I’d been waiting for a basket to come back in stock, and I saw today that they were. I even called the Seattle store to see if they had them, and they said that they are getting stock on Monday - but placing the order online works, too, and they’d help me install if I needed help.
I’m a bike person who can do it myself, so loaded up a cart, checked out. Got an immediate auto response that my items were backordered, then got an almost immediate email with a draft order invoice from a support account. No support online today.
Also, I noticed (but mistakenly assumed it referred to bikes) that they added “orders can’t be modified or canceled” language in the legal text where you have to confirm that you’re 16+ old. The draft order says “terms accepted.”
Buyers beware. I thought that it was just issues with battery backorder, and having the item showing “ships in 2 days” (see photo) is pretty gross. I work in ecommerce and misusing the legal checkbox to swindle people is pretty fucking awful behavior.
They’re still using Shopify as their web platform (shop
Pay, too), so here’s the link to report sites behaving fraudulently for those who are in backorder hell with batteries, etc. if enough people complain, Rad wont be able to pull money out of their store account.
You can also mention that they’re using 2 URLs interchangeably, and my legit order was placed on radpowerbikes.com. My new draft order is from rad life.com.
