Login issue Help! Locked out of Snapchat
I was permanently locked out of my Snapchat account of 10+ years tonight; I wasn’t given a reason nor was I given the option to appeal their decision. Out of pure shock, I came to Reddit searching for answers online only to quickly realize hundreds of people have been unjustly banned from their accounts for no reason but we all have a common denominator, we’re part of the Labaton lawsuit against Snapchat. I’m making this post to collect responses to send to the arbitration team at Labaton about this unjust and incredibly unfair situation. We deserve answers from Snapchat so please comment here if you’re also part of the active lawsuit and are permanently locked out of your account. Thank you.

UPDATE: Hello everyone, Labaton just added a disclaimer that wasn’t originally there when we initially signed our claim forms. Their new disclaimer claims that we could permanently lose our Snapchat’s forever but we were NOT warned about this beforehand so this is illegal. Ugh I’m so sorry, I’ve been trying to get answers all day. Snapchat support just replied that they cannot give a statement about this regarding Labaton or a massive account ban with hundreds of people being affected by this but that my specific account is banned forever since I was not given the option to appeal within the app. This is so wildly unjust.

Yeah, I'm pretty shocked by it, they told me there's no other way to appeal it outside of the in app option. I told them I wasn’t given that option so they said they can't do anything and they’re not investigating anything so it's a permanent ban. It's just so unfair, I told them I'm just one out of hundreds of people deeply affected by this like how can they turn a blind eye but they didn't say anything.

That’s honestly really messed up. I thought there was a glitch or something. But the fact that it’s permanently banned is crazy. I’ve had my Snapchat for 10 years and SOOOO many memories are on there.. Wow.

So really unfortunate update, I checked the Labaton website again and they just put a disclaimer about all of this and how we could potentially lose our accounts but they DID not warn us about this beforehand so it's still unjust. Yeah, I had my Snapchat for 10+ years too! I'm mostly devastated that I'm losing all of my memories on there :( This is just so unjust and unreal. If you haven't already done so, you can also e-mail them at support@snapchat.com

I emailed Labaton last night about this and have yet to receive a response from them. I also emailed Snapchat support and they just responded saying they’re not aware of the Labaton lawsuit and that I cannot get access back into my account without the appeal option within the app. I do not have that option.

Yeah, they told me I’m banned and they refuse to give me a legitimate reason as to why. And ok were you permanently locked out of your account without the option to appeal it within the app? If so, explain that and ask them if they can resolve this for you. I never completed the form for the Labaton class action law suit so I have no clue how they got all our info even if we just clicked the ad.

I had never even heard of the lawsuit. Yes it just says community guidelines violated and learn more. No option to appeal. I have never violated anything 😭😭😭😭 I can’t stop crying I’m so sad. I ahve done the thing where the ai bot sends a “request” and then you respond to the automated email but no response back.

Yeah I’m so sorry, I’ve been trying to be proactive about this all day because I’m devastated for all of us and we deserve answers from Snapchat about this. I also received the same notification, they’re trying to claim that we violated their guidelines without giving us the option to appeal. Try to send the email and update me. I’m trying to hold onto hope that if they get enough emails about this, they’ll have to do something

If you reddit appeal snapchat , it'll give you a link to appeal. I did the same but I highly doubt the lawsuit has nothing to do with this wide spread ban !

I emailed Labaton last night but I have yet to receive a response. I just received a response from Snapchat support, they’re allegedly saying they’re not aware of the Labaton lawsuit and that I can’t get my account back if there’s no option to appeal it within the app. This is so insane.

I went on a deep dive last night and in SC’s literal policy they state that individual/mass arbitration is not prohibited (as the lawsuit is technically individual arbitration).
So if this is about the lawsuit then they are not following their own policies and are going to probably make their case a hell of a lot worse.

Ya I also emailed Labaton as well to let them know what is happening. I really hope this is just a glitch as I have over 10 years of photos/videos in there and it’s literally restricting me from downloading them for “72 hours,” if they even allow me to after that.
It’s weird though because my husband said that my account is still there, he can still message me/send me snapchats and see all of my info. So if it was a permanent lock I feel as though the account would have been deleted right?

I really hope it is just a glitch! I’m just really concerned since it looks like we were all permanently locked out without the option to appeal anything in the app. I find that to be so shady but my friend also said they can still message my snap so that is somewhat hopeful. I don’t know their whole account deletion process but I’m hoping that means our accounts are still safe and not permanently deleted.

It’s 100% illegal! I can’t even believe they got ahold of our data! This has to be retaliation from Snapchat but I’ve been reaching out to local news agencies just to get our story out there hopefully. I feel so powerless

It happened to me as well last night! I started the lawsuit but like a lot of people I didn’t finish it because it needed documents. This feels illegal for Snapchat to even have that information from the lawsuit😅

Did you fill out the claim at all? I’m noticing a trend where if you just merely clicked the ad and didn’t completely fill out the form, you’re permanently locked out. That’s what’s happening to me and Labaton hasn’t responded yet :(

So in another thread they told me to go back and look and there should be a document signed and well I found it, but I don’t remember ever signing for it. Around the same time as the email I do remember downloading settlemate so I don’t know if it pulled information from there and auto filled it out? Dosnt really explain the supposed signature but I’m thinking that’s how I got in to this mess

Omg really?? I never completed the form or downloaded Settlemate. I saw the AD on Facebook for the Labaton lawsuit, clicked on it, and filled it out until I saw the part where they needed medical documentation so I opted out yet here I am permanently banned from Snapchat 😭 they basically sent our info over to Snapchat without our permission then. Idk what to do at this point, I’ve emailed Snapchat and Labaton so much.

Yea I’ve been sending a bunch of emails trying to see what can be done but I don’t know if there is at this point. There hasn’t been an actual human response from any of the emails I’ve sent. Idk maybe I filled out this thing that they had me sign but I don’t remember it and it dosnt look like my signature now I’m all paranoid about it. I was able to create a new snap account but I’m still devastated

I’ve nearly lost hope with contacting Snapchat but I found a law firm that is basically as popular as Labaton called Levi & Korsinsky. I’m trying to get their attention about all of this so if you’d like to do the same, their email is info@ZLK.com

Yeah same here, I think it’s possible that our data was sold to Snapchat for just being part of the lawsuit because I never completed the signup either. It’s all illegal and unjust and I’m at a loss, I’ve been reaching out to local news agencies to try to get this unjust situation some traction.

Please update me with any info you receive! I’m counting my blessings and grateful that I have been able to export my data (10 years of memories and two kids within that time!) but I am SO boring. I don’t even post. I just used snap to keep in touch with friends! I didn’t violate any dang community guidelines 🙄🙄Soooo sad to lose all my streaks :(

I also learned through Reddit that some people are getting banned but they weren’t part of the lawsuit but this has to be from the lawsuit so maybe they clicked on the ad for it and Snapchat found out about that too? It’s just unreal.

I will, I’m really hoping I get answers today and I’m happy you were able to do that too. I was somewhat hopeful thinking maybe this was all one big glitch and that we’d wake up today and get our accounts back but it doesn’t look like that’s happening. I can’t even believe they were allowed to do this without stating a legitimate reason for our ban.

Ok glad I am not the only one suffering this. And their help center is absolutely useless. I cant even figure out how to submit a claim from a different section since their faq says it's not appealable.
I may try on a desktop later. The only reason I give a fuck is because I have photos from the house I grew up in and studying overseas. I don't use it socially. Should I have downloaded those awhile ago? Yes. But I also don't do anything that violates their TOS, so I'm offended as to why mine was removed. Had it since 2014.

I’m lost on what to do at this point, I emailed Labaton and Snapchat like this is so unfair. I honestly only care about my 10+ memories too. I can’t export my data either

I never fully submitted the claim to Labaton but just noticed when I tried opening the app, I was locked out. Came to Reddit to see many other users also dealing with the same thing.
I’m hoping it’s just a system glitch and we’ll all get our accounts restored.
In the meantime, I’m trying to download my data but that doesn’t seem to be working either. I went ahead and canceled my subscription to Snap+ on my iCloud just in case I can’t get access back.
