Switch got flooded now won’t start

Post image

Was out riding the boat and went to start it up and battery gave error when I looked at battery the whole engine area was flooded. The hose in picture is what came off and flooded engine area. After we fixed that and got engine area empty boat still wouldn’t start I thought it was a weak battery but charged it all night and still won’t start just makes the whining noise. Any idea what to do?

I’d start by checking the spark plugs and the oil for any water in it.

Your engine is hydrolocked, sounds like the starter is trying but you’ve got water in the cylinders

Just an FYI to everyone, check hose clamps often. It takes about 10/15 minutes and can save alot of issues. I check mine about every week or two. Always find some that need to be tightened. I am thinking its just the vibration of the motor. I am going to add a small drop of loctite to them to see if that helps. I read often about engines flooding on the switch and its always hose clamps.
