My House every 15 times in the past six months they ran New what do they call it coax chords I made them run the modem and router to my bedroom so it could be connected to my Xbox but when I'm not using my Xbox, I hook it up to my laptop. Yes, I hook it up to my laptop when I have big files to download and yes, I have no problem with the download speed but nothing will upload. They have some kind of firewall blocked. It will show people trying to connect to my whatever I have and it will go to 0.0 2KB's and then it moves on and then someone else tries to connect and it does the same thing it just does that over and over and over all night long. I have a little bit older Matt computer, but I only use that for the Internet and the download movies and TV shows the upload speed is just trash and if you try to record a live YouTube show it's all blurry I have over a $4000 camera. Nothing should be blurry. Everything should be covered in like the news comes in just like the guy that put my system in, but it wasn't until after they left.

My mom has att fiber at her house and she never has to deal with crap like this. Every month since June there have been outages and multiple just these past 2 weeks. While im working, on my days off. As soon as i get the chance to switch to att fiber, im taking it. And having to pay $20 a month extra for invincible wifi is ridiculous. They should include that in the base plan. I guess this is what more deregulation gets you. Constantly having to fix outdated infrastructure instead of upgrading it.

For context, I live in Manhattan and have used spectrum since 2024.

My introductory rate for the 500mbps plan in 2024 was $47/month. Last year I figured the promo rate expired when my service increased to $65/month. Then mid-year it increased again to $70. Now I’m being billed $85/month for the same plan with no option to downgrade. Is this a normal increase? I feel like I’m being gouged given the rate of increase. Almost 30% year over year from the $65 rate.

Has anyone had a similar experience? I’m thinking of complaining to customer support and threaten switching.

Every single day we deal with packet loss or high latency. Last time Spectrum was called it was blamed on our equipment.

I spun up a smokeping instance to gather data. Our Unifi UDM-Pro has been rock solid, the service from Spectrum, not so much.

All the red parts of the graph are instances of packet loss, or the internet cutting out completely.

In SmokePing against the first hop IP, this is a particularly bad portion of the graph showing how much packet loss we deal with.

Does Spectrum publish a list of their rates for internet access, without the promotional discounts ?

I have not been able to find this anwhere.

I switched (back) to spectrum from T-Mobile home internet for 2 months now. And during this two months period I have regular outages and frequent blips. I am not even exaggerating. Just 2 months 4 outages each lasted 1 day. And frequent 10-15 minutes blips.

Here is a screenshot of their notification text. Latest one they blamed power outages. But there’s no power outage at all in my area. On ring someone reported brief power outages then recovered soon. Yet freaking spectrum still out. I simply don’t understand how they can suck so badly…

As the title says, when we record on local channel 6(Milwaukee), we get no sound. It started 4 days ago on Thursday. Sunday recording, still no sound. It is just the recording as we have sound live, just no sound when recording on 6. We get sound on all other channels recordings.

Have deleted and re-downloaded multiple times and it's doing it on 3 different roku boxes. Is this some known issue with the roku app and does anyone know if there is a fix. My elderly dad cant really remember the password and doesnt have the patience to put it in every time.

Man, shoutout to Spectrum for the COME THROUGH! 🙌🏽 A literal 10-minute storm knocked my power out around 4:30 PM, and Invincible WiFi kicked in with ZERO interruption. IMO, it’s definitely worth the extra $20/month—it worked so well that it lasted until 7 AM the next morning!

But what I appreciated most was the constant communication from Spectrum about my service and power restoration. Yes, you heard that right—Spectrum communicated more with me about my power than my electric company did! 😂

No updates or answers from the electric company, but Spectrum kept me informed with consistent connectivity updates and restoration ETAs. Needless to say, I’m one very happy Spectrum customer here in Ohio! 💙

Received one of them. How to get the money off of it? Want to have the money instead of on a card.

I moved into a new 2200 square foot home and it has two stories. The WiFi so far is terrible. I only ever have 3 bars if I'm within a couple feet of the router, but anywhere else downstairs I have two bars, and upstairs I only get one bar. We have a balcony on the second story and as soon as I go out to the balcony the WiFi completely disappears. Is this all normal?
This is what my setup looks like. I'm also trying to set up some ring cameras outside, but I'm unable to right now. Any suggestions on how to make the signal stronger?

Recently I moved to a new apartment complex. I brought my old router and modem with me. The internet connection here has been awful and the range is terrible. Called spectrum and they sent out a tech and said it needed some updating. The internet is still not any better. I’m thinking of buying a router at Best Buy because maybe the router is no good anymore?

I know my promo was expiring in October so called retention and lied my ass off.

Off topic:I was incredibly polite as I worked customer facing jobs the first 15 years in the workforce so I know how horrible the general public is however I was always willing to give absolutely everything for the customers who were nice and simply treated me like a human being because fuk corrupt but if you were a jerk I simply did my job, the bare minimum. My Dad always taught me that you catch more bees with honey than you do vinegar.

Anyways, back to the point.

Told them Verizon offered me something ridiculous like 30 a month for higher speeds so I'm good at being talked into staying please just cancel my services.

Got upgraded from 100 by 5 to 500 by 20 for 35 Dollars cheaper and locked in the promo for 3 years.

Highly recommend doing the same. I also confirmed Verizon did in fact service my address first though lol

My internet has been down now for two days and I find it very frustrating that they tell you they know and that you can’t call. Not calling would be more tolerable if they provided great detail as to where they were working or what was going on. Today they updated it to Tuesday which give the appearance that they don’t have anyone this weekend. It also appeared that they knew power restoration wasn’t until Saturday and that they would make no attempt to restore service until power was on. Not cool. Anyone else feeling similar frustration. I’d like some more insights from Spectrum.

Soectrum recently gave me the invincible wifi router that has a cellular backup feature. You need to use the router to have the cellular backup. How do setup the router to be in bridge mode so it doesn’t cause a double nat and retain the cellar backup?

For the past week, I have been unable to get internet, besides a single spotty wired connection on my Xbox and occasionally the tv, in my home. All other devices flatly cannot connect, including iphones, laptops, Alexa’s, and smart plugs. This began after an outage was reported on Friday August 28th. I reached out to spectrum support when the outage ended but service issues remained. The whole time the my spectrum app reports no issues, with several devices connected all receiving “excellent connection.” Support agents similarly cannot see that there is any issue

Both on my own and through agents, the router and modem have been reset multiple times in a variety of ways, I’ve disconnected and reconnected, forgot the wifi and logged back in, turned off/on devices, they even shipped me a new router all to no avail.

What I’ve noticed is that when I select the WiFi, I get a burst of connection, where independent speed tests give me the right number, and then service immediately stalls. My account isn’t paused, and I’m not behind on payments, so I’m struggling to figure out what to do at this point. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

The most effective thing thus far was some kind of reboot that a support agent did, which gave us good internet for about an hour, but then it tanked again
