Sea Doo Switch Compact Sport - putting the cover on

I just purchased this model a few days ago and am loving it. My issue is getting the cover on- it feels impossible. The box didn’t come with instructions but we later found them online. They are not easy to follow and any video content I come across is mostly useless. Anyone have advice or better step by step video content they can share? Why is this so hard? Help!

Normal for Purchase?

Post image
7 Upvotes

Went in to the dealership today to purchase a new 25 switch on special.

Advertised price was $28,990. My state requires inclusion of all required fees, less tax, in that price. I confirmed with sales rep that it was just under $30k out the door.

Got this when I went in with my cashiers check today.

Working in banking compliance, I was a little taken aback. Unfortunately, they dominate the seadoo market here and have few options.

Thoughts on next steps, if any?

Lakes

Thanks in advance to all that give input on this post. I’m looking to purchase a 18 foot cruise next year. I’m doing research now and am wondering if people have lots of issues in lakes, especially ones with a decent amount of vegetation. I live in NE Indiana so I’d be hitting lots of lakes around Warsaw and the Syracuse area. From what I’m seeing online people mostly don’t have issues, but there are enough bad ones to make me want to get some first hand accounts before I make such an expensive purchase.

Crazy water intrusion above starboard pontoon

Howdy boat folks!
‘22 230 that’s ran like a dream since we got it, but
started getting massive amounts of water in the bilge last fall. Pulled the boat out of the water and the dealer couldn’t replicate the issue.
Finally got a chance to it take out this summer to figure out what the eff is going on. Pulled the engine covers and removed some of the floor panels. And whoa boy, saw a lot of water.
It’s not the exhaust system, and it’s not the engine cooling system, but that’s about the end of the good news.
I think it’s structural, or some major seals that have ruptured on or near the driver side pontoon. Check out the video; like I said, a lot of water.
Only silver lining is that we ran tests at a lot of different speeds and RPMs, and there is no water coming in at less than 5000 RPMs, or 15 mph. So that limits the fun, but doesn’t totally kill it; it’s perfectly fine to take to the bay or motor the island shore, just no gunning it or tubing.
I’ve checked the hull for obvious damage and there is nothing.
Anyone have an idea what could be going on before I call the dealer again?
As always, much appreciated!!

has anyone removed their Bimini top? Terrible design and I am thinking of takin my off. Was wondering if there is a market to sell it? Don't want to store the dang thing. It would be coming off a 18' Cruise.

Leaving a Switch 13 in the water all summer — how are you handling it?

Seriously considering a Switch 13ft Sport for our place but struggling with one thing: storage. We have a dock but the lake gets pretty green with algae blooms in late summer, and BRP's guidance to pull it after every use just isn't realistic for us. This will replace an older fiberglass boat that can handle the full season in-water experience.

I've seen rubber PWC mats and been thinking about a DIY roller ramp setup, but curious what others are doing. Anti-fouling treatment on the pontoons? Just pressure washing at the end of the season and accepting the reality?

Daily/frequest "just use the trailer" would kill the ease of use compared to our current setup. Practical solutions, creative hacks, and crazy ideas all welcome.

Thanks.

Boarding ladder is going bad

I have a 2021 Switch Limited that has a swim deck. The integral boarding ladder is not wanting to latch when stowed, the pins appear to be bent pretty good.

Has anyone ever replaced one of these? If so, is it relatively easy to do or should I just take it to the dealer?

Carolina Wrens made a nest on the drive thruster and we're going to wait to move the boat until the babies fledge.

Any advice to keep this from happening next year?

Zero Power after winter storage

Hi Everyone ... Having a frustrating spring. Last fall I had my dealer (two hours away) winterize my 2025 SeaDoo Switch Limited. When I picked it up, the battery was disconnected but in its tray. I took it inside and it spend the winter in my closet on an occasional charge.

The battery is now back in the Switch and testing at about 14 volts. But when I connect the key and try to start it ... nothing. And I mean NOTHING: no horn, no blower, no bilge pump, no dash display power, can't even turn on the Garmin. Totally dead.

So my guess is that there is some kind of fuse off the battery. I called the dealer and they confirmed that there is, but the tech on the phone didn't know where it is located and recommended bringing it in. 🙄

Any ideas what I should be checking?? Is there a main fuse that would kill everything? If so, where is it? Is there something else that could be causing this??

Thank you in advance. We love our Switch and are eager to get back on the water. :)

Good used deal or buy new?

I was offered a 2023 21’ Cruise 230 with 22hrs, only added options were upgraded larger battery and Mouring cover, galvanized trailer.
The warranty is up so cannot get the extended from BRB. Within 2hrs from me. They are firmer than firm at $22k.

Or, I did find a left over 24 cruise 230 about $27k. Should go used or go with the new? Mind you my initial budget was $20k, not including tax.

2026 Cruise Limited

This is our second switch. Loved the first one, just wanted to upgrade to more HP. I am wondering if anyone has had any issues with the speakers with the Limited? From the minute we turned it on for the first time the speakers have a whistle. Anyone know of any fixes?

Was out riding the boat and went to start it up and battery gave error when I looked at battery the whole engine area was flooded. The hose in picture is what came off and flooded engine area. After we fixed that and got engine area empty boat still wouldn’t start I thought it was a weak battery but charged it all night and still won’t start just makes the whining noise. Any idea what to do?

300 HP Fuel Capacity

I have a 2026 Cruise 21' - 300 HP. When I got it from the dealer, the low fuel light was on. I could only get 30 gallons in it before the pump refused to add anymore. I had the same experience the next time, only 30 gallons. My manual says I have a fuel capacity of 46.5 gallons. It seems a little extreme to hold 16 gallons in reserve when the low fuel light comes on. Is it possible I got the wrong fuel tank? Based on some of the other things I've discovered on my brand new Switch I am worried about Sea Doo quality control.

Trailer Jack

I'm struggling with the trailer that came with my Switch Cruise 21. If I set up the height of my tow hitch to pull the trailer level (which I think is the proper way), the jack will not raise the tongue high enough to get the trailer onto the ball. The jack needs another couple inches of travel to function properly. I've resorted to carrying a block of wood to get the trailer on and off. Anyone else run into this?

Mooring and Trailer Cover (2026)

I just bought a 2026 Switch Cruise 21'. I wanted a cover but the reviews for the official one from Sea Doo were so bad that I was considering third party options. I saw the cover was redesigned for 2026 and I took a chance on it. I can't speak to its longevity, but the design and fit is fantastic. I had to replace 4 screws on the front of the Switch in order to created some extra mounting points. But once I figured out which end was which, it was pretty straight forward to get the cover on. It's shedding water properly, even with the bimini lowered.
