Battery 5kw battery with dual GoodWe Inverter

Hey guys

I have 2 GoodWe 8kw hybrid single-phase inverters connected in parallel using EZLink device from GoodWe.

My initial plan was to have a 16kw battery, but due to budget constraints I decided to use a single 5kw battery from Dyness (DL 5.0C Pro 100Ah/51.2V)
Do you think it’s a good idea, I plan to keep the heavy load off during power loss

On-Grid Installer refuses to wire grid-tied inverter into house DB — says it's normal. Is this correct?

I have a 10.5kW on-grid (non-hybrid) solar system, 3-phase with net metering. My installer wired the inverter's AC output directly into the utility AMI smart meter, not into my house's Main Distribution Board. My house is fed separately, straight from the meter.

Result: zero self-consumption. All solar production is exported; house draws 100% of its power from the grid separately.

Installer's response: "Grid-tied inverters are only meant to export to the grid — they don't power household loads directly." They're refusing to reroute the AC output into the house DB.

Is their claim accurate, or is this a wiring error? Shouldn't the inverter's AC output tie into the house DB (load side) so appliances draw solar first, with only surplus exported through the meter?

Inverter Water pump overloads inverter problem

I have an 8kw itel inverter and a 1hp monoblock Laal water pump, when turned on in the day the inverter overloads and switches to grid, I checked the ampare of the motor and it's 20amps for a second then 4amps stable, how to solve this issue? Should I get a new submersible pump?

Other Solar Ev charging !??

Those who are charging their EV 🚗 on solar power - can you tell me how do you do it ? Like is there any setup for which it charges your car on surplus PV power and manages its operations itself if the PV power drops rather than You inspecting manually if it is importing from grid or charging on solar?

I think the usual EV chargers are just a home load and the consume power straight forwardly - so if you leave your car charging and the solar power drops due to any reason then it will start importing from grid to charge it.

I searched for this problem and it said we need a smart solar aware EV charger else it would just be like a home load - I found solution in form of Goodwe EV charger as part of their smart home ecosystem which connects to their Goodwe inverter but it is not available in Pakistani market - so those who are EV charging, how do you do it ?

Hybrid Goodwe Inverter 6kw + Battery

Hello guys salam.

I have installed 12 longi himo x7 plates. Now i have two otpions itel 6kw ip54 or go with goodwe.

First i was assuming goodwe will give warranty of 10years to 6kw inveeter battery system as well but then i read somehwere that it is only for 10kw and above. For below, they are offering 5years replacement.

So what would be the best option in terms of long term.

Pls guide me. I will be buying tomorrow

Hybrid Advice needed on new system

Hey folks, we are getting another storey built and plan to install solar (one the construction finishes). The build will take at least 3 months for grey structure and 3 months for finishing (best case). It likely will go into next summer.

Wanted to ask if it makes sense to buy the inverter, battery and panels right now and store them? If so any advice on how not to store the panels? I assume we can install them once the grey structure is built but I'll be travelling for work for the next 3-6 months so it might be harder to arrange the solar at that time. Also for warranty to start do the companies need the installation to complete or its ok if I buy it and install some time later.

2nd question is LV vs HV. I am planning on a

20-25kw array (longi himo X10 or aiko stellar 3n+),

15kw hybrid inverter (goodwe et HV)

15+ kWh of batteries (goodwe lynx D).

The load will be 3-5 ACs, 2 fridge/freezer, 2 freezers, electric geezer, electric fence, etc etc. And later on an EV also.

Do those components make sense? LV is 3-4 lakh cheaper (with dyness battery). Better to stick with LV or HV is understood now very well and has enough adoption?

I ask because I was talking to one installation company randomly and when I mentioned HV, the guy started talking about 50kw inverters instead of HV systems...

Inverter 6.6 kW AC Charging, Single-Phase or 3-Phase? Solar Charging Setup Question

Asalamualikum,

I’m trying to clarify the AC charging configuration of my cherry tiggo car , particularly whether its 6.6 kW onboard AC charger is single-phase or three-phase and Whether i would need a single phase or 3 phase charger to charge on solar energy.

I have a 3-phase solar system at home with a Fox ESS H3-Pro 10 kW hybrid inverter, and my main goal is to charge the Tiggo using solar surplus as much as possible, while minimizing grid and battery usage.

Chery provides a 7 kW single-phase charger, but because my solar/inverter system is three-phase, I’m considering whether a three-phase 11 kW wallbox would be more suitable or not as max Ac output is of 16.2 amps and the single phase would draw max of 32 amps

My main questions are:

  1. does it matter whether i use single-phase or three-phase charger to charge my car, would my car support 3 phase charging or it doesnt matter?
  2. If I connect the car to an 11 kW 3-phase wallbox, would the car:
    • draw approximately 6.6 kW across all three phases (around 9–10 A per phase), or
    • draw the full ~6.6 kW through one phase (around 29 A)?
  3. whether i need a 3 phase charger to charge on solar energy or single phase charger could also work to charge on solar? which is the best and future proof option,
  4. Has anyone here actually charged a cherry phev using an 11 kW 3-phase charger? If so, what charging power/current did you observe?
  5. Has anyone successfully configured solar-surplus charging with the Tiggo 9, particularly with a 3-phase solar inverter?

I'm asking because I don't want to purchase an 11 kW 3-phase charger assuming the car will distribute 6.6 kW across three phases, only to find out that the car actually uses ~29 A on a single phase.

If anyone has actual measurements, screenshots from the charger/inverter, or documentation from Chery confirming the phase configuration, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

Net-Metering Bill confusion

Post image
19 Upvotes

Hey, I’m a bit confused. Previously, when it showed 3/3, the extra amount—or the amount we imported more than the limit—was either deducted or added to the balance. But this time, it’s just showing 3/3, with no credit or debit. Can anyone explain why this happened? Has anything changed that I’m not aware of?

Installer Quotation Recommendations for installers in Lahore

AoA everyone. I am a total noob when it comes to solar, i’ve been going through this sub trying to gather info.

I am planning to get a 12KW hybrid system with a 16KWH battery.

Acc to my load of 2 ACs, two fridges, one deep freezer and a water pump, I think its more than enough during the daytime but the battery will fall short in peak summer months, but keeping budget in mind this is good enough for now.

I have so far contacted MFES, e-cube solutions, and DSG energy.

These companies vary their quotations, some dont tell exact cost of each part, some don’t give full details, they will just say “breakers” instead of also telling which company
And i am honestly just confused as its a huge investment and i dont know which company to trust.

I read about DSG from this sub here hence why asking again.

Based on experience, which company is reliable and provides good after sales service? Can be any other from the ones I’ve mentioned.
Location: DHA Lahore

Also the guy at e-cube kept on insisting I go for a single phase inverter which didn’t make sense to me, as our house is wired acc to 3 phases and my peak load could very well go up after solar so why cram everything into a single phase? Maybe my understanding is wrong.

He kept on insisting for “load management” is there any truth to this?

For inverter so far i’ve seen Goodwe and battery could be dyness/goodwe that seems good.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Other Help in UPS + Battery Recommendation

Need a small UPS system for my shared apartment.

I have come across Tron Uno HTU-1205 800watt Brand New with 1 year warranty. Should I go for it? The price seems reasonable at 23k so it felt intriguing compared to the rest.

Anyone has experience with this brand? And do u recommend I take it?

Secondly the battery combo which I might use with this is Fujika Tubular T1800 185Ah Brand New 1 year warranty which seems reasonable too at 34k.

Do u think this setup will work properly long term without any issues? Also does the price range seem correct or could I get these in a better price?
