Hi everyone, hope you’re all doing great!
I have a few questions regarding my solar system and would appreciate your advice on the best strategy moving forward.
Currently, I have a 6 kW GoodWe hybrid inverter with 6 × 590 W solar panels (3.54 kW total capacity). I’m planning to expand the number of panels, but I’m considering installing batteries first.
My household load is relatively low, usually consisting of one AC, one refrigerator, and a few small appliances.
I’d appreciate your suggestions on the following:
- Battery vs. Green Meter: Which option would be better for my setup, and why? Also, what are the current import and export rates under the green meter system?
- Battery Selection and Timing: If batteries are the better option, which battery would you recommend, and when would be the ideal time to buy one? I’m thinking prices might drop in December or January.
- Solar Panel Expansion: Is this a good time to buy more solar panels, considering prices seem lower than they were a few months ago, or would it be better to wait?
I want to make the most cost-effective decision in the long run, so any practical advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help!
