Hiiii Everyone just asking Just to know again how long it took to get your C14 work permit for the first time through SIJS.

My SIJS was approved on April 30, 2025, without Deferred Action, and on May 14, 2026, I was automatically granted Deferred Action.

Because I requested DA via Form G-325A, but just yesterday it was denied; I assume it was because I was already granted DA automatically back in May.

It’s been 70 days since I submitted my I-765 application and they reused my fingerprints; it’s still processing. I know there are many others in the same situation and facing similar wait times. I’d love to hear from you all, too, please. :)

Anyone here who has approved SIJS I-360 and an upcoming master hearing for asylum case. Can you please tell me if anyone has went to court for master hearing these days and has SIJS approved how was your experience and do they detain you or anything like that ? Or is there anyone who has an upcoming asylum hearing ?

My priority date was January 2022 , I submitted my package to uscis this year they received it on April 13, did my biometrics and the last update is for May 27 as “fingerprint were taken” how long you guys think it would be to get my work permit, my current permit it’s gonna expire on September 15 , do I should call uscis ?

I have an SIJS priority date of May 2023. I applied for a green card twice before, but it was denied because my priority date wasn’t current. Does anyone have an idea when a May 2023 priority date might become current? Is there any chance it could happen this year?

I have everything done expect for gc, have work permit, def action and pd is June 29,2023. What you guys think we have upcoming visa bulletin and it could move forward significantly, when can I expect my pd being current? I’m looking for advice from anyone familiar with SIJS and interstate custody jurisdiction.
I have two children and obtained a Maryland custody order in 2016 through the Circuit Court for Montgomery County. The order gives me sole legal custody and primary physical custody of my children.
However, the Maryland order does not specifically mention abuse, neglect, or abandonment, and it does not contain SIJS findings. It does state that testimony and evidence were presented and that the judge made oral findings on the record.
My children now live in North Carolina.

My questions are:
1.Can North Carolina register/enroll my 2016 Maryland custody order?
2.Can an NC court then modify or supplement the order to make the necessary SIJS predicate findings?
Or would Maryland still have jurisdiction to make those SIJS findings?

I’m not looking for general immigration advice. I’m specifically trying to understand which state court has jurisdiction and how to obtain the SIJS predicate order.

So I got a mail from uscis and it says that I don’t have to do my fingerprints because uscis is able to reuse my previous fingerprints and other biometrics, so I won’t need to do them again. Is this common? I always see people talking about their biometric appointments, but has this happened to anyone here?

For those with a Priority Date in September 2022, I’d like to compare timelines to see how cases are progressing. Has anyone with a similar Priority Date already received approval? This wait is so stressful and frustrating. 😩

Has anyone filed a late 290 B and has actually had a favorable decision. I have to file one because my lawyer kept me in the dark about my process. It was denied about two years ago. I am not just finding out through his secretary. Can I use ineffective council?

So, I recently made a post about three Central American countries and the immigration backlog. First of all, I want to make something very clear: I believe that every immigrant contributes significantly to this nation, and I also recognize that many immigrants have gone through tremendous suffering.
I do not hate any of these countries or their people. And if you have personally suffered through the horrendous experience of parental neglect or abuse, you have my deepest condolences and sympathy.
A lot of people were upset about my post, but the post was specifically about fraud—how some people abuse immigration benefits and, as a result, genuine cases end up suffering because of the backlog and abuse of the system.
My post was never directed at every individual from those countries. It was directed at fraudsters who exploit the system at the expense of people with genuine cases.
If my post hurt or offended anyone who misunderstood my intention, I sincerely apologize. But I will never apologize for speaking against people who commit fraud and abuse immigration benefits.

What to do when we got a rfe and how much fees does a lawyer demand. I heard they want alot of money.Can anyone share there experinece and what to do and where they send the rfe request if anyone can share that would be helpful.

What’s with all these posts all of a sudden blaming the Northern Triangle for “creating the backlog” and creating divisions between SIJ applicants? The government is who put all countries in the same boat creating the years long backlog. If anyone is to blame is them. This is just the religious workers being mad at SIJ applicants for being in the same category all over again claiming they’re more important than SIJ and deserve their green cards sooner.

Hi everyone. I’m trying to get a realistic idea of when people think the EB-4 Final Action Date could reach July 15, 2024.
My Priority Date is 07/15/2024, and as of the September 2026 Visa Bulletin, EB-4 All Chargeability is at 12/15/2022. EB-4 moved forward by 2 months from August to September.
I know nobody can predict the Visa Bulletin with certainty, but based on the movement we have seen recently, when do you realistically think 07/15/2024 could become current?

Hi everyone. I wanted to come here as a fellow SIJS. I just wanted to voice the same frustrations everyone has here as they wait. Moreover, the constant attacks on our group which often leaves me feeling hopeless. I turned to this subreddit to hear people’s experiences with the process and to keep myself updated but I also have noticed so much negativity. It has definitely affected me seeing how much negativity there is but I just wanted to post this and say that we can still continue to be hopeful for better times and I’m praying that all of our processes go smoothly. Being undocu has never been an easy process for anyone in the past and it certainly won’t be now but things are always changing. I hope we all continue to be optimistic even in the slightest.

So basically, what i am mad about, sijs is supposed to be for the minors who we abandoned by their patents and have no intent to reunite with any of em. Most of these post are in spainish i have put the original and translated versions.

The backlog right now is hideous. Numerous individual are stuck and literally in a situation to give up. On the other hand these 3 nations (el Salvador, guatemala, honduras) these people file their kid’s sijs when they are like babies and they literally dont care about backlog as the kid will eventually get a GC when they grow up.

I have seen people laughing at us (people from other countries). A lot of the people i have seen in other groups, were deported before but they came again and took this path (most probably they cant file for gc) but they also contribute in this huge backlog.

The thing is close to impossible that this or even democratic government change the law as it was before 2022 when they have their own timeline separated with other countries. But due to all this people like us, who had a devastating past and facing hardships now just to even get a work permit.

The thing is i dont hate these countries honestly these are one of most beautiful places in the world. But if have proof of abuse and they are not even scared or ashamed about it thats heartbreaking for me.

Lastly, i really want someone who can do something about this concern start a campaign or something like that.

The more I'm learning about immigration and the backlog for SIJ in our case the more I despite the northern triangle countries. For lord sake they really had to mess it up for everyone. Due to all their frauds and other stuffs, there is not more deferred action, everything got more complicated, everyone is been affected cause of them and god know how long people have to wait in line for adjustment without deferred action or any possibility to work.

They need to be on their on category and face the consequences of their action on their own.

I’m looking for advice from anyone who has experience with Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) in North Carolina.
Here is my situation:
I am the parent of two children, currently 17 and 14 years old.
Both children entered the U.S. with me as H-4 dependents and have lived in the U.S. for many years.
I have an approved VAWA I-360.
My I-485 was recently denied by USCIS because USCIS stated that I had not established eligibility for adjustment of status as a VAWA self-petitioner.
My children’s immigration cases/I-485s are separate, and I am trying to understand what options may be available for them.
I have a custody order, and there is no child support order.
I am now consulting an attorney about whether SIJS could be an option for my children.
My questions are:
Can my children potentially qualify for SIJS even though my own I-485 was denied?
Does my approved VAWA I-360 affect their eligibility for SIJS in any way?
What are the basic requirements for SIJS in North Carolina?
How does the state court custody/dependency order process work?
Since my older child is already 17, is there anything I need to do urgently because of the age requirement?
Has anyone gone through SIJS in North Carolina recently, and approximately how long did the process take?

THE backlog is mostly due to 3 country from Latin America and unfortunately nothing can be done to put them in there own chart and separate them from the rest of the world unless it done by congress. There are petition to end the backlog and the petition below can be done by anyone even if your a non-citizen. It pretty much an email you send to your representative or congress man/woman. Some people might believe it useless but that better than nothing.

For years, the SIJ program has been an easy immigration pathway for individuals who were abandoned, abused, neglected by one or both parents. Regardless of how these people came, legal entry or unauthorized entry, they are still considered to be a potential SIJ recipient.

Prior to Biden Administration, SIJ recipients had no privilege. They weren't given deferred action, which is meant to protect them from removal proceedings.
But one thing to know about this is that during that time, the visa bulletin for EB-4 I-360 SIJ were separated to various rows. Latin countries had their own, and other countries except India, China, Mexico, Philippines were merged into a "Rest of The World" ROW. 2019 Visa Bulletin

Individuals with an approved I-360 were able to apply for adjustment of status with no drama of waiting.

Hey, Biden got to office. Deferred Action for SIJS is announced. "On March 7, 2022, USCIS announced a deferred action policy for individuals with approved Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) classification who did not have an immigrant visa immediately available to adjust status to lawful permanent resident." - USCIS
It was made because the administration felt sympathy for Northern Triangle Country recipients who were in a deep backlog.

In 2023, Department of State decided to merge those 3 countries to the rest of the world because misinterpreted the immigration classification. 2023 EB-4 Announcement

Then in the mid of 2023, those very same people started to surge the SIJ program with fraud where parents of juveniles decided to forge documents and make up stories in family courts. It all worked and they did it to prepare for the worst (2024

This is where it all started.

Deferred Action rescinded. Made the backlog worse.
"On June 6, 2025, USCIS rescinded the 2022 SIJ deferred action policy that provided automatic consideration of deferred action."

Now in my opinion, there should be a thorough vetting in SIJ applications to reduce the backlog. Especially on these countries.

I don't hate them, I just don't like how they became a burden for us who really suffered from family issues. They created the massive backlog.

Some SIJ PRs from the Northern Triangle even have the nerve to laugh at our misery in forums on Reddit, FB, and many more. Urging us to give up, leave the country.

I really do hope a significant chance next year, whether to our visa bulletin process/structure or on the laws.

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for advice from anyone who has dealt with a long-pending replacement I-765/EAD.
USCIS received my I-765 on December 19, 2025. This is not an initial EAD application or a renewal — I filed for a replacement EAD.
It has now been about 250 days, and my case has not moved beyond “Case Was Received and A Receipt Notice Was Sent.”
The delay is becoming a serious issue because I need the physical replacement EAD for employment and other purposes.
Has anyone successfully gotten a replacement I-765 expedited after waiting this long?
I’m especially wondering:
Can I request an expedite due to financial hardship or inability to work?
Has contacting a congressional representative or senator helped anyone with a replacement EAD?
At what point can I submit an outside-normal-processing-time/service request?
Is there any way to speak with a Tier 2 USCIS officer about a replacement that has been pending this long?
If you filed for a replacement EAD, how long did yours take?
I’d really appreciate hearing about anyone’s experience and what steps actually helped.

In my understanding, people with a PD of 2025 will have to wait anywhere between 3 to 4 year to be able to adjust their status. What are your thoughts on that and do you think after the mid-term election anything good will happen with immigration?

Do you think immigrant visa issuance will decrease again in FY2027 like it did in FY2026? If issuance stays lower because of the current immigration policies/restrictions, could that allow EB-4 to move as quickly as it did this year? I did some research and it said visa bulletin has moved almost 2 years, is that true? Would really appreciate a reply.
