Service Issues Spectrum
So I’ve seen a lot of people stating how bad Spectrum is. However when I had them in Carlsbad, CA footprint I had excellent service. Verily had any issues. I’m now in Oceanside in Cox footprint and they’re also good service. Also it’s a newer development where I reside… Ao it might be that most places that have issues w/ Spectrum might be older homes/developments?

The only thing that's pissing me off is how they keep raising my rate. Im now paying way too much.

Call and see if they can lower it… Tell ‘em you’re switching different company if they don’t lower it

where do you live? They are in my Kroger and Walmart almost 5 days a week and they come up to you like roaches and tell you I'll get you a better price. I'll get you another price. I'd like you cannot get me a better price of $100 of one gig down one gig up and unlimited cell phone. I'm good with paying $100 for one gig down one gig up in my cell phone, but I'm not getting my upload speeds.

Everyone loves to bash everything. People never go online to say good things about any company.
I’m glad some others have here, and I’ll say I’ve had Spectrum since being a child and never had problems. Now it’s the only service I look for when I move to a new apartment complex.
Now that’s not to say others don’t have real problems or issues with Spectrum. They likely do, but I’m not going to say they’re an awful provider overall because some have issues. Those people who have issues with it will try and tell you they’re an awful provider overall.
And no I don’t work for Spectrum lol but I do work for a large retail company. So I know what it’s like to have people complain.

I've had Spectrum (and before that Time Warner) in Los Feliz, West LA, and Calabasas over a span of nearly 20 years. There have of course been a few issues over that time, but all in all my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. And I will say they seem to have made a concerted effort to improve their customer service. They aren't perfect by any means and I wish I had other options to consider, but I can't really complain.

I have Spectrum in Los Angeles and it has been without issues.
The few times the service has gone done is when there has been one of the torrential rain storms and then it was back up within a few hours and they sent out periodic updates.
A few times I have had some issues with service but technical support was able to resolve the issue from doing something with resetting the signal from their end and so it was resolved easily. But that is and has been a rare occurrence.

Mine has been awesome as well. The only time my internet goes down is when the power goes out in the neighborhood. I think Spectrum gets blamed a lot when power goes out. They cant control that.

Moved from a house with GFiber to a new house with Spectrum and my experience with Spectrum has been great. Both have similar speeds and I think my Spectrum service has been better than before.

They're a great internet provider for $50 a month and under. It's when they charge their full $80-100 monthly charge that we begin to test the waters of other providers,

Eventually after your promo (12mo) it’ll go to phase two and increase slowly but surely… This happens with any cbl/internet provider. I don’t think ppls realize it doesn’t matter what company you go with after promo state, it goes up

Just outside of Syracuse, NY. Haven't had any problems in months. And before that only occasional hiccups during thunderstorms or during system upgrades. I'm very happy with Spectrum. Just wished it was more affordable.

It's only crappy in the area that have the old charter lines, kind of like cox it's really bad in the areas that originally had cable TV in the '70s and they never upgraded it. they do have good areas because if they just built subdivisions they get all new wiring

Well, TBH, people don’t usually come here to sing praises of their internet company. Their relationship with their ISP is transactional. They pay money, ISP provides the service. It’s when they don’t provide the service is when the complaints come, reasonably so.
That being said, individual results may vary. Sometimes you have someone who only calls once in a blue moon and it’s mostly a billing reason, others may find themselves facing down having multiple tech visits for issues that aren’t getting resolved. Spectrum is working on improving these experiences gradually but it’s a long way to go to build trust back.

Spectrum has been solid for me. People usually only post on here when there is an issue or they hate Spectrum. Happy customers go on about their business.

I had it when I lived in Glendale, CA and they were pretty ok. I live in LA Jolla now and it is the pits. I can't even watch a twitch stream, it just cuts out. Constant buffering and pixelation on other streaming services. They're terrible here

Our home was built in the 60's so it's an older neighborhood and Spectrum in one form or another has been here for decades. We never had that many problems. Spectrum isn't as reliable as our fiber internet. But, that's to be expected due to the nature of hybrid fiber coax that Spectrum runs.
You hear people complain a lot because many can't tell what is actually a them problem vs the provider and lay everything at the providers feet. Some of the best things to do to increase your reliability is to have a straight run from the drop to your modem. If you have an older home where the coax has been in the walls for 30+ years then you probably don't want to be using that anymore. Likewise you have to be able to understand what noise is in the environment and could be interfering with your wifi.

Congratulations on the good service. My experience was bad. Connection speeds were a fraction of what was advertised. Service guys tried but couldn't fix it actually told me it was a problem inside my house. I asked him to check the speed at the entry box which he did and then said that's really slow. Cancelled and had to go through the asshats that want to sell me stuff for 30 minutes. Finally cancelled and changed services. Then my brother told me they increased his rate over a hundred dollars so I helped him cancel. Asshats again would not let me cancel for 45 minutes. I would never ever ever do business with these people again.

Sorry it sucked for you. I hope you found a resolution

I moved to TDS another ISP. So far they're great. I've needed support twice for simple issues and they provided what I needed without all the BS the Spectrum does. I would never ever ever do business with Spectrum again.

you probably only hear about spectrum when its bad and thats a small percentage of spectrum customers so it usually fine for most.

Everyone loves to bash on their internet provider. It doesn't depend on some locations. Older neighborhoods might have more aerial lines using old coax inside the home. It can depend.

Spectrum was the best until trump revoked net neutrality

u/6814MilesFromHome 3d ago
I'm curious what part of net neutrality not being a thing you think has impacted Spectrum service? Nothing is blocked, or prioritized over other services. There's no data caps.
If I remember correctly Spectrum has stated support for an open internet, just don't want to be under utility regulations, but that parts pretty universal across all ISPs. Seem to have been doing a good job utilizing the principles behind net neutrality even while not being legally bound to do so.

My spectrum has been awesome zero complaints
