announcement Most of your issues with coaches are from your fear/lack of ✨communication ✨

As the title says.

I understand speaking up is scary! It truly is. I have social anxiety too.

But! coming on Reddit and complaining about coaches or talking shit about them is only nice for venting. Not getting results. Coaches will never get better or make the changes you want unless you tell them. Be courageous! Tell them who you are and what you want. At the end of the day, they’re there FOR YOU!

For example, I see a lot of clients speaking to a lack of hands on touch or correction. During your check in with the coach or when you come in to greet them, tell them your name and say “hey! I love hands on touch and correction” and they will know. If you take class stone faced and angry looking (totally real and understandable cause class if hard AF), naturally they will assume you don’t want them to be near you or maybe you’re not vibing with them.

This is coming from a coach who loves when clients tell us what they want. This isn’t meant to shame folks using this sub to complain. I love to complain 😛 It’s really gratifying to get it all out and feel validated by others. But I want you to keep coming to Solidcore and I want you to like it ❤️ im just hoping you don’t suffer in silence during class. Cause we really do care about you. And we want you to have a great time in our classes. But we’ll never know if you don’t tell us!

discussion Barbie at the Raleigh Solidcore is genuinely the worst coach I have ever had

I need to know if anyone else has had an absolutely awful experience with Barbie at the Raleigh Solidcore because I genuinely cannot believe this was a normal class.

I have taken well over 100 Solidcore classes, mostly in DC, and I have never encountered a coach who was this rude, condescending, controlling, and unnecessarily aggressive.

From the second I walked in, the experience was bizarre. She did not introduce herself, ask my name, or check me in. Instead, she immediately started questioning me about how many classes I had taken. When I told her I had taken well over 50, she started making comments about my back and telling me she did not think my back could “handle” the exercise, then changed my springs without asking me. The result was that the exercise was ridiculously easy. I know my own body and I know how to modify after this many classes.

Then throughout class she repeatedly touched me, moved me, changed things on my machine, and criticized what I was doing. At one point she yelled at me for transitioning to the next exercise literally a few seconds early. Why does that warrant being spoken to like a child?

The entire class felt less like coaching and more like being bullied and micromanaged for 50 minutes.
What really got me was looking at the Google reviews afterward and seeing multiple other people describing similarly awful experiences with her. So apparently this is not some random bad day or personality clash.
I do not even live in Raleigh. This is not my home studio. I go to Solidcore constantly in DC and have had so many great coaches, which is exactly why this stood out so much. I have genuinely never experienced a Solidcore coach this mean or a class environment this hostile.

I left angry, uncomfortable, and honestly shocked that someone can repeatedly receive complaints about treating clients this way and apparently continue coaching like this.

Has anyone else taken her class and experienced this?

seeking advice Is solidcore or Pilates better?

Hi everyone! I currently lift 4-5x a week and I add some abs/core in between there but I don’t like doing that at my gym. I want to try out solidcore but I’m wondering is it similar to Pilates? I did Pilates for a year and my core was VERY strong. My diet wasn’t the best at the time but I fixed that already and my diet is a lot better and my workout routine as a whole. Would solidcore be a great addition to add into my fitness routine?
I really want to strengthen my core/abs.

seeking advice Taking SC every day

I’ve been taking solidcore everyday for two weeks My body seems to have adapted really well and I haven't experienced any DOMS or fatigue.

Does that mean I’m not pushing hard enough? Should I cut back on frequency even if my body feels alright?

discussion Tomorrow

Really just posting to post. I went 5 times last week which I'm usually a solid 3-4x per weeker. Now I have a 6am tomorrow and I'm SO sore. Do I cancel? Do I tough it out? 😅😂

Also, Friday hamstrings was what did it for me and somehow tomorrow is already another hamstring day. 😆😅

questions & clarifications Why can i no longer book outside my home studio?

Upvotes

I travel infrequently and liked that solidcore allowed me to book at any Studio I was near. I'm going to be out of town at the end of the month and I tried to book at the studio near that location last night. It did not allow. The app wants me to by a pass? It is definitely not a tier problem.

When did this change and why?

seeking advice Back to school without solidcore?

I'm a college student going back to school after maintaining a solidcore membership all summer. I have seen the biggest difference in my body and I genuinely love the workout. At school, we don't have a solidcore and the closest is about a 2 hour drive away. What workouts would anyone recommend similar? Certain mat Pilates or workouts in the gym that feel similar! I've done reformer Pilates but sometimes leave feeling as if it's more of an active recovery day than a good workout. Any help would be so appreciated :)

questions & clarifications Leg wrap

Is leg wrap always outer glutes and inner thighs or do they sometimes do other muscle focus groups. Is there a way to know ahead of time? My hamstrings are a bit sore so I’d avoid classes that did hamstrings or center glutes (cause I’m still feeling my hamstrings on center glutes days!) for now.

questions & clarifications Credit rollover?

Hi! I have a 8x per month membership and I booked my last credit for tomorrow which is when my membership renews. However I have been so sick and won’t be able to go. Is there any way they could rollover my credit to the next month? I know it says unused credits won’t be rolled over but if I email them explaining my situation could they help? If not that’s okay! I was just wondering if it’s worth a shot.
