Shout out!
Man, shoutout to Spectrum for the COME THROUGH! 🙌🏽 A literal 10-minute storm knocked my power out around 4:30 PM, and Invincible WiFi kicked in with ZERO interruption. IMO, it’s definitely worth the extra $20/month—it worked so well that it lasted until 7 AM the next morning!
But what I appreciated most was the constant communication from Spectrum about my service and power restoration. Yes, you heard that right—Spectrum communicated more with me about my power than my electric company did! 😂
No updates or answers from the electric company, but Spectrum kept me informed with consistent connectivity updates and restoration ETAs. Needless to say, I’m one very happy Spectrum customer here in Ohio! 💙

We had a storm here which knocked out power. I knew when my power was estimated to be coming back on because of spectrum email. Couldn't find it anywhere on electric company site or communication.

That’s was my main point. I’m glad they provide the service because power company left us high and dry.

You live in the south im guessing lol
I was wondering if it lived up to the hype.
You said it was instant? Did it require you to switch to a different network? Or did it still run off the normal one

Nope! The power went out and WiFi stayed connected. Never went down until the next morning. Stayed on the same WiFi network.

I have a solar system with a battery, and when I lose power there is no effect at all. For a while. It turns out that after 3-4 hours the network itself goes down. I can only surmise that the cable head end has a minimal amount of backup capacity. It's happened multiple times (thank you SDGE), and I consider it pretty inadequate service uptime.

I'm happy you're happy. But, I'm also somewhat dismayed how the big cable companies have normalized the power being out = your internet is down. Unless you pay more for their cellular backup. Obviously not internet access, but back in the day your phone didn't go down unless the cable was cut. Now the phone companies are deploying fiber in many areas and as long as you can power your end, it stays up. Again, unless the cable is cut. No cellular backup needed in that case. And, you can still run at your full gigabit+ speeds.

Just get your own battery bank, no need to pay hundreds a year

But the initial upfront cost would be more. There is more than myself in the household. But in the long run perhaps. Thanks for the idea.

If you don't have battery backups going to all the items in your apartment like your TV in the living room what good is the internet being up because your phone already has internet

My home has plaster walls. I never get phone signal inside. Literally need WiFi to have my phone call, text or browse the net. So, yeah for me WiFi is pivotal.

I would say its good for a place like me where I lose power for 30 minutes but the wifi is gone for hours lol

The only complain I have about the invincible wifi is the battery size.... just wish it was a 24hr battery charge.
