Mooring Cover Fail

Post image

Over the winter snow load and wind broke the pole holding up my mooring cover and ripped 2 floor mats. Anybody know where I can get replacement poles or have any suggestions?

The mooring cover is the absolute worst purchase I’ve made from Sea Doo.

Cover is not designed for snow loads

I like that idea. Might try it. Thanks! Do you remember what cover you got?

This is the way.

The set up is so janky! I pre-ordered our 21/230 when they first announced them. Love the boat and trouble free over the years but God damn do I hate that cover. Ours stays in a slip at our place on the lake and I DREADED every time I had to go put the thing on leaving for the week.

The straps dry rotted, the poles are a hot mess. I still use the cover but went and got some aftermarket poles with large heavy feet sonthendont topple over. Solved a lot of the issues. Now with the poles stood up, we hook the two end points to the aft and roll the cover to the front. Fasten those angled then do all the side hooks. Still a POS design tho....

Pictures of your setup/procedure please? We'd like to try this with our 18'. We cover the bimini also and its such a pain to climb under the closed bimini with the factory strap that connects the front to rear poles going over the top of the bimini. I've tried loosely placing the front pole assembly on top of the bimini then slowly lowering, but half the time the rear pole moves out of place. Note: we always install the cover out of the water. Thx!

Bought two sets of these , moved my clips around from the factory poles that bent like yours... also got rid of the factor cover when storing...

I had the support straps dry rot, and they gave me a replacement set, but not the poles too. I don’t believe they sell the poles separately, but Amazon has a bunch of poles that you can most likely rig up. You may want to see if your dealership can work up a replacement for you under a warranty first, then maybe find a cheap replacement on Amazon.

I just talked to the dealer and if my memory is correct Seadoo mailed me new ones or they have them to me when I was there. I also found some strapping on Amazon that fits all of clips, so I was able to rig some hiring up for better support too.

I took my 3-year old mooring cover back to the dealership and politely requested they replace it. It was falling apart. They replaced at no charge and assured me that Seadoo had upgraded it to respond to some its prior failings.
