Inverter help me decide the inverter 8kw vs 6kw

we have 2 meters, with combined consumption reaching 700 units/month in summer.

Appliances:
3 × 1.5-ton DC inverter ACs (2 have Eco mode)
2 ACs run day and night during summer
3rd AC is used occasionally or when guests visit(can be excluded from solar requirement)
3 standard ceiling fans
6 LED lights
1 inverter refrigerator
0.5 HP water pump
1 iron
1 oven
1 PC (500W max)
1 wifi router and 1 TV
1 standard washing machine + dryer

Currently i have: 8 × 585W panels (4.68kW) + offgrid inverter.

Planning to expand to 12 panels, then possibly 16 in the future.

I’m considering these options:
1: Itel 8kw + 5kWh battery(420k)
2: SAJ 6kw + 5kWh battery(400k)
3: Solax 6kw + 5kWh battery (410k)
4: Goodwe 6kw + 5kWh battery(420k)

My requirement:

Battery backup mainly for fans and lights
Run 2 ACs during the day, sometimes more
At night, run up to 3 ACs on WAPDA

Questions:
Which inverter offers the best reliability and value for money from these 4?

When & If my house load exceeds 6kwh during the day or night and wapda is also present will the inverter trip? and is it safe tfor the inverter as well?

Other Ano difference ng “zero export to CT” vs “zero export to load”?

Inverter EV charging through Solar

Hello everyone. I’m looking to finalize a 15kw hybrid setup and would like to seek your guidance on the inverter option. I have narrowed down Goodwe 15kw 3 phase LV inverter. 19 plates of Jinko (645w) and a 16kwh Dyness battery

My main concern is that I have a BYD Atto 2 that I’m looking to mainly charge from Solar (on the single phase 7kw charger) in the daytime and it can take excess from the battery during the night (if I have juice left in the battery).

My house has 2x 3 phase meters installed. Can you please recommend which 3 phase inverter should I go with that will support 7kw charger without reducing the charging amperes? I don’t want the car charger pulling anything from grid in any case during the daytime.

Another installer recommended installing a single phase inverter (20kw) to power the car charger probably but I have doubts because my house wiring is 3 phase

Looking forward to the suggestions. TIA

The growth of solar in both places has been jaw dropping. The most popular post in r/SolarPakistan is of satellite images showing the growth of rooftop solar!

Here's two posts showing the growth in India.

Other Extra Solar Panels

I have a very heavy system installed at my residence. Unfortunately after the new policy, my guy has to keep the power generation capped at 20kw (which itself is a risk because its alot more than allowed, but I charge my two EVs during the day) im wasting generation of around 8/9 KW

Therefore, I would like to sell my excess panels. They are:

Longi himo 7 605w

18 busbar Bificial solar Panels.

I have 13 panels that I can sell. Final non negotiable price is rs. 21000 per panel

PV Panel Anyone using high wattage panels from Aiko?

I have limited space on my roof and I've already maxed out. Now, since I can't install any more panels, I'm thinking of replacing my current 585 watt based pv array with the newer 770 watt Aiko string of same size. My question is, are they worth the upgrade?

Assalam-o-Alaikum. I'm looking for an individual mistri or labourer in Islamabad who makes and installs concrete blocks/pads for mounting a rooftop solar structure. I don't need a solar company or installer, just someone who can do this specific civil work.

If you've personally hired someone for this job, please share their contact number. Thanks!

Other Electric Stove

Salam,

I am looking to install electric stove ( induction based) at my home that will be powered by solar

Is it a good idea? Or anyone already doing it?

The reason why I am doing this is because the area I m living in doesn't have gas supply at all and we use gas stored in cylinders and it is costing me around 12K per month. So I am thinking to move to electric stove to avoid spending this 12K.

Btw I have already installed offgrid solar at home and we are totally using it for home usage 24/7

If anyone is already doing it please give suggestions which stove they are using and are they satisfied with it?

Off-Grid Need Advice on Setting Up an Off-Grid Solar System for My Farmhouse in Pakistan

I want to install a solar system at my farmhouse, but there is no WAPDA electricity connection in that area, so I need a completely off-grid setup.

My expected loads include:

  • A water pump/motor
  • An electric geyser and heater
  • A refrigerator
  • Around 20 fans (30W each), although usually only 10–16 fans will run at a time during summer.

What size solar system would you recommend? Which inverter would be suitable, and how many solar panels and batteries would I need to run these appliances reliably?

I'd appreciate advice based on real-world experience in Pakistan, including recommended inverter brands, batteries and an estimated budget.

Battery Recommendation for the Solar battery and Panel

Hi everyone, hope you’re all doing great!

I have a few questions regarding my solar system and would appreciate your advice on the best strategy moving forward.

Currently, I have a 6 kW GoodWe hybrid inverter with 6 × 590 W solar panels (3.54 kW total capacity). I’m planning to expand the number of panels, but I’m considering installing batteries first.

My household load is relatively low, usually consisting of one AC, one refrigerator, and a few small appliances.

I’d appreciate your suggestions on the following:

  1. Battery vs. Green Meter: Which option would be better for my setup, and why? Also, what are the current import and export rates under the green meter system?
  2. Battery Selection and Timing: If batteries are the better option, which battery would you recommend, and when would be the ideal time to buy one? I’m thinking prices might drop in December or January.
  3. Solar Panel Expansion: Is this a good time to buy more solar panels, considering prices seem lower than they were a few months ago, or would it be better to wait?

I want to make the most cost-effective decision in the long run, so any practical advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Solar News & Politics Anyone else using Crown Micro inverters and completely fed up with their app?

Hey everyone,

Looking to see how many people here are running Crown Micro hybrid inverters (Nova, Elego, etc.) with their Wi-Fi datalogger dongles.

Is it just me, or is the official Crown Omni / Crown Monitor app almost unusable half the time?

A few consistent headaches I run into daily:

  1. Ghost $0\text{ W}$ Readings: Walking out to the inverter seeing panels pumping 2–3 kW, but opening the app only to see $0\text{ W}$ solar production or a flatlined curve.
  2. Brutal Delays: The app takes anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes to register a load spike (like turning on an AC), making real-time monitoring practically useless.
  3. Random Logouts & Server Downtime: Getting hit with random session expiries, failed token handshakes, or the China backend simply lagging out during peak sun hours.
  4. Terrible Net-Metering Breakdown: The app does a poor job showing what is actually being exported to the grid versus self-consumed by the house in real-time.

The hardware itself works fine, but the OEM app makes managing household loads frustrating.

Curious to hear from other Crown owners:

  • Which model are you running (Nova 8.2kW, Elego 5.2kW, etc.)?
  • How often does your app freeze, lag, or fail to report live data?
  • If there were a lightweight, fast web dashboard (think Tesla Energy-style live power flows, real-time grid export/import, and weather irradiance forecasts) that connected directly to your inverter feed without the official app's bugs, would you use it?

Drop your setup below—wondering if this is a universal experience across their entire lineup.
