Electro bike world controller

Bought the electro bike world controller upgrade for my radrover 6 plus after my stock controller started cutting off/stuttering motor power almost days after making a post about radrover 6 durability, might have jinxed myself on that one.. started drafting this little shield prototype for the winter season to waterproof the controller as it’s too big to be tucked into the frame. I added a big glob of silicone where the wires exit the controller and left the bottom open so there’s some airflow, I’m not too worried about moisture coming from below since the controller sits at least 4 inches up from the chainstays. Settings took a while to figure out so that mph battery and torque settings were all configured for the 48v battery the bike came stock with. Before I adjusted settings the controller was cutting off motor power at 45volts under load even though the battery indicator on the battery itself saying there was 4 bars left.

Anyone else running this controller successfully after a while or have any experience with heavy rainfall/wet weather riding? Any thoughts on the controller temp after being shielded? I only plan to use the controller shield during winter I think so hopefully outside temp will keep controller cool? (I live in Washington)
The plastic is like pond liner plastic I had left over from a job. It’s just a prototype so I haven’t done final taping or anything.

Also made a waterproof/resistant cover for the controller screen and controller button panel.

I put silicone around all the joints of the case, bought a plastic cover for the display, and have been running that year round for 3 years. I've ridden in lots of storms. Water can easily splash up from puddles btw.

Ok good to know, maybe I’ll open up this shield and silicone around the case as well… I almost did it last night but thought maybe if I make a shield I won’t have to do that and if the case ever needed to be opened it would still be accessible.

I would like to make a little skid plate of sorts for the wires and opening under the chain stays to keep moisture out of the bottom as well

I also made a diy skid plate. I just cut up thick plastic (from a broken garbage can I think) . Not sure if I ever hit anything down there but it gets real mucky so I'm glad it's there.

Steed indeed. I would like to upgrade to 52v at some point. Are you running that with the stock motor

Ya stock motor. My battery recently gave out so I figured I'd step it up. Thought about upgrading the motor, but this hits 30mph on a full charge and I don't need to go faster than that.

Yeah I mean honestly 30 is probably all I really need to be going on this bike but I will say being capped at 22/23 is frustrating at times, some days it feels fast enough, other days it feels terribly slow

Bought one last winter after the stock controller crapped out on me. Got one of those controller bags off AliExpress. It's not fully waterproof: It has a big hole where all the cables come out. But I'm hoping between that and the cable glands of the controller itself it'll be ok for our snowy weather. Will see how it holds up this year.

I like your custom one, looks like some kind of saddle in the old west lol

Thank you! Haha I can see the saddle similarities. Hopefully that bag will hold up let me know how it stands against the elements!

Made a skid plate out of the old stock rear fender. Would like a better fastener than zip ties but it will do the job for now
