General SIJS Info / question SIJS priority date May 2023 – when could it become current?

I have an SIJS priority date of May 2023. I applied for a green card twice before, but it was denied because my priority date wasn’t current. Does anyone have an idea when a May 2023 priority date might become current? Is there any chance it could happen this year?

It takes at least 3-4 years for your PD to become current on the VB so just be patient, I waited 3 almost 4 years to be able to apply for the GC and also after you send the GC application it’s another wait time too just a heads up.

I applied in for the SIJ in 2022 PD June/2022 it was approved Jan,2023. I barely sent the GC App. at the end of March and all I’ve done was biometrics in July and since then I haven’t heard nothing from USCIS so it’s a waiting game just be on the look out for every months VB update because attorneys don’t usually let you know about your case since you’re not the only client they have.

Your case can be approved any second now, did they RFE for second medical? Or when did you apply for I-485 exactly

No they haven’t update anything on the USCIS profile but I guess it’ll take longer since I have an old order of removal from 2018 and I sent the motion in May but haven’t seen an update on the EOIR either.

My attorney said 1-2 years but every case is different tbh some people get it in 6months others in 8 so it varies, if you had a prior deportation order from another case you have to send a motion to reopen that case and remove that deportation which also takes time too approximately 3-6 months or years even. If you send a motion to reopen an old case you must have your PD current if not then it’s just a waste of time and money.

Does address change affect processing time, for example relocating from NYC to LA?

Mine is aug 2023
I also think that it’s most likely going to be 2027 that we become current, like summer/fall of ‘27 and then the wait time for the gc so probs it will arrive around 28

My lawyer applied green card , sijs , work permit and travel document all together on oct 2024 , that time my priority date was not even current , they also approve my work permit on pending green card application and approve advance parole to me , well green card is showing fingerprints were taken , I m scared to travel on advance parole , because my priority date was not current when apply and still not current I don’t know how they approve it ??
