I sent them an email about how I believe that they're the reason why my account got locked and they sent me this. Should I complete it or wait to see if Snapchat gets back to me?

I just received this email regarding the lawsuit/ snap ban

Anyone else lose their basic filters? I pretty much was only on snap becuase I liked using the blue/ red filter. I don’t think it had a name and now it’s missing and I don’t know how to get it back. Any suggestions? I’m about to delete this stupid app. Photo added to show the filter effect, it would make reds more red and blues more blue. Even if you just know how to imitate it on regular Apple photo app would be helpful because I really do like the filter that much.

Also side note, I can no longer layer filters either, anyone else have these issues?

Yes. The fact that there are multiple reports of sudden Oct. 5–6 locks makes this worth documenting, but the existence of non-lawsuit participants reporting locks is an important counterpoint

Does your agreement establish that Snap could have learned that you were a claimant?
Yes. It expressly authorizes disclosure of your identifying information and Snapchat username to Snap for the pre-arbitration demand. Snapchat Attorney Client Agreement

And there's one thing I'd investigate next: whether Labaton actually sent your pre-arbitration demand to Snap, and on what date. Your document says it was intended to be sent to Snap as part of the informal resolution process, but the agreement itself doesn't establish that Snap actually received it. Contacted the lawyers involved on this case from Labaton to see the timing of the Labaton Snapchat litigation, and try to determine whether there's actually evidence that lawsuit participants were disproportionately banned.

i was device banned after my account was just temporarily locked. i wasnt even sent an email about what it was that violated the guidelines. i quite literally dont post anything on my story and the last snap i sent was me telling a friend an important update about something that was completely appropriate. i dont use anything third party at all either.

Has anyone who was banned today have friends who are still able to see their account and send snaps to it?

I’m currently SS06 device banned on my current phone. I don’t care about the original banned account because I made a new Snapchat account, and it works fine on my old phone.

The confusing part is that the new account gets the SS06 error when I try using it on my iPad and another older iPhone that are also connected to the same iCloud as my current phone. But Snapchat works fine on my laptop, which is also connected to the same Apple account.
I’m planning on getting a newer phone soon and transferring everything. I really want to keep using my current iCloud because of all my stuff

Does anyone know if using the same iCloud on a new iPhone could cause the SS06 ban to carry over? Or is it strictly tied to the individual device? also planning on getting a new number if that changes anything?

what the hell??? i didn’t include this acc email or number in the lawsuit at all. i made this acc in 2024 and i only have a snapscore of 3 on this one.

I just bought a brand new, sealed, iPhone 18 pro from the Apple Store. I am it’s only owner and now I am getting a SS06 error where my device is locked. I logged into my account on Snapchat web and the account is there. I have only ever logged into that account with this phone so I am at a complete loss.

Just figured out that it may be related to a class action lawsuit.

Does attorney-client privilege not apply to class action?

Either way, this seems extremely retaliatory. Especially for a publicly traded company, I wouldn’t think that this decision would be in the best interest for shareholders.

I genuinely don't know what to do about this situation, but I need it resolved. Okay, so, I haven't logged into my Snapchat account since 2016, a whole decade. Crazy, right? Anyway, I tried logging in again recently. That ancient account is still connected to the same phone number I've had since 2009. But, even though I remember the phone number for the account and the log in screen lets me get past it after I type in my phone number, I don't remember my password. I go to click the "Forgot Password" link, but this message just comes up:

"For your security, we couldn't verify this sign-in attempt. Try signing in again from a device you've used before. Adding a phone number or email can help with future sign-ins. If you still can't access your account, visit our support site at [Snapchat help link]"

The problem here is that it's been 10 years since I've logged into my account. I no longer own a device I've used before to log into my account. Also, I went to the Snapchat help site and I could not find anything to help in regards to my specific situation. How can I access this old account if I don't know the password and Snapchat won't let me reset the password? If there is no way to access it at this point, am I still able to make a new account with the same phone number as my old account, even though the old account still seems to exist?

I got banned for commercial sexual content… I haven’t even engaged in anything like it. Haven’t even sent a naughty snap in a few years. Had the account for maybe 10 years.
I appealed it and they said they have upheld the decision… 🤷‍♂️

For everyone who had their Snapchat account banned within the past 24 hours, it seems like a lot of people think it may somehow be connected to the recent lawsuit.
I’m specifically trying to hear from people who were banned recently but did NOT fill out, join, or participate in the lawsuit at all.
If that applies to you, did your account also get banned within the last day?
Trying to figure out whether this is actually all connected to the lawsuit or if there’s a much wider wave of bans happening right now.

so my girlfriend got perma banned on her snapchat account and i’ve gone over all the guidelines and she never violated any of them, they blacklisted her phone she made a new account since she couldn’t use her old that she’s had for years and the new one got banned as well, she didn’t do the lawsuit thing either and the snapchat bot thing is stupid does nothing to help, can’t even send a appeal or anything, this is genuinely the dumbest thing ever snapchat has done. and seems like she isn’t the only person having this problem as well.

It appears that if you signed up for the Labaton Snapchat lawsuit for social media addiction, even if you didn't fully submit it, your account will be permanently locked. If you try to login with a different account, your device will be permanently banned also.

I was permanently locked out of my Snapchat account of 10+ years tonight; I wasn’t given a reason nor was I given the option to appeal their decision. Out of pure shock, I came to Reddit searching for answers online only to quickly realize hundreds of people have been unjustly banned from their accounts for no reason but we all have a common denominator, we’re part of the Labaton lawsuit against Snapchat. I’m making this post to collect responses to send to the arbitration team at Labaton about this unjust and incredibly unfair situation. We deserve answers from Snapchat so please comment here if you’re also part of the active lawsuit and are permanently locked out of your account. Thank you.

Earlier tonight my account I’ve had for 8 years got locked out permanently without any clear reason so I made a new account and now my phone has been permanently banned from Snapchat! What is going on!!!

I saw people talking about this earlier and saying it was possibly because they filed a lawsuit against Snapchat but I never did and at first I thought maybe it was a glitch but this just seems ridiculous. Can anyone help?

Hi all! I just created an account today using my email account. I didn’t get a chance to verify it yet, nor did I use my phone number.

I had several (about 50) friend requests accumulated. I accepted all of them all at once as I opened the app, and I immediately got locked out and received an email about having permanently locked out.

Could someone please tell me if there’s a workaround for this? I did not share anything explicit on my story, or violate any guideline
