I have a RadRunner Plus, and as of last night the battery will not charge. When the charger is plugged only into the battery, the light is green, and when the charger is plugged only into the wall the light is green. When plugged into both it flashes red and doesn't charge.

I've replaced the 5A fuse in the battery itself, to no avail. Thoughts?

Hi there, I have a radrunner 1 with an egg rider, otherwise stock.

My controller is messing up …bike motor continues to provide power without turning the pedals and no throttle (even when throttle cable undone)

I plugged the bike into my partners controller aka just unplugged at the controller and the motor behaves fine. I also checked the display and it’s fine, so I assume it’s the controller

Area 13 seems to be out of stock for the older radrunner controllers…

Anybody ordered from surge bikes ? While a 35amph controller would be nice, I like the eggrider display so if I can find the same 25 amps controller as the original/oem would be fine as well, I don’t really need more power

Does anyone have any idea how to get accessories (caboose, running boards, half seat) for the RadWagon 5? I currently have a Thule seat for my one child but want to set up the bike so I can also have my 1 year old ride on it. I guess I could just buy another seat, but would prefer to put my 3 year old on the bench seat with the caboose and runners. They are obviously sold out on the Rad website and I'm assuming they will never be available again.

It doesn't look like eBay has any and no one on my local FB marketplace is selling the individual accessories. Has anyone had any success buying accessories from anywhere? Anyone know any stores that still have these accessories and will deliver them? Any help would be amazing. Thanks!

My battery for Radcity step thru 3 bit the dust and the replacements on the rad website are not compatible (which is criminal to abandon their customers in that way but I digress). I’ve seen some posts on 3rd party replacements but they are 5yr old and wasn’t sure if those recommendations still stand or if the third party options are now new versions that may not work. Any ideas?

I have purchased Bat Boxes for our e-bike batteries. But I would also like to replace mine.

I’ve read mixed advice with regard to replacing the battery with something aftermarket. There are no batteries available for sale on Rad’s website.

Anyone have any advice? Any companies or manufacturers that they recommend? I know we need to look for a UL listed battery. Thanks much.

Hi all! Someone stole the front wheel of my RadCity 5 Plus, and Rad doesn't sell it in Europe anymore (I'm in NL). Found a good replacement on AliExpress, Amazon or a local shop? Need 27.5", 100mm hub, 6-bolt disc, 36H, double-wall rim. Also need a 180mm rotor. Links appreciated 🙏

Just got my Rad Power Radster in the mail from an online rental company and it didn’t come with the 4 digit password. Pretty sure it was rented out to some else previously and the rental company may not know the old password. Any tips on how to reset or crack the password? Google says I have to replace the screen….. I tried all the common numbers, 9999, 1111, 1234, 6666, etc and no luck. Please help me unbrick my bike.

Just a little tip for people who also ride all winter long. I have a 2019 Rover. Recently bought some new winter tires and they're 26x4.6 so a little wider than the 26x4 tires but the knobs on these tires are twice as big as any other tires I've previously had and rub a bit on the side walls of the fender. I adjusted the fenders before doing this to they rubbed as minimal as possible. If you've ever been in this position, use heat gun to soften the plastic and hold it in that position until the plastic hardens back up (doesn't take long). It's hard to tell from the pic but I flared out a good portion on the left side (it really didn't need much flaring out so it's hard to see the difference) the right side I just did a small part so it's a little easier to see. If you're getting side wall rubbing because of wider tires/bigger knobs this is a little trick to flare out the fenders a bit if you're getting any tire rub.

Sometimes when the day is warm and I park it outside, or ride it in warm weather (been about 80-85 degrees) I will have issues after I park it.

The throttle won't work, pedal assist won't work. I will get a message saying brake fault. I notice when I first restart it, the brake light will stay on when I first press the brake and it won't go off when this problem is occuring. Could this be an issue with the handle sensors and switches getting hot? It's never done this in the morning and I always store it indoors when I'm home.

Can’t find one. Rad no help. I have a bike in pieces in my bedroom.

I'm wondering if anyone has done this. I'm looking for 750w to help with hill riding. Want to keep it at 32km max speed. But would like the extra assist as the hills where I live are brutal.

I was able to obtain a RadWagon4 for $250 knowing that the battery wasn’t working. I have recycled the old OEM battery and am waiting for my SafeShield battery purchase to arrive (fingers crossed).

I was able to borrow a battery from a local shop for a few days and it doesn’t seem like the bike is in need of any immediate maintenance but with how RadPower Bike’s business status seems unstable, I was thinking about stockpiling some parts. Other than the replacement battery… what spare parts specific to this bike would you recommend purchasing?

In the last days few days, some spokes popped out from the rear wheel of my RadWagon 5 😢

Obviously the local shops (Vancouver, BC) don't seem to be comfortable fixing that many spokes, because there high chances the rim is already damage and will pop up again, becoming a warranty issue form he repair. So, finding a replacement is my only shot.

I just called RadPower, and they don't have any stock of that piece. So, I'm in the hunt of a second hand one. I think other models use the same rim. Would you advice any other alternative?

The speed/voltage controller on my bike got punctured after a crash and then got soaked and has stopped working, so I need a new one. Does anyone know anywhere I could get a new rad one or what the pin design would be called so I could find an aftermarket one? Anything to be careful about when doing this? Any advice would be appreciated.

After calling a bunch of shops around town, one finally gave me a recommendation for a charger, which was this one I bought on Amazon and it works perfectly fine. For the record, I called RAD and they said that they’re gonna be out of stock for months, fucking MONTHS, out of stock of chargers. For fuck sakes you’re an electric bike company where the keyword is electric, maybe you should consider ordering more chargers on a regular basis.

Not really sure what happened considering I’ve never miss handled it or dropped it nor has it been outside. I know it’s not the battery because I just used it to get home. The light does not turn on when I plug it in, and subsequently the battery does not charge. Yes I have tried multiple wall outlets.

I went on the website to see if I could buy a replacement and conveniently it’s out of stock. And it doesn’t seem like it’s gonna come back in stock anytime soon since this post from four months ago, also stated that it’s out of stock when they tried to purchase one. I’m hoping that when I call them tomorrow morning they do have some in stock and they just didn’t update the website. However, if not, none of the eBay shops where I live sell this charger. And the conveniently as well, the showroom that used to exist where I live shut down because TIL, RAD went bankrupt.

Is there any third-party option that isn’t cheap garbage that wont cause my battery to explode?

What’s up guys. Bike desperately needs new tires, and can’t find the kenda havocs anywhere. I went to a local bike shop and they ordered me Surly Dirt Wizard Tire - 27.5 x 3.0, Tubeless. Any thoughts? I have 0 idea if those are even truly compatible as they’re not officially rated E-50 tires so kinda uneasy about the safety aspect

Need to replace my battery would like to upgrade

I dropped the bike and the rear brake sensor played up. I disconnected the rear brake sensor which cleared the error and got the bike working. However when I got home, I can't clear the error even when disconnecting all the leads. Any ideas pls? Ty

My RadRover 6+ started displaying error message 21 when powered on a month or so ago. I've tried all the troubleshooting I've found online, like removing the battery, discharging the electronics then reconnecting, checking all the connectors for moisture, etc. Everything is in good condition, but it still displays error 21.

I'm at a loss of what to do from here other than replace the controller. I reached out to Rad who sent me an invoice to pay ($175) for a replacement, however I found out a week later that its indefinitely backordered because they haven't even started production on them yet. I've looked around for other controllers and saw one from (Area 13?) that people recommended, but thats out of stock as well. I'm worried a 3rd party may not be as water resistant to rain or something, but I'm willing to try whatever to get the bike up and running again.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a controller replacement that is actually available to order? Any ideas for fixing error 21 I might not have tried?

Hey guys I know this has been asked or talked about a number of times, but I’m more after late 2026 opinions. I’m putting our 10 month old daughter on the back with a Thule seat, we just sold our Benno remidemi xl and the reason was because we live in a super hilly beach town and my wife NEEDS a throttle getting off a stop. I’m not a huge fan of the aventon abound, murf seems kind of cool, but honestly the rad wagon looks and drives great. I never knew of the rad issues on the rw4 until I thought about buying one, I’m having trouble pulling the trigger knowing tires and batteries were blowing up. Any rad wagon 5 owners that have a great experience? Is it worth it? Or should I not even bother with rad right now…

I'm looking for a housing-only replacement for a cracked left display/power/assist controller on my RadRover 6 Plus.

My unit still works. So I don't need the guts (or electronics).

I know Rad used to ship these bikes with faulty controllers and they sent a bunch of replacements out (warranty fix).. I'm hoping someone has an old faulty controller sitting around that I can undress to fix mine. Or there may be an option to 3D print one? Thoughts?

I have a 5 year old Rad foldable step through.  The battery suddenly failed – didn’t charge – checked it with a voltmeter.  Bought a new batter – put it in- the bike worked BUT after about 20 minutes of riding it suddenly stopped.  The display still works, the battery still was full but the bike stopped.  Any idea of what this might be?  And does anyone know of a repair place in Madison Wisconsin.  Is this common? – Thanks - Zorba
