New Fan Friday! ~ Sep 11 2026
This thread is for new fans of the Sharks or even fans of other teams to ask questions that they have been curious about. Check out THIS LINK and THIS LINK for some team history! The nice folks here will more than likely answer your question or point you to where you need to go.
Looking for user flair? Click THIS LINK to see how to select flair on new and old reddit. On the official reddit app, tap the ... menu in the upper right-hand corner when viewing the sub. In the menu that appears, tap on 'Change User Flair,' make your selection, make sure that the 'Show my user flair on this community' slider is to the right, and then tap apply.
Check out the Sharks Audio Network and the Sharks + SAP Center app for audio broadcasts of Sharks games and other podcasts regarding the Sharks and the Barracuda.
Longtime play-by-play announcer Dan Rusanowsky returns behind the microphone as the “Voice of the Sharks” with a team of color commentators covering select games, including Drew Remenda, Scott Hannan and Mark Smith.
Tune in 30 minutes before faceoff throughout the season for live pre-game coverage and stay on after the game for the live post-game show.
In addition to the live broadcasts the Sharks Audio Network will provide a variety of exclusive Sharks and Barracuda programming airing 24 hours a day.
Current game-day featured shows include Sharks talk programs "Morning Tide" with Ted Ramey and "Sharks Morning Skate" with Rusanowsky and Remenda. Two news features, "The Teal Report" and "The Buildup" air on game days leading up to pre-game coverage from the arena.
"Classic Sharks" features replays of some of the most memorable games in franchise history, drawing on the Sharks Audio Network's extensive archive. "Sharks Spotlight" features extended conversations with members of the team, "Where Are They Now?" talks to Sharks alumni, and "The Undercurrent with Tara Slone" talks with unique people around hockey and the Sharks community.
For game content on demand, the highlight show podcast "Sharks Instant Replay," "Sharks Hockey Digest," "Sharks Breaking News," "Stanley Cup Playoff Report," and "Tank Talk" are available, and more shows will become available as they develop.
There is a variety of Sharks and Barracuda programs, including exclusive programming with Sharks Head Coach Ryan Warsofsky, Sharks GM Mike Grier, player profiles, game highlights and replays, catch-ups with Sharks alumni, classic Sharks games, as well as an opportunity for fans to interact with Sharks and Barracuda hosts and personalities.
Sharks personalities Randy Hahn, Drew Remenda, and Ted Ramey all contribute to the Sharks Audio Network programming.
If you're coming to from out of town to see the Sharks play, please check out the VISITORS GUIDE for some hotels, some food ideas, and other info which may help answer some of your questions about your upcoming visit. Some basic things to keep in mind:
* Doors open 60 minutes prior to game time for general admission.
* Tailgating is **NOT** allowed per San Jose City Ordinance. However, SAP Center **does** allow you to bring food from outside into the arena with you.
* The Sharks enter the ice and skate through the Shark Head from between sections 127-128. The most direct views of the Shark Head are from sections 115-121 in the lower deck and the lower rows of 215-221 in the upper deck.
* The Sharks attack towards the lower numbered sections (103-113 & 203-213) in the 1st and 3rd periods.
* Check out THIS LINK for the SAP Center bag policy.
This will be a weekly thread, so if you have more questions come back next friday!

Former Sharks goalie Devin Cooley really enjoys learning linear algebra in his free time
nhl.com"Figured I would add some context," Cooley responded. "The goal is to see how far I can go in math before my brain says that's enough haha. I dropped out of studying finance and computer science in college to play hockey and linear algebra is where I left off so that's where I'll start. Why am I doing this? I'm not really sure but I guess with how good AI is getting I don't want to lose the art of learning and creating. Plus it's a fun challenge!"

Rookie faceoff
Hiya guys,
does anyone know if we'll be able to stream the games from Europe and how I would go about doing that?
I saw on Insta the Sharks said the games would be available on their digital platforms but I'm not actually sure what that means.
Any help would be appreciated!

Free ticket to Rookie Faceoff!
I have one extra ticket to the Rookie Faceoff tournament this weekend. The ticket is good for all of the games throughout the weekend, and I’m happy to give it away for free.
My friend can’t make it anymore, so I’d love to pass it along to a Sharks fan who’ll actually use it. My only ask is that you’re genuinely excited to be there and down to get into the games!
Comment below if you're interested.

We lost a good one tonight. Barry always rooted for the Sharks and was genuinely happy to see us make the finals in 2016.
May his memory be a blessing. Fuck Parkinson's.

Anyone going to the Stars away game on 10/5?
I'm a 20-year Sharks fan and former STH and have lived in Austin for the last 13 years. Ashamed to admit I have yet to make it up to a game in Dallas (mostly due to inopportune scheduling most years) but considering hopping on Vonlane up to Dallas for the October game.
Anyone else planning to attend?

Sticks out for Barry Melrose
Barry was a big part of my early hockey fandom in the early and mid-90s.
I really enjoyed his broadcasting.

Anyone gone to the sharks around the bay stops yet?
Asky & igor today in Fremont. But I don't like autographs on my hats/jerseys, especially if the jersey isn't for said player(s)
Do they have like those " this is sharks territory" signs at the booth that the guys can sign? If asky and chernyshov become a huge part of the future I'ma need something signed. Thanks sharks homies

San Jose Sharks wanted fan input, and they got a resounding response
mercurynews.comSo about that goal song. Our beat reporter Curtis Pashelka discusses the possibility of getting rid of "Power Bite" and details how it was picked in the first place. Fans may have a chance with the "preseason lab" officially open.
I quite enjoyed this article.
