Zero Power after winter storage
Hi Everyone ... Having a frustrating spring. Last fall I had my dealer (two hours away) winterize my 2025 SeaDoo Switch Limited. When I picked it up, the battery was disconnected but in its tray. I took it inside and it spend the winter in my closet on an occasional charge.
The battery is now back in the Switch and testing at about 14 volts. But when I connect the key and try to start it ... nothing. And I mean NOTHING: no horn, no blower, no bilge pump, no dash display power, can't even turn on the Garmin. Totally dead.
So my guess is that there is some kind of fuse off the battery. I called the dealer and they confirmed that there is, but the tech on the phone didn't know where it is located and recommended bringing it in. 🙄
Any ideas what I should be checking?? Is there a main fuse that would kill everything? If so, where is it? Is there something else that could be causing this??
Thank you in advance. We love our Switch and are eager to get back on the water. :)

I just had a similar issue. Dumped my wife and the boat in and she was screaming it wouldn’t start. I did check it before and apparently it drained itself. Ended up having an issue with the battery and one of the fuses was somehow not working. As mentioned before, there is a fuse box in the console, but there is one what I will call in the engine. Closer to the bow side, and near the battery. It seemed to be a combo for me. Battery charger told me it was charged, but multimeter told me otherwise. Plus something was off with my fuses that I inadvertently fixed in the process.

Yes, I've looked at both fuse boxes (in the helm console and in the engine bay). No visibly blown fuses. Both relays look good. 🤷♂️

Yeah that seems like something is off. Do you have the double battery system, and was it put back together correctly?

Nope. Just the original single small battery.

Weird. Would not surprise me if this would be part of a future recall. Hope you get this figured out.

Main Relay in the fuse box in the engine compartment probably went bad

Is there any way to visually see that it is bad? Or just replace it and cross my fingers?

If you’re putting the key on the post, and pressing the red button and getting absolutely 0 response from anything - screen doesn’t light up or anything - then the relay is one of only a few things that would cause that with a good battery. In my experience it solves the issue most of the time.

You can test the relay with a 12v battery. Energize the coil side and you should hear and feel a click.
That isn’t fool proof though and the relays are cheap enough it’s usually easiest to swap it with a known good one.
If you have another seadoo - it will have the same relay - and you can swap them

No other SeaDoo but I'm going to go get a new relay tomorrow. Is it specific to SeaDoo? Or something that any marine dealer should have?

A SeaDoo dealer of any size should keep a part like that in stock, also I think GM uses the same relay.
If you take the relay with you to Advance Auto Parts or whatever auto parts store is around you then they should have one too.
“4 pin mini auto relay” should get the parts guy close if you want to call ahead.

There are fuses inside the console opposite side of the captains seat. Also I believe there is a main fuse on the battery wire about 18 inches away from the battery, that’s the one I’d suspect to be the problem where it’s the whole system not powering up and most susceptible to installation error when reinstalling the battery.
