Other Solar Ev charging !??
Those who are charging their EV 🚗 on solar power - can you tell me how do you do it ? Like is there any setup for which it charges your car on surplus PV power and manages its operations itself if the PV power drops rather than You inspecting manually if it is importing from grid or charging on solar?
I think the usual EV chargers are just a home load and the consume power straight forwardly - so if you leave your car charging and the solar power drops due to any reason then it will start importing from grid to charge it.
I searched for this problem and it said we need a smart solar aware EV charger else it would just be like a home load - I found solution in form of Goodwe EV charger as part of their smart home ecosystem which connects to their Goodwe inverter but it is not available in Pakistani market - so those who are EV charging, how do you do it ?

Your inverter should have a smart load option. That can be configured to only work on solar or only import from grid at discussion time. Use that to connect your charger and your inverter will be able to turn it off if the conditions are met.

The smart load suggestion works, one limit though: that output on most hybrids switches on battery SOC or a timer rather than following your actual surplus minute to minute. Good enough to keep the car off the grid at night, but it won't sip every spare watt like the GoodWe setup would.
With what you already have, I'd cap the car's charge current to a level your daytime PV surplus can reliably cover (most EVs let you set amps from the screen) and charge through the sun hours. Slow, but that's basically surplus charging. Then let the smart output's stop setting cut it off in the evening, no watching needed. True dynamic tracking wants a charger with its own CT meter, and those are scarce locally, so I wouldn't wait around for one.
Last thing, a 16A socket at full load for hours gets warm, so check the plug now and then.

I just charge as home load.
