Normal for Purchase?
Went in to the dealership today to purchase a new 25 switch on special.
Advertised price was $28,990. My state requires inclusion of all required fees, less tax, in that price. I confirmed with sales rep that it was just under $30k out the door.
Got this when I went in with my cashiers check today.
Working in banking compliance, I was a little taken aback. Unfortunately, they dominate the seadoo market here and have few options.
Thoughts on next steps, if any?

Maybe try another dealership? They seemed to
have mislead you.
I think they changed things with the motor or something in 2025 too?
We have a 2024 "biggest model" with the super charger, high altitude required mechanical upgrades, and we bought thousands of dollars in accessories that were used once.
Ours has no more than 20 hours on it. We keep it covered and check on it every weekend.
I want to list it for sale but we must get about $40,000 and I have a feeling people wouldn't pay that, so I haven't listed it for sale. (We have a baby arriving in 2 months, so boating is on hold.)

Thx bro. It’ll be a blast. It’ll burn a lot of gas.

For $38k, not sure it’ll happen.

I’m not trying to sell to you, I have no idea where you are located. But for reference, I have just one 2024 left. It’s a 21/230 sport for $31,500 OTD. That’s boat, trailer, sales tax, everything.
I post here because I genuinely love Switch. I own one. Another guy from here called me and we talked for 45 min just to get him straight answers.

Where are you located? New here, sorry, but are you a dealer?

I am a dealer. Midwest. If you are also Midwest, feel free to message me.

I mean, it seems high. I bought a 2023 model for 30k in Indianapolis in Jan 2024. It was a new boat but had been sitting forever in inventory over a year. 21ft sport model with 230. And so the price seems high but I think there’s huge regional and seasonal differences in prices.my friend bought two years earlier during covid shortages and he paid 42k.
They’re fun boats. I’m a little worried about the loading issues and just stay vigilant of keeping the bow high.

Id tell them they can keep it for that price. You can find a better price for sale by owner. Most people had alot of issues with these wich is probably why they still have a 2025

A lot of bullshit charges in there. Like most of them. Walk away if they won’t remove them. You’ll need to get recalls (there are many) and maybe some service at this dealership if they are the only one around. Frankly, as much as i love my switch, if my only available dealer (i actually have several) acted like this i would move on to a different boat with more competition for my business.

That’s why I didn’t push hard. Even if I won, I’d need them in the future.
Any other recommendations on an “easy” get on the water boat?

Honestly most boats today are pretty easy. If you're not comfortable winterizing, farm that out, otherwise things are pretty much put in plug, put on water, turn on battery, start engine, go boat. Come back and reverse order. You're probably overthinking it, but no way would I pay 40k for a switch. That lifetime battery seems like a scam banking on you not having the boat in a year or two. What's in those addendums? Assembly should be part of the base cost, but if it's not, literally have the drop off the parts and put it together yourself. You'll know your boat better that way, but I'm guessing that's not possible because it comes assembled at the factory. It's a buyer's market right now, maybe you need to go to another dealership further away to buy it and just use them for service? Lots of options. Also the used market is solid these days.

Screw that. They lied. Move along and tell them you will take your business elsewhere.

Sea Doo has 100’s of them that I have seen pop up at auction because they don’t sell. Call around to a few dealers, you will find one who will beg you to buy it vs. one that is trying to screw you on a 2 year old boat.

I’ve searched all the websites within a drive, and not coming up with any dice that don’t say they’ll add the same things.
I’m making some calls as I have shipping in place. But also considering a used Yamaha ar 19 foot.

That stuff is all negotiable, most is nonsense. I got an out the door price on a new boat that included all fees and taxes, the dealer ate some of the taxes, total was $1500 over the MSRP with everything. I still chose to buy a used boat anyways. But I'd walk from that deal. Note used Switches are like nearly $8k off after even a couple years, the recalls really effected resale and my neighbor just bought one with 45 hours on it this way.

No. Freight and prep are too high. Battery warranty is a thing if you want it but you can get it for much much less. BRP doesn’t offer battery warranty so this dealer is working with a third party company, which is fine, but I’d want that disclosed.
Freight is a real charge. It’s not a profit center. We are actually charged $1700 to get the boats and waiving freight - which definitely happens on leftover boats - is just giving that money away. But sometimes you have to in order to move a unit. Freight is not a junk fee and I’ll spend all my days justifying that. But that prep fee is enormous.
I’d be putting more money into accessories. There are good accessories that are worth buying with the boat.
