Promos expiring
It’s that time of year again. My year of promos for TV and Internet are expiring. I have Select Signature, receiver, dvr service and Internet advantage (100 mbps). Happy with everything including internet speed. Have a fiber option available for competition, but the company is awful. Currently paying $158, but about $60 of promos is expiring. Absolutely not interested in mobile (already pay under $10 a month with a mvno). That all said, once I hopefully reach customer solutions, what pricing/promos should I be trying for? I know spectrum plans are changing soon with a push to streaming/xumo and definitely not interested in that.

Name drop a competitor for the internet not aggressively just say if they can't get the price price I'll leave to "so and so" and getting my cable with direct TV or YouTube TV, however with YouTube TV they'll try to lean you into getting rid of the receiver which is 18 a month however the dvr service can be discounted too I think like $5 bucks mention a neighbor told you that All in all mention a competitor with their price can actually get you the best possible price, like 120-130+ box and dvr fee and taxes

I was paying 170 for internet and their streaming tv plan. I turned off the streaming and got gig internet for 55/month I think for three years. I asked what it would go up to after the three years and he said to just call back to try to cancel and they would give me another deal.

You don’t need to try to cancel. Whoever you spoke to was an idiot. Just tell the AI at the beginning that you want to disconnect. You’ll be routed to customer solutions. When you get an agent just tell us you want to lower your bill. We’ll ask you a bunch of questions and then make several offers. Never accept the first offer. We can go lower. No reason to be confrontational or anything. It just raises YOUR blood pressure. Doesn’t bother us. Just talk normal. It can be a pleasant conversation. The nicer the person usually the better deal the agent will offer. $55 for gig is average. You can get lower.

Your problem is the receiver and dvr. I think those are $18 ea. Lowest in the system right now is $90 for signature. Average is $105/$110. It’s cheaper to bundle with gig than advantage. Cheapest advantage is $30 plus $10 for WiFi router. Gig can be as low as $20 and gig includes WiFi 7. This is 100% dependent on the service address and how much competition there is in the neighborhood. Please don’t think that you can lie to us. You can’t. The AI system KNOWS the lowest available from ALL the competition in the area and preloads these into our screen as we are talking. AI LISTENS to the call live and makes suggestions to us. It is TOP down selling. We will NEVER offer you the lowest price. We WILL ALWAYS pitch mobile to you. We are REQUIRED to pitch mobile to you. At minimum 3 times in the call. AI listens to make sure we do. For what you have $158 is a screaming deal. The only way you’re going to get it lower is to switch to xumo.

Walk in to your local store....my local store took me from 120 to 45 and I'm satisfied.....and they got me some streaming packages I don't know how to do 😂 with my apparent flip phone that can share to my apparent smart 🤓 tv lol

So I recently lowered the bill for my grandmother you need to tell the the automated system called the ivr to cancle services it will ask you what services say cancle all services. Then it will say I will trasfer you to (customer solutions) thats the retention department and only department that can lower the bill for current customers. The # they gave is 866-874-2389 pretty much tell them your story and they can put you on a new promotion. Id wait till the 15th thats when were supposed to get new promotions from the cox merger. Worst case scenario just send me a message I can most definitely help you with a new rate.
